The mansion of the fire general Egran was huge, at least 2000 metres in radius. It was guarded by armoured orcs who patrolled around the perimeters.

There were even a few dog-like monsters called [Abyssal Hound] roaming around. I guessed they were too stationed to look out for trespassers.

However, escaping their sharp noses was an easy feat for my almighty [Camouflage] skill.

Walking inside the mansion, I was surprised to see a few Lizardmen moving around.

'Aren't Lizardmen water creatures? What are they doing on plain land, that too on the Fire General's  house?'

There were actually a lot of Lizardmen inside the mansion, and from the looks of it, they looked more like residents than guards and housemaids.

'Won't I be able to manage infinite [Camouflage] like this?'

I was surprised at how my mana went down every second only to be filled up again due to the abyss' increased health and mana regeneration.

So I could basically be invisible in the abyss for as long as I want, as long as I didn't get hit or someone detected me. After all, [Camouflage] was still an inferior version of stealth or complete invisibility. It had many drawbacks, which included leaving behind my own footprints if I wasn't careful enough.

Listening to the Lizard folks talk, I managed to learn that the fire general Egran was currently in his study.

Slowly, I reached his study room. The door was closed, and if I entered through it, I would end up making some noise. So I patiently waited for it to open up and present me with an opportunity to slip inside.

After fifteen minutes or so, a small Lizardman ran towards the study and opened the door.

"Daddy! Daddy! Play with me."

"....."

I slipped inside the room as soon as I got the chance and saw the little lizard man hanging on the tail of a giant lizard man, almost 1.5 times taller than the average lizard man.

This lizard man had a deeper green skin colour than the others and his skin looked much thicker. There were two moustache-like whiskers around its nose, and he was wearing leather armour even inside the mansion.

'No doubt about it, that's the guy.'

I saw the shining silver name tag of the big lizard man.

[Egran]

[Level 203]

[150,000/150,000]

Unlike Felice who had a proper name with a surname, Egran only had just the first name without any surname or middle name, indicating that he wasn't nobility, rather than that he became a general based on his own strength.

That also explained why he was on the outskirts of the Chasm Empire even with such a level while people like Felice had territories at major locations even with lower levels.

The lizard man who was seriously staring at the book in his hand immediately took out his reading glasses and smiled brightly seeing his daughter. He slowly rubbed her head with his three-fingered hands as he spoke.

"Aww, my baby angel. We'll play later, okay? Daddy's got a nasty little visitor."

Egran's smile froze as he said in a chilling voice, filled with craziness.

'How the fuck?'

Seeing the loving scene in front of me, I had forgotten that he was the butcher who murdered Jeze's whole village.

'Why did the developers have to be so realistic? It really picks on my conscience to kill such a little girl's father.'

[...]

I swear I could feel the speechlessness of the system as if it wanted to remind me how I had butchered baby bees and drones.

I didn't know how Egran had spotted me, but I didn't expect any less from someone as high-level as him. He wouldn't be a general of abyss if he didn't reach the minimum standard required to be one.

"Come out you sneaky little bastard!"

Egran said with a smile that barely tried to suppress his insanity in front of his little daughter.

"You wished for it!"

I made two clones of Bloodsong in my hand and threw them at Egran's throat.

—-Tttt!

Before the dagger even reached halfway, Egran had jumped towards it and caught both the daggers with his jaws.

'...Dafuk!'

Even if the daggers contained half the stats of actual Bloodsong, but catching them with just his teeth? Wasn't this too much?

I cancelled the clones as I lunged forward with the real Bloodsong in my hand.

Extending my mana onto Bloodsong, I formed a larger blade around it, turning it into a sword as it swung toward Egran's neck.

[Weak spot detection has been activated, hitting a weak spot will deal additional critical damage to the target.]

I saw a red mark, the system's pointer for a weak spot on Egran's neck, and proceeded to launch my sword on his neck.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

"....?"

Before I hit Egran's neck, I heard a loud kid's cry. It was so loud that my eardrums felt tingles in them. In the moment of confusion, Egran disappeared from my front and I felt a slam at the back of my neck.

—-Kuhk!

I spilt a mouthful of saliva, falling face-first onto the ground. I could see the cute lizard man child taking her tongue out to tease me, forming a V-shaped heart with two of her fingers.

[You have lost 5490 HP!]

What the fuck?

Isn't this cheating? The kid used an underhanded method to catch me off-guard and help her dad as if she had done it tons of times before.

'Like father like daughter! I shouldn't have been fooled by her harmless appearance. Damn it!'

—-Clink! Clack!

I could hear the sound of metal clanking, and I immediately stood up from the ground and fixed my stance. I still had cooldown over skills that I hadn't personally created, and hence I couldn't use [Camouflage] for another 5 minutes, not that it would work against this guy.

Egran had taken two axes from the wall as he swung them at me with incredible proficiency.

'Enough playing around, or I'll really die.'

I wanted to practice my hand-to-hand combat with this guy, but that didn't seem like an option anymore, so I had to switch to my other unofficial class, a magician.

Obviously, I didn't have any such class, but if I did say that I was a magician, literally anyone would believe it.

"Elemental Vortex!"

I started gathering my mana around my hand, borrowing the power of water around my palm.

—-Swing!

I immediately retracted my hand when I saw that the axe was about to fall on it and split it in half.

'Fuck! Why don't you guys play by the rules!'

My skill was cancelled mid-casting. Obviously, I had been too complacent thinking that my enemies would wait for the few seconds that it takes to form a magic skill.

—-Sigh!

I tried to calm down and think things through as I kept avoiding Egran's continuous onslaught.

I backed off a bit to gain a bit of distance between us, hoping to gain an advantage and be able to cast a skill.

As soon as I backed off, Egran's mouth started swelling as if it was about to explode.

"....?"

'Is that a….fuck!'

Before I got the chance, a wave of fierce fire hit me, without giving me a chance to escape.

"AARRGHHH!"

[You have lost 15779 HP!]

[You have suffered critical damage!]

[You'll be stunned for 2 seconds!]

[Status conditions don't work on a legend! Status condition 'Stun' has been neutralised!]

[You have received heavy fire damage!]

[You have been burnt!]

[You'll keep losing  100 HP per second for 5 seconds!]

[Status conditions don't work on a legend! Status condition 'Burnt' has been neutralised!]

Before I had a chance to recover, an Axe fell on my left shoulder, and I barely managed to avoid the axe that was about to behead me.

[You have lost 5887 HP!]

[You have less than 20% HP remaining!]

—-Jump!

I jumped back and ran out of the study room to the courtyard. I had clearly underestimated the prowess of a general of the abyss, and the fact that I was much weaker in total combat power compared to it.

I had recently continuously won without much effort due to my magical skills. I had forgotten to take into consideration a scenario where I won't be able to use them due to how fast my opponent reacted.

"Why would you even bother assassinating me with that meagre strength?"

Egran snorted coldly as he came into the courtyard.

"Oh, aren't you that guy? The guy who the emperor was the little saviour of our Rewan village? The emperor told us to not mess with you? Is he for real—"

Before he could finish speaking, a sharp vortex of water hit Egran directly on his face.

'Good thing he was an idiot enough to give me time for casting!'

[You have dealt 77,989 damage to the target!]

[The target has lost more than 50% of their HP in a single hit!]

[The target has been stunned for 2 seconds!]

Before Egran got any time to react, I utilised the two seconds gap to form Ether Bullets around my fingertips.

"You sneaky motherfuc–"

Egran roared as soon as his stun duration was over and jumped toward me at incredible speed.

"You don't have the right to call me sneaky when you play dirty yourself."

[You have dealt 44,999 to the target!]

[You have dealt 44,999 to the target!]

[You have defeated Egran, the Fire General of Abyss!]

[Fame increased by 2000!]

[2,993,875,000 experience points have been…..]]

[.....]

"That's what you get for playing dirty."

"Daaaaddddd!"

Yikes, kids!
