Hermes Library.

"Maedsises, I thought with their queen all of them have disappeared," I asked to the figure cloaked in the mist.

Even after decades of times. I wasn't able to guess, the identity of the being.

I have a few guesses, but I didn't dare to voice it out.

"Their queen was smart; it had spread its seeds before it joined the war," replied the figure clad in the mist, while it twirled the fingers.

With every movement of the beings' hands, the changes are happening in the tower.

Changes, that even she couldn't understand, despite it being her tower.

Once upon a time, she thought, she understood the design well, but now, she knows, she could barely understand them.

She had found the designs in a very dangerous place. It was a sheer luck; she had found them and spent a long time forging them.

By the time, she had finished with the tower; there was nothing left on her except for her precious books.

It took everything she had. She even needs to sell some of her books; they were some of the most precious ones in the world and even now she misses them terribly.

"What are you planning to do with Maedsises? Do you have any use for it, your majesty?" I asked, and the being turned to me.

"Still trying to guess my identity?" asked the being and I smiled.

"To answer your question. No, I don't have any use for it, but your little tower does; it's energy will fix some of the damage, your tower has," the being replied.

My eyes lit up at hearing that.

The tower may look pristine in shape, but it is far from it. It's in a terrible shape. It had healed some of the damage, thanks to the being.

Now, it will be even more.

I wish the critter would have been a little stronger. It would have helped a little more with the damage.

The figure looked so different from the things earlier.

It is humanoid, with two legs and four arms. It had claws instead of hand-like a thing and a silvery body.

Its face is perfectly round, with round eyes, a button nose, full mouth, and pointed ears. It even had hair, darker than the night.

It is not these things that shocked me. What shocked me, is the childlike face of it.

It is not childlike, but is a child; at least it looked like it, and a damn beautiful one.

My mind is telling me, that I should be horrified, but I am not. Instead, I am feeling enamored by it.

It seemed to have sensed me as it turned to me.

"Hello," it said in a voice, that felt like it belonged to an angel. "Hi," I replied.

Instantly, the cute angelic smile vanished from its eye and sparks of anger lit up in its blood-red eyes.

"You are a slave. You should be respectful to me," it said, and I wanted to bow my head. Instead, my eyes blazed in deep anger.

So much, I didn't care about consequences of next words.

"I will not," I replied, with a mad courage, that seemed to come out of nowhere.

I should have been respectful. Let it believe, I am in its control. So, even if the didn't act; I will have a chance to be free one day when I become powerful enough.

Now, it had all gone down the drain.

A surprise appeared in its eyes, and I felt it focused on me.

I felt like, a great demon was looking at me. Demon of such power, that I have no resistance and could kill me at any moment.

My whole body had started to shake under that terribly powerful child-looking thing's eyes.

"The compulsion didn't affect you," it said, and I felt a spark of fear appearing in its eyes for a moment.

The runes lit up around my body, and they began to send waves. These waves are going so deep, I had never seen myself.

Even my inheritance didn't go so deep as these red waves are going.

"It wasn't that powerful," I replied with a shrug. Immediately, its eyes become intense, before turning gentle the next moment, and an enchanting smile appears on its face.

"Tell me, how you were able to remain unaffected by the compulsion of my servant?" it asked.

I could feel the power of the compulsion and it is at least hundreds of times stronger than that of the thing, but like its compulsion, I remained unaffected by it.

"I told you, it's not that powerful," I replied, and the gentle expression disappeared from its face.

"Who are you? Are you a herald?" it asked, while silver and black powers came out of its body and moved around it like it was expecting the attack at any moment.

I could also see, the scrip chain brightening up. It seemed to be ready to escape needs to be.

"I don't know, what herald means, but I am certainly not one," I replied.

I don't think, it means Prime. It's like the stage above Prime; I might be wrong, and it might refer to Silver Prime or Golden Prime.

"Then how are you, able to remain unaffected by my words?" it asked.

"That, I could tell you," I replied, while its focus on me deepened.

"You know, you aren't the only guest in me, and seeing how you didn't sense them at all, they are likely really stronger than you," I said, and alarm flashed in its.

I felt a shudder before the surrounding energies intensified. So, had a script, which began to send the waves even deeper into me.

"I told you, they are much stronger than you. You will not find them,"

It didn't even look at me. Instead, I felt the script chain blazing brighter than before and even the coffin hummed.

Hun!

It turned to the energy and moved when something incredible happened.

The bright violet-gold lines materialized around my body.

In an instant, they tore through the scrip covering me, while forming a sphere of their own, in place of the red sphere had been.

The strings had crushed it before taking its place.

The red sphere had been a protection. This string sphere is a prison.
