“The last time I ran into a white Star, I can only say that I managed to escape with my life. I know I haven’t told anyone this before, but I have been to the floors above this one. It is not a lie, what they say about that place. It is beautiful, more beautiful than anything you could find on these lower floors. But it is also so dangerous that a man can go mad from fear just by stepping foot in there. The bloodlust is so thick in the air, like a house of madness where your life is always threatened!”

Han listened closely to everything that Paravell said. He was speaking about the floors above like they were something otherworldly. What happened to him there?

“It was a stupid mistake for me to even think about going there. One minute. It only took one minute for me to be found and for my life to be put a risk. The second the fight began I knew that I would lose, it was a first for me because I know I am the strongest on these lower floors, the power difference should not be that much! But that was not a being I could face even if I trained for a million years. All I could do at the end of the day was run away while sacrificing my left arm. I don’t remember much about the thing I fought, but all I can say for certain is that it had a plain white Star etched into its arm, just like you”

At the end of his speech, Paravell looked down at Han with a glare and Han tried not to smile. This entire thing was sounding so cool! A massive fight for your life that brings about the downfall of your pride and the loss of your left arm! It’s like a coming-of-age battle shounen manga! Like Shanks!!

The leader of the white rose guild tried to take a step away from Han. He didn’t think it was so wise to stand next to someone with the kind of power Paravell was talking about, but Han slung his hand around the man’s neck and held him in place.

“If I was going to kill anyone then you would already be dead, don’t be a fool and start acting like that. And you, Paravell. Tell me if you’re going to sign the contract or not. I am not very patient right now. Since you already know how strong I am then you can understand what will happen if you refuse”

Paravell felt a drop of sweat run down the back of his neck. He could already imagine the sort of carnage that Han could unleash on these lower floors if he wanted to. That wouldn’t be good for his guild. None of the people out there could ever hope to match up to Paravell, talk less of them daring to match up to Han. If Han suddenly starts a fight, then they would die like trees in a forest fire.

“L-Listen! Just listen to me for a second first before you do anything! I’m more than willing to sign the contract! I think it would be best if we do! But something is stopping me from doing that. My people are warriors and the only way for us to come to decisions like this is through combat! If you can bring a warrior to fight against one of our best warriors, then it will be easier for people to accept this!”

Accept? Han didn’t need these idiots to accept it! They just needed to fall in line and move!Â

No. No, don’t think like that Han. You need then to agree to this on their own. It won’t be good to have followers who are willing to backstab their leader for the sake of freedom. I would rather have their undying loyalty than their undying fear. Fear has made many men do many stupid things.

And if it’s just a warrior for them to fight, then I guess I can find someone. Let me see, I would’ve said Rin, but she and Yue are on the twentieth floor together and Lily is busy trying to get her gold Star. Then maybe Gregory? He’s the best choice right now since he probably surpasses anyone they can bring up. So long as Paravell doesn’t fight then it’s all good.

…..

“And that’s why you’re here. Now go get ’em, tiger!!!”

Han slapped the back of a completely stunned Gregory as he pushed him into the arena ring! Gregory had been resting on the first floor when Han suddenly came and grabbed him from there before they cleared the floors to floor fifty in record time and arrived here! Han didn’t even tell him what the fuck was going on till they got here, and Gregory saw a large crowd of people cheering him on like it was some sort of gladiator match!

“You better not lose, Gregory! You got this!”

Gregory’s face was still stuck in an expression of complete shock. This Han is a mad man! Who would just bring someone into something like this without giving them a good reason!?

The person standing opposite Gregory was a woman that looked like she was in her early twenties. She had a smirk in place as she stared at him. Her outfit was red trousers and a red blazer and she also had a sword and shield attached to her back. She couldn’t believe they were bringing some kid like this to fight her. He might be handsome, but he looks like he just got into the Temple yesterday!

“Hey, kid. Don’t blame me when you get your ass beaten! Your dad just wants to embarrass you!”

Gregory grumbled. He’s not my dad. He looked back at Han and Han give him a thumbs up like he was some sort of silly parent watching his son’s first baseball game. Shit! He really looks like my dad!

“Pay attention or you’re gonna get wrecked!”

The girl hurled herself at Gregory like a rocket when he was still not paying attention and she expected him to be caught off guard by her sudden attack. She was a gold Star and knew that her speed was not small!! But she was shocked when Gregory rose a hand up and a wall of black shadows burst out of the ground, and she slammed into it. The girl flipped back and rubbed her nose with her hand. That actually hurt!

Gregory wasn’t even paying her any attention. He looked back at Han when he suddenly saw two shadow Hunters waving black flags in support!!

“Stop that! What the fuck is wrong with you, Han!!? You’re killing me here!!”

Han chuckled internally as he watched Gregory have a serious meltdown. This kid is probably the best person to tease. With how long he has been trapped in that prison he still doesn’t know how to laugh or even joke. So every joke is taken at face value and sometimes he even takes sarcasm as the real truth! What a riot!

Gregory noticed that girl was coming toward him again and he decided that he would deal with Han later. He ducked under a slash from her sword and materialized his own weapon. Gregory had been training with his Shadow weapon for a long time now and he came to realize that the best form for him was when he made the sword into a scythe! His sword elongated into a long pole with a curved blade at the end and Gregory swung it around gracefully.

The girl that was fighting him now looked a little unsure. She did not see any weapons on him before. Was there some sort of ability that allowed someone to form a sword like this? She had only seen abilities that gave passive or active outputs, but this sword did not look like a skill. It looked like something real.

“Aren’t you going to come!? I need to finish this fast so get moving!”

Gregory’s voice broke the girl out of her thoughts, and she had to jump back as his scythe slashed across the place she was just at! She brought up her sword and blocked a bash from Gregory and her knees buckled under her before she grunted as she pushed him away! She won’t lose to this green bean! He might be strong but there is no way she is going to lose!

Her shield slammed into Gregory’s chest and he flew back till he slammed into a tree behind them! He looked up and saw her sword coming down at him at lightning speed and a huge wall of shadows burst forth from the ground and wrapped around him!!

[Shadow Movement] has been activated

The sword stabbed into the spot Gregory was sitting just as Gregory disappeared. The girl couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw him materialize out from the shadow of one of the trees beside them! But she didn’t let that stop her! So what if he could teleport! She flew towards the tree and grabbed her sword before activating the special skill [Ten Thousand Slashes]!!
