The phones at HR Investment were all in the trash can. Han ordered every single person to put their office phone in the trash can because ever since that morning, call after call has been coming in and he was getting tired of the constant ringing! He needed to focus on his trading and he didn’t have time to explain what he was doing to people!
But everybody and their grandmother wanted to know how he managed to get Connective to become his child company, so they would never stop calling no matter how many times he told them. Han didn’t bother taking any more calls that day, he might have a press conference later to explain exactly what he was doing, but for now, he just wanted to trade!
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Han groaned as someone knocked on his door and opened it. Rin, what in the world did I just tell you? Didn’t I say I didn’t want any disturbances?
Rin Woo entered the office with a cup of coffee in one hand and a file bulging with documents in the other one. Han eyed the file wearily while accepting the coffee. He just knew this woman was bringing him problems.
“These are the files from the television companies that accepted your offer. There are half of them that jumped at it because they wanted to be a part of HR Investments, but the other half only joined because they can only use Connective to broadcast”
Han accepted the documents with a sigh and then skimmed through them all. Rin Woo was no longer surprised when Han dropped the file just three minutes later and she just went and brought another file. Han groaned and she couldn’t help but smile.
He already knew that this would be a hectic day for him. He just left yesterday and came back with a whole new child company without even telling her how he got it, so he would have to deal with the repercussions without her pity!
Han skimmed through these as well, but he suddenly stopped when one of them caught his eyes.
H&C Advertisement didn’t sign it yet.
Interesting. What was Kim trying to do now? Was she going to fight him for this?
Another knock echoed on his door while Han was thinking and he told Rin to open it. Rin opened it and paused when she saw Han’s receptionist with someone standing beside her. It was Miss Kim.
“Hello, how can I help you?”
Rin dismissed the receptionist before she spoke to Miss Kim with a strained smile. Miss Kim eyed Rin for a second before smiling while ignoring the smile that was obviously fake. She told Rin that she wanted to see Han Luo. Rin went back inside and told Han about this and he told her to allow Miss Kim in. She entered but she couldn’t help but notice the intense stare Rin gave her before leaving the room.
Was that woman not just Han’s secretary? Why would she be looking at her like that? Well, it didn’t matter. Miss Kim turned to Han with a smile. He was a very hard man to get to, she had been trying to call his office since this morning but for some reason, she couldn’t get through! So she just decided to come here by herself.
“Kim. It’s been a while. How are you?”
Miss Kim swallowed before smiling and stretching her hand out to recieve the handshake that Han gave her as he stood. She didn’t miss how he was no longer calling her by Miss Kim, it was now Kim. She didn’t know if she should be happy or sad about this!
She cannot deny that his aura was different from the last time she saw him. He no longer looks like an equal in her eyes. This man was the CEO of a multibillion-dollar company and her company wasn’t even up to a hundred million yet.
Their positions have changed a lot from when they were employer and employee.
Han told Miss Kim to sit down and then he offered her a glass of scotch. She gratefully accepted it with a smile. It was nice that Han was calm, but she just couldn’t be calm now. Would Han still remember the things that she did to him before? Was he still holding some sort of resentment for her? Why did she not try harder to keep him in her company?
These thoughts were floating through her head constantly and she almost spilled the drink as she was collecting it from Han. Han caught it and helped her hold it properly. He then smiled as she blushed in embarrassment.
She was being too nervous, Han thought. Couldn’t she just calm down a little? He didn’t think he did anything to make her uncomfortable yet. There was no reason for him to bully her since this was a business meeting. Han sat back in his seat and asked Miss Kim why she was there.
Miss Kim said that she came to speak about the contract and Han nodded while bringing it out. He was very professional as he explained exactly what the contract entailed. He told her that he would not have any administrative authority in her company but he would be the parent company they would stay under. He also remainded her that there would be no need for her to report her dealing to him unless there was a need to.
The only reason Han allowed this was because he didn’t want too much work on his table at once. He already had more than enough work with both AeroDynamicity and his real estate. He didn’t need the commercial sector breathing down on his neck as well.
He quickly handled everything Miss Kim wanted before she signed. He then told her he needed to get back to business. Miss Kim was shocked by the quick dismissal. There was actually something she wanted to talk to Han about, but with how indifferent he was to her, she didn’t know if she should. Her problems weren’t his own. There was no need for her to disturb his life just because of a small problem.
…
On the other side of the city, Hou Ren was having a migraine. His entire company was in disarray because of the news that came to them this morning! They suddenly received the news that the broadcast company under them sold out and then the CEO disappeared after. This was not something small for him! He would lose a lot of money if he didn’t get to the bottom of this!
Hou Ren received another call from one of his stakeholders and he shouted at the person on the phone not to call him back again! Yes, he would get to the bottom of the issue, but he needed time!
He dropped the phone and shouted.
“Cipher!!”
Cipher rushed into his father’s office quickly while ending his call with another one of his informants. He has been trying to find that CEO since this morning!
“Any luck Cipher!? Did you find that idiot that sold us out!?”
Cipher squeezed his hand before shaking his head in the negative. Hou Ren cursed and then his phone rang again. It was his banker from the City C bank.
“What is it!? Don’t you dare disturb me for no reason now!”
The banker on the other side swallowed nervously from how angry Hou Ren sounded. The news he had was not good and this is not the best time to be giving this kind of news, but he knew that Hou Ren would want to hear it before it became public news! He spoke up before Hou Ren got even angrier.
[Sir, I think you need to look at your accounts, you’re losing a lot of money right now!]
“What!? How much!? How much have I lost already!?”
The banker was silent on the other side for a second before he finally spoke up with a stutter.
[T-Three… Billion]
“What!!!!? Don’t you dare play with me right now! I’m not in the mood! Check those accounts again! There’s no way I lost that much!”
The banker shook his head and wiped his forehead with a handkerchief. This job was bad for his health! Hou Ren could kill him for a piece of single bad news and this was the worst one he ever gave anybody!
[Sir, seventy percent of your child companies have left you and the other thirty percent are almost on the way out. You are losing money like a sieve, sir!]
