"Can you see through anything that domain, Lord Hern?" he asked, to that the other man shook his head. "The domain had been silent for too long; I am getting a bad feeling about it," he said to that other man, just sighed.
"There is nothing we could do; Even I went there, I don't think I will be able to do anything much against the old snake," said Lord Hern; his predecessor had gone after the old snake and forget doing anything to it, she was barely able to escape with life intact, and that is all because of night blade.
The power of the curse is so strong in the old snake; any High-Grandmaster appears within a mile of distance from the old snake, withers, and dies in the most painful way.
"We should have believed in Lord Zaar's abilities; he was even able to heal Grand Lords from the curse above the limit. He can survive the old snake," he said, and he really hoped things turned out as he was hoping.
…
"The bastard!"
Old snake cursed as he looked at Grand Snake; he could clearly see what was happening inside and was shocked when he saw even the mist of the gorge couldn't kill the bastard.
The mist is extremely dangerous; even among the powerful Grand Lords, there are not more than three people who could survive it after getting caught.
He had finally gained the divine energy after the hard work of centuries, and not even the bastard Rhaek knew about it, nor did he tell anyone about it.
Even though he had been his strongest supporter of him, even he did not trust him, especially now; a huge fortune had fallen on the Golden Werewolf tribe, that now no one could compete against them.
He even heard from confidants from the Golden Werewolf tribe that Rhaek plans to declare himself an emperor right after defeating the humans.
It is their greatest anathema, they have killed many of their leaders for just having the thought of it, but now they are powerless to do anything. Even if every one of them attacks him, they will not be able to do anything to him; even if they are able to kill him, it will not change anything.
Another Golden Fire Werewolf will take its place.
He is not willing to become a subject, never was, and will try everything not to let that happen; that blood had helped him a lot, and he saw the light into the next level, but today, he saw the door.
Zaar.
He needs it; it is the thing that will help him to cross the limit of the world. It is something that is made by the very essence of him that formed that enviable curse immunity that is above that of the constitution.
He is confident; by that ritual, he will be able to harness Zaar's immunity and other good things its body has; it will not create the door for him to reach the next level, but will also increase the curse affinity of his body enough, that it will be able to house scarlet devil into his body, that it is now housing in its staff.
It will increase his strength so much; that even Rhaek won't be able to do anything against him.
To have all that, it just needs to kill Zaar, which is proving to be quite a challenge; the bastard is very hard to kill, and just when he thinks it is near killing it, something else happens.
A few minutes ago, the cracks have covered nearly whole shields, and he thought it wouldn't take divine mist long for it kills it, but the cracks stopped, and since then, they stuck, neither advancing nor receding.
His heart is bleeding with every drop of divine energy that is being spent; it had needed decades to accumulate this much divine energy. The method he is using is very slow but very sneak, that even Rhaek and his spies are not able to find out anything.
There is another method he could use to accumulate divine energy much faster, but it has costs, and it will immediately attract the attention of the Rhaek, something he does not want to happen.
"It will be worth it," he said; once he got hand on the Zaar's body, this sacrifice of divine energy would be worth it; the benefit it will provide will be above his imagination; he could feel that in his old bones.
It won't take long for Zaar to get in its hands; it is resisting through some unknown method, but not long. The divine energy is vast, whatever method it uses will be spent, and when it does, its damning shields will blast apart, and I will get my hands on its wonderful body.
Hun!
He was just thinking that when it sensed something and a moment later, that thing revealed itself; seeing it, shock appeared on its face. Its aura blasted to peak, and the crystal on the staff glowed with the bright right.
"Cursed drill to heaven!"
It shouted, and the chandelier above lit up in the brightest red light and spun like a drill before falling down on that abominable rose.
It looked at a huge rose unfurling across the Grand Viper, unaffected by the powerful curse attacking; he still remembered how it had covered that poor Thaes; it covered it and disappeared, never to appear like many fellow Grimms, who were never seen after disappearing at the hands of bastard Zaar.
He doesn't believe Zaar has the power to take the Grand Viper; it is something that would have eaten Thaes for dinner, but he does not want to take a chance.
It is something that took decades to accumulate, and the only thing that could do something against Zaar; he did not want to give Zaar a chance, even if it was the smallest one.
'He will not lose his most powerful weapon,' he thought as he looked at drill, which was about crash down that damn rose; it was not a normal attack, but an extremely powerful one, its impact would be pure physical; it will be able to crush that rose, with the sheer physical might.
The drill was about crash into the dammed rose when his greatest nightmare came alive.
The rose bloomed fully and disappeared, taking the grand viper with it; he could feel it was gone, and he could not feel the connection with divine energy, which took decades to accumulate.
…
"NOOOOO!"
When the viper disappeared, and he returned to the domain, the scream of the old snake was the first thing he had heard before he saw the powerful drill-like attack right above his shields.
BANNNNNNG!
The drill crashed into the shields with the momentum and sheer physical force he had never experienced, but it barely made the shields glow, much less crack them.
The shields are completely healed, without much crack on them; hell, they are glowing with power. A power that my burning essence is providing them.
There is the power of god flowing through my veins, something so vast that I am barely able to control it.
I wish I did not need to take this desperate measure, but it is the only thing that could help in strengthening the rose's redemption enough that it was able to take the full brunt of the divine curse's power and make it disappear.
