"Just what happened at this moment, Roland?" Amy asked with her gaze now on the striker. "You could have gone for the top and that could have been more difficult for Dave to save."
"Well, I thought the opposite of what you just said now." The striker replied after a few seconds.
That forced a little chuckle from the host but she wasn't the only one who found what he just said funny.
Perez had to cover his mouth with his hand to kill the sound and Mateo wasn't even trying to hide it. Dave just didn't find it funny.
"I mean I've been keeping track of most of their matches since after our first meeting this season and most of the impossible saves he makes are with balls sent really high toward the angles, I just thought maybe a low ball would be harder for him to save but I guess I was wrong." He illustrated.
"Oh, so you've been keeping track of their matches and your attention has been on Dave specifically, that's new information." She remarked before turning her gaze to her tablet to note down the information.
"Yeah, I'm a striker, my job is primarily scoring goals in a match so I always try to pick up important information about the opposition defense and goalkeeper especially when we're going up against tough opponents and this season Unique FC have been quite the tough opponents." The striker expressed. "I knew something was different about Dave right from the start of the season but I sort of shrugged it off with the thought that it wouldn't make that much of a difference against us, that was until after our first match, I knew I had to start taking him way more seriously."
"Yeah, ending that match with a draw was quite lucky for you guys, you met a Dave that could stop you right on your tracks, a very different Dave from the one you had to face last season." Amy articulated. "Now I have a question for you before we continue all this."
"Okay." He responded with a nod.
"Do you think Dave is the best goalkeeper in the Bilbeth Premier League this season?"
"Well, yeah, that's very obvious." The striker replied almost immediately with a nod.
<Wow, most players would have annoyingly gone that question and I wouldn't even blame him if he chose to do that because of Perez being here>
'Yeah, he's a very honest person.'
"I mean the stats don't lie, he has more saves, crucial saves, he has more clean sheets and he has conceded fewer goals. I know this can't really be used to grade a goalkeeper when comparing him to other goalkeepers but he also has a good number of goals and assists to his name which is just wild for a goalkeeper.
"Perez has also been great this season, I mean he's saved us in a couple of matches that could have ended as draws, he's an easy second because Dave has just been exceptional this season."
"I agree," Perez said with a nod just after his teammate stopped speaking.
"That's a pretty straightforward answer and it looks like you also spoke Perez's mind. Thank you, Roland."
"You're welcome."
"Now back to the moment that could have ended terribly for Unique FC and given the upper hand back to Supreme United but the opposite ended up happening." She expressed before turning her gaze to Dave. "Now tell me, Dave, this situation looked really edgy for you, I just want to know, what were you thinking at this moment, had you already made up your mind or was it just an impulsive action as soon as he sent the ball coming your way?"
Dave didn't say anything immediately as he flexed his shoulders and sat up properly on the stool first.
"Well, I knew he was going to put it below judging from the way he placed his head. Wait, let me rephrase that, it was more of a hunch and given the fact that it was an intense moment, I just had to go with it." The goalkeeper replied.
"Hmm, a hunch huh? So if Roland had decided to send it flying toward the top bin it would have probably gone in." She speculated before quickly glancing toward Roland.
"Yeah, probably," Dave replied with a nod.
'Or I would have just used thrust and still stopped it.'
"Wow, you must be shocked hearing that now, Roland." She said with her gaze now on the striker.
"There's no crying over spilled milk." The striker shrugged.
"Yeah, but it still hurts to find out that there was something you could have easily done to avoid spilling it." She replied. "But anyway, let's take a quick look at more of the wonderful moments of the match last night because there were a lot of them and we can't talk about all of them or no one's going home today."
Just after saying that, an Allegro began to play in the background, it started off with heart-pumping drum beats that got even faster the moment a violin joined in to hype up the fast-paced music and just when it seemed like the peak was about to be reached, a saxophone joined in with style.
The musical instruments resonating together to create the magical and energetic sound they were hearing now was doing marvelously in carrying the highlights from last night's match and the screaming from Jim with every strike made it even better.
The piece of highlight on the screen now was when Dave attempted a shot from his box after receiving the ball from Martinez.
He tried to stuff it in from the top right side because he was aware of Perez's level as a goalkeeper but he ended up overdoing it, the ball hit the crossbar head-on on and there was no stopping it as it flew over for a goal kick.
Most of the highlights were of Dave saving close shots from Supreme United and most of the missed chances from them
It didn't take long before the highlights came to an end and the music which Mateo was just vibing to with a smile on his face had to die down.
The show continued with Amy bringing up certain moments from other matches for them to talk about and the fact that they didn't know anything about what happened in those matches besides the scoreline meant that they had interesting responses.
However, they only talked about those for a few minutes because their host had to bring everything to an end soon.
"Well, it looks like it's almost time to wrap this up but before that, I have a question for all of you." She disclosed.
"Okay." Mateo and Roland's voice resounded in unison.
"First the Supreme United players but don't answer until I ask your rivals their question. Do you think Unique FC can win the league this season?" She asked before turning her gaze to the right where Dave and Mateo were sitting. "And the Unique FC players, do you think Supreme United can win the league this season?"
"No way!" The four declared in perfect unison.
She seemed to have turned on the echo effect of the speaker at that moment because that was still repeating in the room.
"And with that, it's another wrap for the Bilbeth Premier League weekly, thanks for watching and I'll catch you all in the next one."
