88 My Mother’s House

“Your fiancée is still out there.”

Ella didn’t even hide the cynicism in her tone. But to Haikal’s ears, Ella sounded like a woman who was jealous.

It was true, Ella still liked him. After all, he was Ella’s first love. How could Ella have forgotten him so easily?

He didn’t think long and thought that every hatred that radiated from Ella’s face or out of her mouth was a form of jealousy.

“Isabella, I missed you so much.” Haikal looked at Ella with a gaze full of love.

His eyes fell on the face of the woman in front of him. Ella, who had been very beautiful from the start, looked even more attractive after five years.

“Sorry, but I don’t.”

Ella still smiled as she said that. She was used to using her smile as a tool to pretend, to cover up her true self that she almost forgot what her real smile was.

“You’re mad at me, aren’t you?”

.....

Haikal looked at Ella excitedly, adding a bit of strength in his hand that was holding Ella’s hand.

Ella’s eyes flashed disgust as she realized how disgusting the man before her was. “Haikal, let go of your hand. You hurt me.”

“I’m sorry.” Haikal immediately reduced the strength in his hand, but had no intention of letting go of Ella’s hand. However, his following words made Ella even more astonished. “I’m too excited. You know I’m waiting for you. How much time did I spend waiting for this day? I really wanted to meet you.”

Haikal was still the same as before. Even Ella still remembered the way he apologized every time he made a mistake, just like the person she loved before.

Unfortunately, even if Haikal was still the same as it was five years ago, Ella had completely changed.

“Meet me?” Ella sneered and looked at him with disdain. “Haikal, didn’t you intervene five years ago? No need to deny it. Did you think I wouldn’t investigate it?”

“Isabella, I...” Haikal frowned. “I only found out about it after...”

“I don’t want to hear your excuses,” Ella interrupted. “Do you think your reasoning makes sense? Or do you think I will forgive you just because of your brief explanation? Or...” Ella removed her hand from Haikal and stepped forward. “Or do you intend to make up for it? Help me get everything back?”

However, before Haikal could answer, Ella retreated back to her place and said, “After five years, you are becoming more and more... naive.”

After saying that, Ella straightened the dress on her body and came out of the bathroom.

Haikal’s eyes burned when he saw the woman leave him. He immediately followed her and said, “Don’t you want to get back what’s yours?”

Ella pursed her lips tightly, saying nothing.

“The house that the Maheswara Family is currently living in is your mother’s house, right?” Haikal’s voice became serious as he said that. “Are you happy to see that the Maheswara Family lives in that house? Actually, the house will be bequeathed to your sister as a wedding gift. Do you want to take it back?”

Haikal looked at Ella intently.

He really understood Ella’s character.

Ella would not let anyone else touch what was hers. Plus, after all the atrocities committed by the Maheswara Family on her, Ella definitely wanted the house back, no matter how much it cost.

Ella exhaled tiredly, as if she didn’t want to deal with this man in front of her anymore. After that, she raised her head and looked at Haikal’s face.

Her hands were tightly clenched at this point. She did not expect her father to bequeath the house to Indri as a wedding gift later.

It was the house she had lived in for the past eighteen years. And the house belonged to her mother!

“Don’t you want to take back your mother’s house?” Haikal continued.

Ella’s fists were clenched so tightly that her fingernails dipped into her palms.

Of course she would! Of course she would take it back!

“What can you offer?” Ella asked coldly.

A proud smile appeared on Haikal’s face. “I’m not in a hurry. We can talk about it later.”

“Too long. I don’t have the patience to wait,” Ella turned around after giving Haikal a condescending look.

“Isabella, don’t forget. I know you very well.” Haikal smiled and stroked Ella’s face with his hand. “You are still as beautiful as ever. No, you are even more beautiful than before. If only you had been gentler, I would never have left you.”

Haikal took a deep breath, showing a regretful expression.

Ella just looked at him blankly. She had seen shameless people many times, but this man before her was the worst.

His level of narcissism had gone beyond reasonable limits.

“Too bad, I don’t like you.” Ella dodged and slapped Haikal’s.

She looked at him as if the man was an annoying fly. After that, she came out of the bathroom. “One day, we will meet again.”

Of course they would meet again. They would meet on the day Ella took revenge for everything.

Ella would not miss this opportunity. She would take back everything that was rightfully hers.

Haikal saw the figure of Ella who left him with a faint smile on his lips. If he had set his goal, how could he possibly let her go?

Ella came out of the bathroom and went straight to where Nathan was sitting.

“Old woman! How dare you leave me here alone for so long!” Nathan looked at Ella in annoyance.

He had waited for her long enough in this place alone! He didn’t know anyone here and his father was busy chatting with other people.

He had also finished eating. Without Ella beside him, what could he do? He’s so bored!

Looks like he had to teach this old woman a lesson!

But after he glared at Ella for quite a while, he found that Ella didn’t react at all.

“What’s wrong?” Nathan shouted once more, but Ella still didn’t respond.

Nathan was surprised to see her. Did laughing made her stupid?

He immediately approached Ella and waved his hand in front of her eyes. “Hey, are you okay?”

“Hah?” Ella suddenly woke up. She saw Nathan in front of her and forced a smile. “What is it?”

Nathan crossed his arms across his chest in annoyance. “I called you over and over again.”

“Sorry, I was thinking about something.” Ella didn’t even feel the urge to argue with Nathan. She recalled what Haikal had told her.

Her father had given her mother’s house as a wedding gift for Indri and Haikal. That house was her mother’s house!

Why was her father so cruel to her?

The house was her mother’s legacy and should be hers!

Why did her father even give the house to Indri? Isn’t she the daughter of another mother? Indri is just a stepdaughter to him!
