Chapter 2920 Absorption I

BAMMMM!

The huge ball of branches hit the ground hard, creating a massive shock and sound, but I did not hear any of that, not even a whisper or shake.

Even those outsides wouldn't be able to hear anything, as a domain that was also moving with a ball had absorbed everything; it seemed like a forest falling down gently as a feather.

'Now the question is, why did it let the ball fall down,' I asked, and I did not have to wait for long as the answer soon began to reveal itself.

A few seconds after the battle fell down, the branches moved. They began to expand and dug deep into the ground and began spreading like roots.

These branches are not burying deeper, but they spread wide at a shocking speed, wanting to cover a maximum amount of area. It is quite shocking the way they are spreading and covering such a vast area; this bastard had been hiding so deeply; it had never revealed such abilities in centuries.

It seemed like we had underestimated it far deeply, noting it one of the lower-run Grand Lords of the old coven, the same level as an old snake's pet, we had been very wrong.

It would be a nice time to escape, my mind screaming at me to do that, but I am unable to move from the spot, despite knowing this might be my last to escape before this ability of it truly shows its power.

Nearly seven minutes passed, and I remained frozen on my spot when finally, the branches stopped spreading, covering over five hundred square miles of area.

This is the power of the god; that every powerhouse desires.

In a matter of few minutes, it had covered such a vast area, and now, I am excited to see what it could do. So much that I am shaking from head to toe.

Finally, I have seen the god-like power of the Grand Lord; though I have seen the destructive power of the Grand Lord, it did not impress me as it did. This is something of my taste; destructive power is easy, but doing something like that is not the thing that is making me feel even better that I am the first to experience it.

Now that they had spread, it was time to see what they could do.

Gasp!

I hadn't even finished thinking that when the branches reacted. They shone in a brown light, and what they did next had shocked me enough that I had let out a visible gasp.

They begin to absorb the energies of the plants; it is not just energies from the plants they are absorbing, but water elemental energies and earth elemental energies, but they are minute compared to the energies of the plants they are absorbing.

It is shocking, not the absorption of the energies, I could also do that, but the scale it is absorbing. I could not do this even at the hundredth scale.

The branches in the ground absorbing the energy and transferring it all to Goatman, who is fixed in the ball; as the energies reach it, the bloodline phantom appears again, and I notice it becomes even more clear and now radiating an even denser aura as it the seconds passed.

At first, I had thought it was consuming the energies, but I was wrong; it was only processing it before it released it back and spread into as of branches covering my shields.

As the energies began to spread, changes began to occur, the kind of changes that scared the shit out of me.

"I should really get the fuck out of here," I muttered, and this time, even my heart did not dare to stop me. There is a difference between having suicidal thoughts and stopping for suicide.

My soul sense begins to come back to me, and formation activates inside my armor; there will be a price for escape, but I am more than happy to pay, as no price is more important than my life.

Hun!

The formation is a charge, and I was to activate it when I suddenly stopped as my receding soul sense noticed something, a very obscure detail which I had failed to see earlier.

I paused the formation and focused on the thing my soul sense noticed, and a couple of seconds later, my eyes couldn't help but go wide in shock.

'Even with it, it is too dangerous,' I said to myself, but unconsciously, I had already deactivated the formation.

'Well fuck it,' I said and closed my eyes, and many formations lit inside me; my clones, who were working, stopped what they were doing and came to aid me.

Since I am fucking idiot to take such a risk, I might as well go all out for this tiny little chance because, if I succeeded, there would be a huge fortune, but if I failed, I would have to pay with my life.

Within a few seconds, I opened my eyes; it turned out my clone's efficiency was far greater than mine. My presence is only making things harder instead of easier.

"Kraf, are you dead? If you are, you can just tell me?" I asked mockingly, with a hint to fear hidden in my voice.

A few seconds passed, and I did not do anything, which is not surprising; as the thing it is doing requires an immense amount of focus, it could spare even tinies bit to even respond to me.

"It is fine if you don't reply to me before in ten seconds, I will begin to attack," I said threateningly, but one could clearly feel the fear in my voice.

BANNNG BANNNG BANNNG

Ten seconds passed, and as I had said, I have begun attacking through my shields; these are not only to protect and could be used for an attack too.

Though these attacks are only for a show, they have been made only for a show. The moment I used my shields, they will be used for defense only; even these fake attacks are for defense.

Though they are fake attacks, they are quite powerful; no one below Grandmaster could bear them, but despite their power, they are not doing anything against the branches. At first, they were able to make some scratches, but after time passed, they were not even able to do that, as the branches got strengthened by the energy.

While I continued my fake attacks, I also kept track of everything; especially the massive energy its branches absorb, which is increasing over time.

It affected the environment immediately; the vast prairie that was filled with verdant green and now turned brown and dried out as their lifeforce got sucked, and at the same time, the quality of the soul also decreased at an alarming speed.

If it had continued at such speed, it wouldn't be long before the whole area turned into a wasteland, which would take decades and even centuries to recover.

I wanted to stop it but could not; I did not have the power to stop it, but I would make sure the bastard would pay the price for what it was doing.
