Not far away were two figures fighting each other.

Both of them fought smoothly and were obviously skilled cultivators from prestigious clans. The cultivator that held a long rod in his hand had energliph thick as ink surrounding his weapon. It was as if he was currently writing calligraphy with a huge ink-filled brush.

On the other hand, his yellow hair opponent fought like a ferocious tiger. He was wielded with a staff that was topped with a beast claw and tiger roars were heard every time he waved it.

The duo was none other than Chor Kwong Laan and Wong Chow Yip.

“I’ll cripple you!“ Wong Chow Yip gritted his teeth.

Being a member of the Chor Clan, Chor Kwong Laan remained stoic. “If your cultivation was half as great as your bullshitting skills, you would’ve already achieved the five-chambered state.”

“Chor Kwong Laan!” Wong Chow Yip yelled furiously.

“Can you stop shouting? I know my name; I don’t need you to remind me.” The “Ice-berg” Chor Kwong Laan replied.

This further angered Wong Chow Yip who already blew his top as he leapt into the air. He spun his staff, energliph surging as a yellow tiger head congealed at the top of the staff. The tiger opened its mouth and let out a silent roar.

“Ascending Tiger!!!” His stance was extremely imposing!

“Powerful name, but its strength isn’t as great.” Speaking monotonously, Chor Kwong Laan raised his long rod, his ink’s will turning into a gliphility before congealing into a black whirlpool!

“Rotation!”

Boom!

The illusion of the ferocious tiger landed directly in the black whirlpool as the leaves surrounding them were blown away, some even turning into ashes!

In no time, it turned into a battle of energliph.

Wong Chow Yip looked like he had the upper hand, but the Wong Clan’s Tiger Breath was so violent and explosive that he couldn’t overcome the Chor Clan’s stable and resilient Ink’s Will! If Wong Chow Yip couldn’t defeat Chor Kwong Laan within a short period of time, Chor Kwong Laan could counterattack!

They glared at each other over their weapons, unwilling to give in.

“Hey! Fancy meeting you guys here!” A voice interrupted them, ignoring their fierce aura. “Why are you guys fighting again?”

“Brother Chui, you should stay back. This guy from the Chor Clan deserves a beating,” Wong Chow Yip frowned.

“Brother Chui, stay back or we might accidentally hurt you.” Chor Kwong Laan similarly frowned.

“Why is it that you two only ever fight? Do you really hate each other that much?” Chui Yim replied unhappily. It might be due to him breaking through, but Chui Yim’s auditory perception greatly improved, which allowed him to hear their weapons clashing. He managed to identify the New Rich Two and New Rich Three that he forged due to the unique frequency made when they collided.

Chui Yim didn’t step back despite hearing them. Instead, he placed his hands on their shoulders and pushed them apart. He exerted great strength as a red light swam across his eyes without him realising. Since it was Chui Yim who intervened, neither Wong Chow Yip nor Chor Kwong Laan resisted.

Chui Yim forged Wong Chow Yip’s weapon, and with Chui Yim’s special status in the Chor Clan, both had no choice but to stop.

On the other hand, Chui Yim hadn’t noticed the changes to his strength and nodded in satisfaction. “That’s better. Stop fighting! Our purpose is to do well in this school trip instead of fighting. We are in the Forbidden Forest, not South Imperial City where you can practice to your heart’s content. Gliphic beasts might be attracted to the scene if you guys continue and ambush the both of you! Is that worth it?”

Chor Kwong Laan and Wong Chow Yip stayed silent. While they understood his logic, the Chor and Wong Clans always fought, and they needed no particular reason to fight. If not for Chui Yim, things might have really developed undesirably.

Noticing how they remained quiet, Chui Yim felt pleased with himself. “Since both of you already know your mistakes, it’s all good. Fate brought us here together. Are you guys willing to explore the Forbidden Forest together with me?”

Chor Kwong Laan and Wong Chow Yip smiled bitterly after realising what Chui Yim wanted. He wants to make us his helpers?

Normally, Chor Kwong Laan and Wong Chow Yip would never work together, but they did so now because of Chui Yim. “Since Brother Chui asked, I’m willing to accompany you too. But I don’t know if that Wong guy has the guts to come along.” Chor Kwong Laan hummed.

“Guts?” Wong Chow Yip laughed angrily. “That’s what the Wong Clan is filled with!”

Chui Yim watched the scene in front of him casually. I’m…really great to get two helpers so easily.

Woo Nim and Cheuk Kwun might have separated an area in the Forbidden Forest for the students, but as the largest forbidden area in the South, one day wasn’t enough for them to finish exploring it. Among the students were two calm figures.

One was still in the Cloud Palace’s white uniform, while the other had already changed into tight-fitting black clothes, following behind the other figure like a shadow. As they travelled, the teenager in black spoke. “Your Highness, is it safe for us to venture deep into the forest?”

It was Lam Zaa and his shadow, Yam Chui Ying. His words made Lam Zaa laugh. “Why are you so scared? This isn’t the first time we left the palace!”

Despite hearing him, Yam Chui Ying didn’t relax and kept watching his surroundings warily. “But this is the first time we’ve travelled so far from South Imperial City, and this is a famous forbidden area!”

“Relax.” Lam Zaa shook his head. “Nothing will go wrong. How often would we get to explore the Forbidden Forest? We must be minimally of the three-chambered rank to enter under normal circumstances!

“Rather than powerful and mystical gliphic beasts and treasures, I value things or legacies passed down the most.”

“What do you mean?” Yam Chui Ying was utterly confused.

Lam Zaa nodded as excitement was written all over his face. “The world is so huge; there have been countless elites in history. Over thousands of years, many elites have passed on silently, preferring to leave the world peacefully rather than fancy funeral or graves compared to the past.

“The only place free of humans in the South is the Forbidden Forest.”
