Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 5319: Once More Encountering the Soaring Dragon Company

“How was it?” Long Chen asked Qing Xi as they rushed away.

“I… I took their entire treasury!” Qing Xi replied, her voice trembling with a mix of excitement and anxiety.

Qing Xi had always been an obedient child, always following the rules in her sect. When would she have ever done something like this? When she opened the Wang family’s treasury and saw the countless divine weapons, immortal materials, and medicinal pills, her heart raced. She could barely believe what she was seeing.

At the time, she had been both frightened and thrilled. Unable to tally for everything, she simply took everything she could carry. Now, flying away with Long Chen, she felt like she was dreaming. This all felt unreal.

“Hehe, good job.” Long Chen gave her a thumbs up.

Long Chen couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. The old saying was true: learning good habits was difficult and required effort, like walking on thin ice over an abyss. But learning bad habits? That could happen in the blink of an eye. Qing Xi’s excited yet nervous expression said it all.

“Senior apprentice-brother Long Chen, can we really escape unscathed?” Qing Xi asked, her voice filled with unease.

This was her first time doing something so bold, and it weighed heavily on her conscience.

Hearing this, Long Chen laughed lightly. “Don’t worry about it. They definitely can’t catch up to us. What lands in our pockets is ours forever.”

Long Chen had already carried out three spatial transportations, each time disrupting the space to cover their trail. It would be nearly impossible for anyone to follow them.

“Heavens! The Wang family is at least a hundred times richer than my sect! No, maybe a thousand times richer! There’s just no comparison!” Qing Xi exclaimed as she continued checking her loot.

As they flew, her excitement grew with every item she examined. “Senior apprentice-brother Long Chen, let’s find a safe place. I’ll give you the entire treasury.”

“What am I going to do with it? Keep it for yourself,” replied Long Chen.

“But… how can I accept such a thing?”

“You almost died at the hands of the Wang family. Now you’ve gotten the compensation. It balances out your karma, so neither of you owes the other anything,” Long Chen explained.

“My life isn’t worth this much money!” Qing Xi protested, shaking her head.

“Keep it anyway!” insisted Long Chen.

“But you should at least take a look at the treasures! There’s so much! There are over a hundred Human Emperor divine weapons…”

Long Chen was actually well aware of what the Wang family’s treasury contained. From Elder Lu’s memories, he knew the Wang family had two treasuries: one public and one hidden. The public one, which Qing Xi had raided, was filled with commonly used items, while the hidden one contained the truly valuable treasures.

The family head himself was in control of the hidden treasury, so Elder Lu didn’t know about its location. Sadly, Long Chen didn’t have time to search for it.

For Long Chen, the public treasury that had Qing Xi so excited didn’t pique his interest. He told her that this was her opportunity and she should keep it for herself. If she wanted, she could share it with her friends back at the Wind God Sea Pavilion or trade the items for things she really needed.

Qing Xi tried to refuse several times, but Long Chen insisted. As he didn’t even want to look at the treasures, she reluctantly stored them away. By this point, Qing Xi viewed Long Chen as her greatest benefactor. She had never imagined becoming so wealthy.

“Senior apprentice-brother Long Chen, there’s a city up ahead. We can check if their transportation formation leads to Ying Prefecture. If it does, I’ll know where to go from there,” Qing Xi said as she spotted the city.

Long Chen nodded. Right now, they were in a race against time. Could they get out of the Wang family’s territory before they locked everything down?

The gamble was whether this city was affiliated with the Wang family. Even if it was, Long Chen had already broken the Wang family’s transportation formations, so word might not have spread yet. Either way, they had to take the chance. Traveling on foot would waste too much time.

Luckily, there didn’t seem to be anything suspicious about the city. It bustled with adventurers, and anyone who paid the fee could pass through easily.

Long Chen wasn’t sure if it was because of Qing Xi’s presence, but they entered the city smoothly. To their relief, one of the four transportation formations there was headed to Ying Prefecture. Even better, it was scheduled to activate soon.

Qing Xi hurriedly paid the fee, and they rushed onto the platform just as the formation began to power up. The long-range transportation formation took a little time to activate, and Qing Xi couldn’t help but feel nervous.

Long Chen smiled. “It’s fine. If this city really belongs to the Wang family, we’ll rob it as well.”

Qing Xi blushed in embarrassment. Her nervous demeanor made her look even more like a guilty person.

Buzz.

Once the transportation formation activated, Qing Xi relaxed. A spherical barrier appeared around them as they rapidly shuttled through a spatial channel.

Long Chen couldn’t help but curse Jiang Yiming in his mind. This was what a real transportation formation looked like. As for whatever the hell Jiang Yiming had made? That was rubbish. It had almost gotten him killed last time.

Jiang Yiming was not a formation master. He had only relied on ancient texts and his limited knowledge. He himself had no idea how far the transportation formation could carry him. If not for the Earth Cauldron, Long Chen would have been sliced to bits by the terrifying spatial blades. Thankfully, this time, the spatial channel was smooth. Its walls were glossy like a mirror, and the barrier around them was stable. This was a real transportation formation.

“Young friend, are you out for training?” an elderly Human Emperor suddenly asked Qing Xi as they traveled through space, his eyes watching them closely.

Before Qing Xi could respond, Long Chen cut in. “Shut your mouth and quit those wicked thoughts. Is living an honest life that hard?”

Just who was Long Chen? He could instantly tell that the old man was not a nice guy. The old man had noticed how nervous Qing Xi had been and was trying to probe them for information. Seeing Qing Xi relax, the elder guessed that she might be carrying some kind of treasure on her. From the elder’s ugly face, Long Chen knew that this greedy old fuck was up to no good.

Four half-step Human Emperors by the elder’s side glared at Long Chen, their killing intent clear.

“Brat, be more respectful. This is a deacon of the illustrious Soaring Dragon Company!” growled one of them.

“The Soaring Dragon Company?” Long Chen’s eyes gleamed upon hearing that name.
