"Stop pacing." Adrianna scolded Cedric as she tried to reach over to zip her dress. "Could you come over here and help me with this?"

"Yes, yes." Cedric said in a slightly annoyed tone as he walked up to Adrianna's walk in closet and helped her dress.

"They all told you it would take two to five days to fully verify if Aiden really is hiding in those holy places." Adrianna reminded her husband. "All you can do for now is to rest and focus on work."

"That's why we're going to this charity party thing." Cedric complained as he watched his wife fix herself in the mirror. "I don't understand why we can't just stay in and watch a movie."

"Because this event is good for your image, and the company's image." Adrianna said as she pulled her husband out of their room. "Add to that the fact that you can help other people by donating. It's a charity event after all."

"Can I just donate and not go?" Cedric asked his wife as they stepped into the elevator.

"No." Adrianna said, rolling her eyes.

"You want to show me off!" Cedric said in surprise as he realized what his wife's goal was.

"Don't be so full of yourself." Adrianna said, walking out of the elevator.

Cedric shook his head and followed his wife out the door. They had already tucked in Emilio for bed and Adrianna's parents would be staying over to take care of Emilio.

"Why are you so insistent that I attend this charity anyway, you normally don't care." Cedric said as he opened the car door for his wife.

"I just feel like you need a break from this Aiden drama." Adrianna said as she got into the car. "A lot has happened recently and you need a break."

The event was a dinner party to thank the top financial donors. There would be an auction and some awards at the end.

"There will be a lot of ass kissers tonight." Cedric complained as a butler closed the door behind him and they drove off.

"Many of which looked down on you in the past." Adrianna said with a smile as she leaned her head on Cedric's shoulder. "Just imagine their embarrassment when they try to greet you and apologize."

"Some of them are very thick skinned and won't care." Cedric said, shaking his head.

This was his first event as the CEO of the Reyes Group where he had no need to hide his face. It would definitely be eventful.

"I already spoke to Ram." Adrianna told Cedric as she interlocked their fingers. "He asked if it would be alright to fill the media with stories about us."

"What did you say?" Cedric asked his wife.

"I said I would ask you of course." Adrianna laughed. "That's how our relationship works right? It's a partnership, not some one sided thing."

"Well, if it's fine with you it's fine with me." Cedric said with a shrug, not really caring about the media attention.

"Great, okay, I'll tell him." Adrianna said as she gave Cedric a peck on the cheek.

Cedric spent the rest of the drive just holding his wife. Adrianna was right, life had been so busy recently that it felt like he had placed the company on the back seat when he should have been prioritizing it.

He was lucky that nothing big happened and that all was peaceful at the Reyes Group.

When they finally arrived at Maharlika Hotel for the event, Cedric could see the red carpet that had been rolled out for the guests.

There were also members of the press, paparazzi, and even fans, lined up, waiting for all the guests to arrive.

Being the guests of honor, Adrianna and Cedric were the last to arrive. Among those who had already walked the red carpet were singers, actors, politicians, and other businessmen. But no one attracted attention like the Reyes couple.

The reporters knew that their editors would skin them alive if they didn't capture this moment. It was the first time they were attending a formal event together.

When the white Rolls Royce finally rolled into the driveway, all heads turned towards the luxury car. Cameras began to flash as they were all eager to capture every moment.

When the door opened, Cedric stepped out in a maroon suit, the crowd commented at how handsome and fashionable he looked.

When Cedric would read those comments the next day he would laugh, no one had ever called Cedric Reyes fashionable. Even if he never really changed his wardrobe.

Standing tall, Cedric offered a hand to help Adrianna out of their car. Everyone gasped at the maroon ball gown that she wore. Adrianna looked more like a model or an artist rather than some business woman.

"I bet they think you are gorgeous." Cedric whispered as he gently kissed her earlobe, giving the audience a little public display of affection.

As Cedric and Adrianna walked up several members of the press called out to them, asking questions.

Cedric spotted one reporter that made him grin. This was one of the reporters that had spread rumors about Adrianna being the Reyes Heir's mistress. He had also called his son a bastard.

Cedric had a whole dosie on these people, he wanted to make sure that they regretted their harsh words.

"Adri, do you mind if I put some trash in its place?" Cedric asked his wife. He wouldn't push through with it if Adrianna said no.

To Cedric's surprise, Adrianna nodded and allowed him to be petty in public.

As they walked past the man, Cedric stopped and looked at him.

"Ah, Allan, right?" Cedric asked as he took a step closer to the man.

"Sir?" The reporter asked as he took a step back. He clearly knew that he had done something to offend the couple. "Mr. Reyes, to what do I owe the pleasure." Allan said as he gathered his courage.

"Do you still think my wife is my mistress?" Cedric said with a grin.
