Although Zhang Liling still wanted to argue with him, but she managed to collect her emotions the next second.
Since he has promised to take her there after their engagement, then he would.
She trusted him, but the question now was, when would they get engaged?
As that question rang bells in her head, she licked her lips while gazing at him intently, intending to question.
Feeling the heated gaze on him, Fang Bingwen paused the movement of his fingers to stare at her.
As if knowing the kind of thoughts that were running like current in her head, plus the words at the tip of her tongue, he quickly picked up the piece of beef he cut for himself and immediately sent it into her mouth without warning.
"You should eat instead of staring at me."
Having no choice, Zhang Liling chewed on the meat in her mouth with a smile on her face.
This was the first time he was feeding her meat like that and she couldn't help but to forget all her worries in one go.
"Your mum's flight is scheduled to land by 6 am tomorrow..."
At that reminder, Zhang Liling felt the energy burbling in her, quickly dissipate in the air.
Her shoulders slouched, as her facial expression changed, expressing defeat.
"I don't know why that flight was the only one she saw available to book. My sleep is going to be disturbed."
These past two days, waking up by six in the morning, was hard for Zhang Liling as she was using this period to get some rest.
After a long while, she finally discovered the luxury those that got to sleep in, in the morning, enjoyed, making her feel so helpless.
How she so much wished to go back to those times.
"I have already scheduled for the driver to come over to your place by 5 to pick you up." Fang Bingwen said as he poured them a glass of wine.
He could already see the laziness spreading through her body.
Hearing that, her eyes widened in surprise as an idea immediately came to her head.
"Bingwen, why don't you follow me to the airport?" She said grabbing his hand before he could pick up his glass of red wine.
"Why?" He asked, trying to free his hand from her hold, but she was so stubborn, leaving him no choice but to grab the wine glass with his left hand.
"Don't you want to welcome your future mother-in-law? And besides, she would be very happy and touched with your presence."
Her eyes were already shining brightly as she tried to convince him to follow her to the airport.
"How did you come up with that idea?" Fang Bingwen asked, refusing to blindly play along with her.
It seemed that all her life was dedicated to playing games and thinking of a way to drag him to where she wanted.
"Is it not a good idea? I'm trying to help you have a close relationship with my mother. Although on the surface, she might seem to like you, but it is not enough to proof that you can take care of her daughter."
Saying this, she slowly let go of his hand with a proud look on her face, as if to say that he had no choice but to listen to her.
Despite knowing the game she was playing, Fang Bingwen gave up, agreeing to follow her to the airport to pick up her mother.
The next day, as early as 5:30 in the morning, they were already at the airport to pick Song Jujing up. And just like Zhang Liling's prediction, the woman was happy to see her future son-in-law in the picture.
Song Jujing was smiling from ear to ear when she caught sight of the tall figure trailing behind her daughter.
She abandoned Zhang Liling and went straight for him, giving him all the attention.
Zhang Liling who was abandoned by her mother, gave Fang Bingwen a sign with her eyes as if to show him what she meant when she said her mother would be happy with his presence.
Fang Bingwen could only smile as he exchanged pleasantries with his future mother-in-law before leading the way for them as the driver that cane out with them took her luggage and followed behind them.
"Bingwen, you didn't have to come. I don't know why this daughter of mine dragged you out here by this time of the day," Song Jujing said with a small smile while holding unto his arm.
"Liling had no hand in this. I wanted to come with her," He said in defence as he supported her by the arm.
This would have been the time the young lady would have been happy as a result of her man's defence and protection, but there was a scowl currently sitting on her face as she watched her mother's interaction with Fang Bingwen.
'Am I no longer existing? Or have I disappeared from the face of the earth without knowing?' Zhang Liling asked herself as she followed behind them with pouted lips.
A frown settled on her face as her intense gaze was fixed on their backs. She looked annoyed and jealous for being neglected.
Fortunately, she didn't have to wallow in sorrow for a long time because as soon as they got outside and walked to the car.
Fang Bingwen helped the car doo open for Song Jujing to step inside as the driver put her things in the trunk.
Shutting the door with a smile still lingering on his face, he turned around only to almost bump into the little woman staring at him with grievances written all over her face.
Taking a look at the arms folded below her chest added to that intense stare from her, subconsciously, the smile on his face widened in a bid to please her.
"Liling, come and sit at the back with your mother." He said. Then without waiting to get a positive reaction from her, he took her hand and led her to the other side of the car.
Zhang Liling had a lot of words for him, but she optioned to remain calm even as the words were already at the tip of her tongue.
Maybe the attention and reaction she wanted from him, would be more fruitful if she treated him with silence at this point.
