Overburst!
The power of the overburst filled me, and I moved with the speed I hadn't before and appeared behind the beastman, to its and three others' horror.
As I did, I swung my sword hard toward the Beastman. If the attack succeeded; he would die.
"Aeran saves me!"
Tiger Beastman cried out and the powerful aura that even made me skip a beat enveloped me and I saw an Eagle Beastman appear beside me and swung its saber to stop my sword.
I could see the relief appearing in the face of the Tiger Beastman and others as he appeared.
Its saber appeared beside my sword and was about to move forward to stop my sword when suddenly something shocking happened. The Eagle Beastman's saber stopped on its spot, and he froze.
The first person to get shocked by this suddenness is the Eagle Beastman itself.
He couldn't understand how he was suddenly frozen, that he couldn't even twitch, despite using all his strength.
Puch!
My sword reached the Tiger Beastman and just when it was about to decapitate it, I flicked my wrist and changed the position of my sword from neck to its here, where I sent a large number of energies.
There is no way, I will give the bastard such an easy death. They will suffer as they would have made many of their victims suffer.
"Ahhhh!"
The three shouted and fell down hard and started to spasm.
The bonding method was amazing, but it had serious side effects. What is happening to them is one of those, and it is a good thing because the overburst had made me weak for a few minutes.
Twenty-two minutes later, I walked out of the abode in a hidden place. The five are suffering the pain, they had never suffered in their life.
As for the three victims, they have been caught. They are also in the abode, unconscious, but would wake up in a few minutes. It will be up to them, to give the cultist a quick death or let them suffer an inhuman pain.
I resumed my journey while spreading my soul waves further.
It had become completely dark, and I should have set up an abode and rest, but decided to continue until I could. I had spent some time dealing with the cultists and I like to make up for that.
Unfortunately, I didn't. Seventeen minutes later; I had brought out my abode and entered the room.
There are five Sky Sovereigns around, while some of them are far, some are close, and I didn't want to risk being eaten by those monsters for an hour of the journey.
As I entered my abode, I sat down and closed my eyes.
The battle had lasted for a few minutes, but it had tired me. It is not just the overburst, but also the injuries. I had received hundreds of them, covering nearly all parts of my body.
I had beaten those cultists, but the risk was too high.
Especially at the beginning. If the one that is hiding has taken the action from the beginning. Then, I wouldn't have had any other option than to burn my blood.
I mean, what else could I have done? The Sky Sovereign hiding was really powerful, and the surprising thing was, it had never used the method. All his strength was from the conventional ways.
The cults keep such members; they are able to infiltrate through organizations much more easily than those who use the method.
Speaking of cultists, those bastards have killed a lot of people. Their storages have been filled with the storage rings of their victims.
The elf had even kept the hair of his victim as a souvenir. I will bury them once I get out of here.
I remained sitting on the chair for more than half an hour before walking into the shower and washing away all the blood. I stayed there for twenty minutes, before I walked out, feeling less tired than before.
After I got out of the room, I had directly walked into the kitchen and began cooking myself dinner.
The dinner was simple, and I finished it within a few minutes before washing up the plates.
I lay on the couch but didn't close my eyes and instead took a book. A paper book: it was in the collection that Marina gifted me before we left for this world.
She had said, she wanted me to read all the books in their before we meet again in this world.
I opened the book, and I saw her handwriting, quoting her favorite line in the book. She had done it with every book.
Seeing it, my eyes couldn't tear up and I quickly changed the page.
Sometimes, it is very difficult for me to read the books. I would take them out and smell her fragrance and just wallow in her memories, instead of reading the book she had given me.
I don't want to do that today. I want to finish this book.
I began to read it and soon got so engrossed in it, that I forgot everything but the book. I had even stopped, seeing the security updates flashing in front of me, every half an hour, and only saw them, when I had finished the book.
"Like always, Marina had impeccable taste," I said as I looked at the book, before storing it back on the shelf carefully.
I cleared my mind and looked at the updates. There is not much, other than information about monsters that arrived close to the abode.
There had been one battle. It was far away from the abode, but since it was Sky Sovereign fighting it, the abode was able to sense it.
I looked at all the updates before closing it and walking into my bedroom.
I am not going to enter my core. I am going to sleep, I will finish what I have to do in my core, after I wake up.
