'How did he know?'
Standing upright on her straw bed, staring quietly into the darkened night of this isolated world's artificial celestial cycle, the young woman born just today questioned her reality, especially that mortal human that had saved her from her yang-deprived plight. If not for his timely assistance, she would have suffered degradation and broken down on a fundamentally cellular and soul level, experiencing death on the same die as she did life.
Earlier during their discussion, the mortal human had implied that not dual cultivating with her was due to his enjoyment to continue living. It was a subtle remark. However, she was blessed with innate knowledge and insight, including all sorts of unique methods for self-preservation-a gift from the heavens. One of those self-preservation methods was a phenomenal reversal art of the soul, body, and mind.
It was called: Inverse of the Heavens Art.
Its effects were simple enough yet undeniably heaven-rivaling; it can twist the cause and effect of an object or area. If she was on the verge of death, exhausted all her energies, or experienced fatal injuries that were weakening her combat ability, by executing this art, she could twist the reality of the heavens and return to the peak of life, replenished of all expended energies, and subjected to miraculous blessings improving her power instead of weakening her.
It was also one of the only known methods of True Resurrection without consequence, capable of inverting life and death with heaven's blessing.
The logic-defying nature of it had an extraordinary cost of sacrificing her natural connection to the heavens, but the result was an unrivaled power to distort all things.
She had one usage of it in her entire lifetime, and it was regarded by all those genuinely born from the Impartation of the Heavens as the greatest trump card. Normally, those recently born by the heavens were exploited early on in their infancy, and they simply didn't have a mature body to properly execute the art.
She, however, was different.
Her body had been ruthlessly accelerated by the exhausting of her Yang Quintessence, Yang Source, and Yang Energies, leaving her entirely yin-aligned, and was therefore an incomplete existence. She had contemplated using this ability on her condition, but the result would inevitably be an exact inverse, and she would essentially be given the same circumstance but yang-aligned with all yin exhausted.
While certainly an extraordinary effect that could awe countless existences across the world, the lack of flexibility in its inverse application left it with an inherent weakness in certain situations-this one in particular.
"I like living..."
Wei Wuyin's amused grin and tone echoed in her thoughts alongside his unearthly visage of masculine handsomeness.
During her plight, she had revealed a gaze of reluctance with a tinge of acceptance. That was not because her purity was threatened or her natural connection with the heavens was about to be taken away, seized by a stranger, but because she was resolved to use the Inverse of the Heavens Art.
Should anyone, be it Wei Wuyin or Young Master Shang, have used their Yang Root to connect with her Primal Yin, siphoning all her imprinted information and affinity to the heavens while attempting to 'mend' her yang-deficiency defect, at a critical moment, she would twist and distort cause and effect.
Instead, she would seize everything from them. She would obtain everything from them while they would be subjected to a yin-deficiency defect. Even her charity would remain untouched as Primal Yang can not be broken as Primal Yin, so her Primal Yin would have remained. While in mind she would have lost her virginity, in body and soul, her Primal Yin would have been entirely intact.
In the same vein, Wei Wuyin or Young Master Shang's information and qualities attached to their souls, such as Laws and Intents, even their cultivation base, would have become hers.
All hers.
'Did he know?' She questioned herself again. No one should know of her ability as it was forbidden by the heavens to obtain it or disclose it to others. It held tremendous karmic implications.
She didn't expect Wei Wuyin to take an entirely different approach despite Young Master Shang's urgings and detailed information regarding the circumstances. It was highly irregular. Touching her lower abdomen, she felt the transplanted Yang Source pulsating with extraordinary yang energies, empowering her body, and enriching her yin.
Her eyes blinked as the night sky was held in her gaze, her galaxy-like pupils swirled thoughtfully.
'Hungry? I guess...I was...' For the first time in her life, her lips tugged in a natural arc that could bewitch the hearts and souls of entities from most worlds. A smile. A perfectly imperfect smile of a newborn.
There was certain knowledge in this world that only those blessed could receive or know without consequence, and while in the future Wei Wuyin would be able to gather information regarding the Inverse of the Heavens Art due to several factors, he did not have an inkling of its existence today. He was ignorant of her ability.
Although he didn't know of this cheat-like reversal, he had intimate knowledge that the Rite of the Sinner was underway. In Wei Wuyin's mind, if he had chosen to face the Wall of Heaven as an individual of ultimate pride, his death was all but certain that day. Meanwhile, if he hadn't saved Bai Lin, exhibited a justified and reasonable pride to not allow his mount/partner to die to some otherworldly bullshit after burning her life to try and save him, then he would have failed.
Taking this knowledge into account, unprecedented as it was given the absurd rarity of undergoing two Rites of a Sinner, Wei Wuyin could deduce that indulging in the ultimate lust toward this beauty without a second thought was cause for failure and would inevitably lead to his death. As for the passing condition? Even right now, Wei Wuyin was entirely unaware of what it was. Was it assisting the young woman to survive? Refusing to indulge? Was it specifically intent?
Perhaps it was to channel his inner hunger and seize everything and not to lust for a brief, momentary benefit and relief, but to acquire a long-lasting lifetime of gains in the form of the Shard of Heaven by convincing her to accept his assistance without using the Inverse of the Heavens Art.
However, those words he had spoken earlier weren't directed toward her Inverse of the Heavens Art, but his logical conclusion that doing so without specific conditions met was an outright failure, and he was aware that his Bloodline of Sin and Primordial Seed of Sin: Lust would be stripped from him upon failure and subject him to true existential death. This was what the Black Skeleton alluded to anyhow.
Wei Xiaotian was now a mortal woman who had yet to embark on the path of cultivation, but her talent was certainly unprecedented. Moreover, she was born with a destiny tethered to another by her own choice. An eternal karmic tie.
Wei Wuyin had offered her the opportunity to seize her fate, leaving her future up to her to choose. He hadn't forced her into any unreasonable agreement, only a promise to assist him on his path. It was she who decided to take it a step further, claiming his surname. With her own will, she decided a path for her future that Wei Wuyin hadn't expected but hoped for.
'Wuyin...'
-----
Wei Wuyin wasn't idle during the night. After settling Wei Xiaotian, he went to the main hall of the temple. After coming into contact with the Temple Master of this rural city of 400,000, Wei Wuyin's earlier attempts at contacting the rulers of this isolated world garnered some results. He received an invitation to a gathering of human leaders, all of whom were cultivators at the Mystic Ascendant Realm, the strongest of which were at the Demi-Mortal Lord Phase.
Wei Wuyin didn't dawdle with fruitless endeavors or discussions, immediately revealing his knowledge of their plots of using this isolated realm and the many others allowed by the ruling beasts as farms. Shocked as they were, they didn't immediately turn to violence, but that didn't mean Wei Wuyin hadn't.
Using Young Master Shang, Wei Wuyin instructed him to suppress every last member here. Despite his cultivation base being lower, his foundation and knowledge of Ascension Arts were unrivaled here. Young Master Shang took very little time to do so.
After establishing dominance with this display, Wei Wuyin declared that he had no intention of breaking the status quo. He had no preference for beasts or humans, and human farms, animal farms, or plant farms had little bearing on his soul. It was simply a matter of the strong devouring the weak, and this galaxy was unsuitable for a vassal state transformation due to lacking a clear leader amongst beasts, including the prohibition of laws that govern it.
He did, however, give them some compensation in terms of legacy, items, and materials of extraordinarily high level. Since he promised to compensate them for his intrusion, he didn't intend to go against his word on that matter.
Furthermore, he intended to establish a Void Altar here for future expeditions. A land ruled by beasts was suitable to train those of the beast race-hybrids or full-blooded-given the sheer quantity of blood essence material likely born from graveyards and the such. If his beastly or humannAscendants one day decided to change the status quo here, he wouldn't interfere. Meanwhile, in the future, this would be a perfect training ground for his humanoid Ascendants as well given the prohibition had a limitation like the Devil War Realm. This would allow them to hone their Ascension Arts and Intent to compensate for the lack of Laws against opponents with strange abilities and strong bodies.
For now, the Sky Heart Galaxy wasn't worth immediately investing much into it or changing anything.
With his identity as a foreign human emperor of another world, the horizons of these Ascended beings were expanded several times over, and they hurriedly agreed to accept establishing a Void Altar here.
This wasn't the only place that Wei Wuyin had ventured to either. With Young Master Shang in attendance, Wei Wuyin fully utilized the time to enter each human farm overseen by the various beastly races. The most was ruled by the Almiraj, those furry horned beasts with incredible mental abilities.
Similar to the first world, he found suitable locations to establish a hidden Void Altar while promising benefits. Young Master Shang was smiling with contentment after seeing Wei Wuyin fork over valuable alchemical products at the seventh, eighth, ninth, and Mystic-Earth grades to these humans with pathetic foundations.
In his semi-drunken eyes, Wei Wuyin was exhibiting some bias here and siding with the human race under the guise of establishing a Void Altar. This satisfied him greatly after he had made that request, and while Wei Wuyin hadn't made the Sky Heart Galaxy a Vassal State like he had the White Abyssal Galaxy, he had taken steps to one day prepare for such a thing to occur.
In actuality, Wei Wuyin needed strong cultivators to establish and build the Void Altar, protect it while it was active until the Ascendants could eventually take over, and used this promise of valuable resources to seize the greedy hearts of these so-called rulers and prevent them from exposing the Void Altars to the beasts in the hopes of future rewards.
He hadn't even needed to say anything and those 'human rulers' were already forcing others to swear oaths of the Spirit, Mythical, and Heavenly all at once while sealing up the entrances with additional security. An excessive series of actions all derived from their hope-filled dreams of one day surpassing the beasts and reclaiming their world. It was hard to measure the despondency and anger that held in their hearts after countless years of this society.
Who wished to be food or play things for others?
Days soon passed.
Until eventually, the Sage arrived.
