Qin Ning thought about what her brother said and shook her head. “I don’t think so. The old man doesn’t have any pockets on him. Disney also has a very strict security check, I don’t think he’s carrying weapons. After all, we have security guards and its broad daylight. I think we will be fine.”
Qin Chu didn’t respond, but clearly, he was reluctant to let his daughters go.
Pudding walked in front of Qin Chu and hugged him. “Daddy, I don’t think that old grandpa is a bad person.”
“Pudding, bad guys will never write the words ‘bad guys’ on their face. So many people seem like one thing but act like another,” Qin Chu patiently explained to his daughter.
“I know. But I think the old grandpa’s eyes look kind and affectionate. I want to go and take a look.” Pudding usually never took the initiative in wanting something. For the first time, however, she was begging to do something, and so, Qin Chu didn’t have the heart to reject her.
“Okay, how about this, Daddy will go with you guys, okay?” Qin Chu finally said.
“Okay!” Pudding nodded.
The twins held on to his hands on each side and walked over to the balloon stand together.
The old man smiled kindly as he watched the three of them walk over. “Hey kiddos, would you like a balloon?”
“Yes!” Pudding and Little Bean both nodded.
“But, I only have one left.” The old man waved the Bambi balloon at them.
Both Pudding and Little Bean went silent for a moment. Qin Chu couldn’t help but feel responsible as there may have been more balloons left if they just came a little earlier.
“Daddy will buy one for you guys at the store later, okay?” Qin Chu tried to cheer up the twins.
Before Little Bean said anything, Pudding began, “You can give this one to Little Sis. She likes Bambi.”
“No. I don’t want it either if Sis isn’t getting one.”
Qin Chu was pleasantly surprised by Little Bean’s remark, as she was usually seen as the more childish one.
“You’re such a wonderful kid! How about this, call me grandpa, and grandpa will make you another one!” The old man smiled.
The twins nodded and at the same time, called out, “Grandpa!”
The old man smiled kindly and took out a couple more balloons. He filled the balloons with air and in an agile manner, turned one of the balloons into a little rabbit.
“Who wants the little rabbit?”
“Give it to Big Sis, she likes rabbits!” Little Bean said excitedly.
The old man handed over the little rabbit to Pudding and the little Bambi to Little Bean. The twins beamed with delight as innocent smiles filled their faces.
Things were always simple and pure when it came to kids. They had no understanding of luxury brands, jewelry, or watches. For all they cared, it was the free simple balloons that made their day.
Seeing the twins smile so sweetly, the old man couldn’t help but want to squeeze their chubby cheeks.
With fast reflexes, Qin Chu pulled the girls back ever so slightly.
The old man smiled awkwardly as his hand hung in the air for a moment.
“Thank you,” Qin Chu thanked him while staying alert.
“No worries.”
“Is she their mother?” The old man pointed at Huo Mian from afar.
“Yes, the long-haired woman is their mother, and the short hair woman is their auntie,” Qin Chu explained.
The old man smiled and nodded, his eyes looking lost in thought as he looked at Huo Mian’s direction.
Qin Chu turned around and gathered the girls. “Let’s go back, Mommy will be worried.”
From behind, the old man simply sighed with emotion and said, “The girls are very cute. Their eyes are beautiful, just like their mother’s.”
Qin Chu furrowed his brows and turned his head, only to find no one behind him anymore.
It was rather baffling.
Somewhere within Disney, the old man ripped off his mask. Underneath it was a face that seemed slightly time-beaten.
Suddenly, his phone rang, and Lu Yan’s voice came through the phone, “Hey Dad, did you see my sis and the kids?”
