Chapter 28: Fenrir Store
After a half-hour's drive, they arrived in a neighborhood that was noticeably better than Erik's. Although it wasn't exactly the safest or the most pleasant, they were now in considerably nicer surroundings.
Erik pulled up in front of a modern building, while Violet went to park the motorcycle in the building's garage.
"Wow... I didn't imagine Violet lived in a place like this."
With just a glance at the surroundings, she realized that this neighborhood was among the most distinguished. It was enough to look at the tall buildings and notice the large number of dogs present, all of recognizable breeds such as Barbet, Border Collie, Labrador Retriever, and Golden Retriever.
Erik was truly amazed. He had never been in such a place before. He came to think that maybe he was seeing wrong, rubbed his eyes a little and found that it was still the same scenery, with the same dogs and buildings.
'I can't believe I'm going to live in a nice neighborhood like this...looks like I have the system to thank for this.'
"Let's go in!" said Violet, appearing at his side.
"Oh, yeah? Let's go!" replied Erik.
They entered the building and headed straight for one of the higher floors.
"I welcome you to my modest home," Violet said, showing them to their apartment.
The place was a thousand times better than where Erik lived. There was elegant furniture, a flat-screen TV on the wall, a huge window overlooking downtown, and a lovely dining room for four. There was even a white cat resting on one of the pieces of furniture.
'Could this be paradise?'
Erik was in awe looking at Violet's luxurious apartment. He couldn't believe that she lived in such a place.
'Make yourself comfortable, this is your room,' Violet said, indicating a door next to the hallway.
Erik walked through the luxurious apartment until he reached the door Violet had pointed out to him with great anticipation, eager to discover what his new space would be like. He opened the door slowly, revealing the interior.
The room had a double bed, a desk, air conditioning, and much more than he had even dared to imagine in his wildest dreams. He gaped, speechless, as inside he devoted a kind of thanks to the system.
If it weren't for the system, he would be in dire straits. He wouldn't have been able to register as a hunter, he wouldn't even have met Violet. Nor would he have the opportunity to live in a good neighborhood or enjoy a room as luxurious as the one he had in front of his eyes. Everything, absolutely everything, he owed to the system.
"How do you like the room?" asked Violet with a smile.
"Can I really stay in this room?", Erik asked a little hesitantly.
"Sure, if you weren't, I wouldn't have suggested that you move in with me," Violet said with complete honesty.
"Come in and drop your things off while I take a bath so we can talk. What are we going to do to deal with the president of the Luminis guild?" she added as she walked away towards her room in the back.
Watching Violet slowly walk away, he entered the room, scanning his surroundings with an amazed expression on his face. he placed his belongings next to the bed and lay down on it, feeling his body sink into the soft mattress, giving his the feeling of being in paradise.
"Ah~ I've never rested on something as comfortable as this. I really made a good decision in accepting it," Erik exclaimed with a satisfied expression, reveling in the softness of the mattress and the comfort of the bed.
It's understandable that Erik would act so childishly. For as long as he can remember, he hasn't experienced anything like it. He has spent his whole life trying to survive in a world where you never know when a monster might burst through the door and devour you. So it's only natural that he's so surprised and amazed to be in a place a thousand times better than the one he knew before, don't you think?
Completely relaxed in bed, he opened the rewards window and, as usual, selected 'Confirm'.
[You have received the following rewards]
- Five Fenrir Points
- Random skill
- Knowledge of swordplay
[You have received five Fenrir Points]
[You have received the skill: Sharpened Sense]
[Start of implementation of 'Knowledge of swordplay'.... 1%... 2%... 4%...]
"Well, here we go again..."
Erik closed his eyes, bracing himself for the pain he was going to suffer when he started implementing sword knowledge in his head. However, unlike what Erik expected, he didn't feel the sharp pain of the first time, but rather slight twinges in his brain as the knowledge etched itself into his mind.
Tti-ring
[Implementation completed]
"Phew... good thing it wasn't as painful as I expected."
He was quite pleased to note that this time he didn't have to endure the severe headache he experienced when he was implanted with the spear-wielding knowledge. Although he didn't know if it was because it was less intense this time, he had no way of finding out.
'Well, let's not think about that now. Let's better take a look at the description of this new skill.'
Deciding not to give the matter any more thought, since his head wasn't hurting that much, Erik proceeded to check the description of the skill he had just acquired.
[Sharpened Sense]
Skill type: Passive
End Energy required to activate: None
Grants intensified and highly developed perception of all natural senses.
"This is quite a useful skill."
Erik was really pleased with the new skill he had acquired. It was excellent, he would even say perfect, considering his senses were already good, but now they were much better than before.
And at that moment...
"I still haven't checked the contents of the Fenrir store..."
He had completely forgotten that when he had risen in rank he had unlocked the Fenrir store, and had yet to take a look at it.
"I hope it has skills that aren't system-related and are quite impressive."
With great anticipation, Erik opened his status window and went straight to the bottom section, where the 'Fenrir Store' option was located.

Note about the Store: These items and skills are imbued with the power of 'End' and these are the ones currently available, more items will be added in the future.
"Wow, this store is really well organized," Erik exclaimed as he observed how everything was thoroughly explained. However, he noticed that none of the items had a price. Another thing that caught his attention was that.....
'All items are related to the name of the system',
Erik expected something out of the ordinary, like in the novels he had read about systems. However, here everything was linked to the name 'Fenrir'. There was nothing out of the system, like an extraordinary ability or something similar.
Despite this, he was not disappointed. Everything this store offered was of very good quality and, from what he had read, they were ultimately imbued with the Power of 'End', which meant that only he could make use of them.
"Well let's look at how much this item is worth."
Erik picked a few of the items to look at how much one of them costs to see if he can buy one.
[Fenrir Skin]
Cost: 50 Fenrir Points
A cloak made from the skin of the beast of the end Fenrir, which provides resistance to extreme cold and increases resistance to magical powers and runes.
Erik after looking at the price of the cape, closed the window of the store, since he knew that for the moment he didn't have to buy this cape, because it only had less than thirty Fenrir points. He got out of bed and went to the bathroom to clean himself.
