Chapter 2058: Mountain of Blades
“Dead, Yun Yi truly is dead,” the primordial heavenly emperor repeated with anguish.
“Mmhmm,” the newcomer nodded. “I would not be free if she was not dead.”
Violetgrave.
Violetgrave had originally appeared as the physical manifestation of the Netherdark Hell. Only later did Lu Yun understand who she was—Ancestor’s divine weapon.
The god of Mount Tai wasn’t capable of independently creating hell dao and building the five hells by himself. There were many hands in the shadows behind his feats.
Violetgrave was one of the most important links for these accomplishments. She’d hid herself as a sword to conceal her identity, successfully pulling the wool over other people’s eyes. No one had suspected that she was Ancestor’s weapon, or they’d never allow her to assimilate into hell dao.
Now they knew, and that she was a treasure that contained the civilizations of life, but it was too late.
Only Yun Yi had known before this. She’d protected Violetgrave with her strength and also limited everything about her so she could successfully meld into hell dao. Now that Yun Yi was dead, Violetgrave could depart from hell and be truly free.
She came to the World Heart the moment she was a free person.
“Congratulations,” Lu Yun smiled at her.
She smiled back at him. “It’s all thanks to you. Otherwise, I would be a public enemy even after gaining my freedom through Yun Yi’s death. I would have to go on the run and hide from everyone.”
“What are your plans now?” Lu Yun asked.
"I want to visit the nothing. They all say that the nothing is boundless without end, that the Three Thousand is the only existence within it. I don’t believe that. I want to take a look for myself and see what else is out there beyond the nothing.” Yearning filled her eyes. “I’ve left the seed of civilization in the Violetgrave sword. You can take it if you need it.”
Violetgrave retained her old strength—that of Ancestor’s personal weapon. But having been part of the Netherdark Hell for countless eons, she’d long since removed the seed of civilization from herself. That was what everyone wanted from her.
Without that, no one desired to provoke the incredibly strong manifestation of a divine weapon.
“Alright,” Lu Yun nodded.
The sword was Violetgrave’s original form. Relinquishing it meant that she was a true living being and no longer the manifestation of a weapon.
She vanished after her words—the World Heart could not hold her.
The primordial heavenly emperor sighed deeply.
Unrest was dead without hope of salvation. The emperor had absorbed his strength and his nihil cultivation level was fully displayed to Lu Yun. There were no secrets of this cultivation realm that the young man didn’t know.
It was even possible for him to break through to nothing if he wanted, but he’d join their ranks as the lowest on the totem pole. He wouldn’t be able to stay in existence either, he’d at most be able to visit some place like the World Heart.
If he set foot in a place like the Three Thousand, he’d be attacked by the great daos within sanctuary.
The great daos within the Three Thousand remained the same they’d always been and were firmly under the overseer’s control. There were no benefits to becoming a nihil powerhouse now, so Lu Yun ignored the primordial heavenly emperor. He had his own plans in mind.
He also didn’t really approve of the heavenly emperor because the man hadn’t been able to protect his daughter. Yun Yi wouldn’t have died if there’d been any better options or if the heavenly emperor had been willing to do things differently.
Lu Yun flashed to the mountain of blades. A Jin Huo drenched in blood was still climbing it—all of the blades on the mountain were connate divine weapons. Born out of the heavenly dao, a connate weapon’s strength was determined by the strength of the world.
The World Heart was the strongest world in this part of existence, so these blades could easily slice through a peak grand supreme’s body or even kill an empyrean supreme.
The tree god sitting at the peak of the mountain finally opened his eyes. He seemed to be kept here by something and couldn’t move. He could only watch as Jin Huo weathered life and death again and again upon the mountain of blades.
Anyone who wished to save him had to climb the mountain—Jin Huo wouldn’t be able to climb it otherwise with her level of strength. It was a test that someone had set for her, not a condition created by this world.
It naturally wasn’t the tree god who was testing Jin Huo.
Lu Yun sighed softly. Thank goodness he’d come early, or she might really die! She’d already died nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-eight times. There was only one Resurrection Talisman left on her.
At this rate, she’d be doomed after her next death.
Dying here meant that one wouldn’t even leave behind a hint of soul. One directly turned into the will of death and was subjugated to the overseer on the other side.
Lu Yun waved another nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine talismans onto Jin Huo. All things had their limits and the extremity of anything led to backlash. There could at most be nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine Resurrection Talismans on a person at any given time. More than that would lead to immediate recoil that would obliterate the holder.
Having reinforced Jin Huo, Lu Yun stood patiently to watch her ordeal continue.
She turned back to look gratefully at him, then set her jaw and continued climbing.
The Disordered Empyrean Supreme appeared by Lu Yun’s side and sighed softly.
“Were you successful?” He looked at her.
“Yes.” A smile spread across his face. “He has reincarnated into the shamanic race and will be their new master.
“What do you plan on doing now?” Hell dao no longer mattered to the Disordered Empyrean Supreme after she accomplished her goal, but Lu Yun also showed no inclinations of taking it back.
“Conquer the chief worlds, I suppose.” The young man gave it some thought. “I want to fold the entire realm into the World of Immortals. I’ve already sent the dark empyrean supreme to take care of the Infinite Deorc.”
The land of darkness only possessed one empyrean supreme. Since he’d sworn fealty to Lu Yun, then the entire realm was the young man’s.
Conquering the chief worlds was only the first step. He wanted to conquer this entire patch of existence. That would accelerate the primordial world of immortals’ recovery and bring it into the nothing as a portion of true existence.
“Alright, I’ll help you,” the Disordered Empyrean Supreme nodded. “Conquering the chief worlds is an easy task for you now. You don’t even need to do it yourself.”
That was true—Lu Yun’s subordinates were strong enough to accomplish the deed.
“Mmhmm,” he nodded. “So I’m going to the Three Thousand to change the great daos there.”
