202 Strong Reaction
(Jane’s PoV)
I was familiar with how a consciousness looked like; bright with spiritual power went to and fro. Normally, the movement of the spiritual power would be calm and smooth and in only two ways. But, the way I saw Tom’s consciousness... it was a mess.
The spiritual power inside moved randomly and fast. Just seeing it alone could make my head hurt. No wonder he would have a hard time manipulating them.
But, what caused them to be agitated like this?
I floated down from where I was standing while looking at the agitated movement of the spiritual power. My eyes scanned the room and found Tom was lying down on the white floor while gasping for breath with his eyes closed. It seemed like he didn’t notice my presence.
On the other hand, Tom was not the only one that I noticed.
I noticed other presence in his consciousness. Squinting my eyes to one direction, I saw a red dot further up ahead. It was really in contrast with the white surrounding, that’s why I could easily notice it.
The question was... Did Tom notice it, too?
Cancelling my plan to land on the white floor, I sped up towards the red dot in a flash. Upon closer inspection, I realized the red dot wasn’t really small.
.....
It was the size of people’s head. It seemed like it was quite a distance from where I appeared to where this red dot was. Red ball, I mean.
Also, was it just me or this odd ball was really trembling?
I frowned as I looked at it closely. This odd red ball, even while trembling, was emitting a strange aura. Was it supposed to be terrifying? If it was, then it succeeded since its presence could make all Tom’s spiritual power ran amok.
“Hey.” I poked it lightly with my finger. It felt warm and soft to touch; like a baby’s cheeks. I thought it would attack me, but it trembled even more. Instead of feeling terrified, I felt amused with the way this red ball acted towards me.
This red ball didn’t seem ordinary, I thought. The fact that it could enter into Tom’s consciousness without him noticing it was exceptional enough. What kind of thing was it actually?
“Hey, why don’t you change into something that can speak? Staying like an odd ball is seriously not cute.” I said to the red ball while poking it here and there. “And stop emitting your strange aura. You’re making Tom unable to control his power.”
Hearing what I said, the ball trembled even more and attempted to run away. Of course, it failed. I grabbed it with both of my hands, lifted it towards my eye level while ignoring its trembling body.
“Change now, or I’ll force you.” I frowned at it. My hands were starting to warm up, ready to burst this ball if it dared to do anything funny.
“I’ll change! I’ll change!” It shouted hastily after hearing my threat.
One threat and it surrendered itself. Was I that scary? With its ability to stay in Tom’s consciousness and disturbed the spiritual power, I thought that it was a remarkable entity. I expected a resistance from this odd ball, actually. Who knew it would surrender itself with just one threat from me?
Before I could complain inwardly more, the red ball in my hands let out a puff sound and it turned into a young boy who looked... unique. But, from his appearance I knew that this young boy in front of me was not pure human, even though ninety eight percent he looked human enough for my eyes.
Despite his unique appearance, I still found him cute with him fidgeting like that.
“What’s your name?” I asked him as friendly as I could.
“Putra. Putra Semesta.” He answered in a small voice. His round eyes traveled here and there, didn’t know where to look.
“Does Tom know you’re here?”
Putra nodded in response to my question. That was strange. He knew?
“What is your connection with him?” I sat in front of him and pulled him down with me to sit on the floor comfortably.
“Eh, I...” He was still trembling and from the look and sound of it, he was flustered with either my presence or my question.
“Tom is one of my people. I think you know that. That’s why I need to know who you are to him so that I can make extra preparation if something were to happen.”
“That...” He still looked hesitant.
I sighed. This boy really kept his lips sealed about his connection with Tom. It was either it was really a big secret or he was lying. Whatever it was, I had no other choice but to ask Tom directly. But, I couldn’t make my presence so clear to him in his consciousness. I could only ask him when I came out from this place and he finished his training.
Then, I needed to take care of this young boy before I could do those. After all, stabilizing his terrifying aura was more important for now.
By the way, where the hell did he get this terrifying aura with his cute face? Death aura was so thick around him that it caused Tom’s spiritual power agitated. Not to mention the resentment. But, this kid didn’t look like he was affected by those. He looked cute and pure.
However, underneath his strong death and resentment aura, I sensed something stronger. It was something pure, something close to human’s spiritual power, but his form is different. The deeper I looked into him, the stronger I found it.
What was it?
“Putra, what are you?” I looked at him curiously.
Hearing my question, the young boy in front of me was trembling with his eyes widened in shock. Even with his dark skin, I could notice that he was getting pale.
What was happening with this kid?
I was sure I wasn’t scary at all and it was our first meeting. So, why would he get this kind of strong reaction towards me?
