Guan Ming opened the door angrily, expecting to see the assistant that he had sent to buy clothes for Camilla.

"I fucking told you not to knock!" Guan Ming shouted.

"Is that how you speak to your mother?" An elderly lady that resembled Guan Ming asked as she stood by the door.

"M- m- mom?" Guan Ming said in a shaky voice as he quickly stepped out of his room, closing the door behind him.

He hoped that Camilla had heard him and wouldn't step out of his room.

"Mom, what are you doing here?" Guan Ming asked as he led his mother to the couch. "I thought you were going on vacation with your friends."

"I am!" His mother said with a smile. "Apparently your auntie Lin wanted to go to Kashmere Resort here. Her husband has done business with a friend of the owner, so he pulled a few strings and got us a reservation."

"Mom, you know that I could have done that for you." Guan Ming pointed out. "Ming Enterprises is one of the biggest companies in the world, it wouldn't have been difficult to get a reservation for you."

"Oh please." His mother said as she rolled her eyes at him. "This isn't some resort you can just book at. There is an extremely long waiting list and it's only for members. It's a very exclusive private island and resort."

Guan Ming took a deep breath and shook his head. He knew about Kashmere, and he knew that Cedric's brother-in-law owned the place.

He didn't like it when his mother had to depend on other people to get things, he was after all, quite capable of giving her everything she needed.

"Mom, you know I don't like you asking people for favors." Guan Ming said with a frown.

"I didn't ask, I was offered." She said with a shrug.

Guan Ming knew his mother had suffered a lot of discrimination among her peers, she wasn't the traditional tycoon's wife.

Lu Ning, Guan Ming's mother, was an ordinary office worker when she and Guan Ming's father fell in love.

The Guans were very much against their relationship, but Guan Chen, Guan Ming's father, fought for their relationship. He sacrificed everything just to be with Lu Ning, he even went as far as risking his position as the family heir.

Luckily for the couple, fate was on their side. Lu Ning turned out to be a powerful ally to the Guan family, by some odd twist of faith she had been switched at birth and she was actually born the daughter of a powerful military family.

Despite her new found pedigree, many people still looked down on Lu Ning, and later on Guan Ming, because she hadn't been brought up the right way.

Lu Ning grew up in a middle class family, doing everything for herself. People made fun of her when she brought her dishes to the kitchen, or did the laundry.

There were also instances when she would be left out because all the other ladies of the most powerful families all went to the same private school, while she went to a public one.

"I'm guessing you booked a normal villa?" Guan Ming finally asked his mother.

"Of course, there wasn't anything else." Lu Ning told her son. "Plus I'm just tagging along, I can't be picky."

Guan Ming sighed as he got up and looked for his phone. He suddenly realized that he had left it in the room with Camilla.

"Please get my mom some tea." Guan Ming told an assistant who dutifully nodded and did as he asked.

"Mom, a moment, I need to call a friend. I'll be right back." Guan Ming told his mother as he entered his room.

He made sure to lock the door so that his mom wouldn't walk in to find a barely dressed Camilla on his bed.

"Your mom is here?" Camilla asked as she looked up at Guan Ming from her phone.

"Yes." Guan Ming said as he walked up to her and gave her a passionate kiss. "I want so much more than that kiss." He said as he licked her lips.

"Why are you back here? What if your mom comes in?" Camilla asked. Guan Ming could see from her expression that the thought of his mother walking in on them troubled her.

He couldn't help but laugh at her expression, he found it quite cute.

"Don't worry Camilla, I locked the door and my mom would never walk in here." He said as he gave her lips a slight peck. "Now where is that phone of mine?" Guan Ming asked as he looked around the room.

"Table." Camilla told him as she pointed at the table at the otherside of the room.

"Thanks." Guan Ming said as he kissed her again. "Do you think Cedric would kill me if I called him for a favor at this time?"

"Probably not, I mean it's a logical favor, right?" Camilla asked Guan Ming.

"It'll get my mom out  of here, so yes." Guan Ming said with a grin as he picked his phone up and searched for Cedric's name.

"I'll call him outside, please stay inside, don't come out. I'm not ready to explain to my mom who you are. And well, if she sees you, she'll start planning our wedding." Guan Ming said with a worried expression.

He watched as Camilla blushed and turned away from him.

"I'm not kidding." Guan Ming said.

"And I'm not ready for these things. We just found each other again." Camilla explained.

"I know, that's why I warned you not to step outside." Guan Ming reminded her.

"I won't." Camilla said with a nod as Guan Ming walked out of the room, making sure that the doors behind him were shut.

"Ming?" Guan Ming heard his mom call out.

"Mmmm?" Guan Ming mumbled as he kept his eyes on his phone.

"Ming!" His mom shouted as she tried to get his attention.

"What is it mom?" Guan Ming asked in an annoyed tone as he continued to look at his phone. He was waiting for Cedric's response if he could give him a call.

"Guan Ming, why did your assistant have to buy women's clothes for you in the middle of the night?!" Lu Ning asked as she held up a hanger with some casual wear and underwear.

Guan Ming suddenly went pale as he realized his mother was about to find out about Camilla.
