"We should have reached the destination by now," she said as she put down her binoculars, "We should have reached there an hour ago, but there is still no sign of it," I said as I looked at the map.
For the past six days, the distance between two points has always been the same, but this time, it is different. My clone had already estimated it, but it was not able to accurately track with the data it had.
"Do you know what is happening?" she asked to which I shook my head. "The only thing we could do is keep walking," I said as I took another sip of water from the water bottle, which had a few drops of stamina potions mixed inside.
There was no choice; we had left the safe zone with the minimum rest and fought many battles with both Grimms and the sandworms that currently, we could not operate without the stamina potion.
"Though we might now be seeing it, I think we are close; we might reach it soon," I said as I continued walking.
"I really hope so because I want to sleep till I cannot," she said before her expression became a little somber. "It would not be easy, would it?" she asked, "Likely not," I said and sighed.
What we have experienced throughout the day is proof that there is something big at the end; I am pretty sure it is. Our whole bodies are laden with artifacts that have been upgraded multiple times; even our cloaks now have two seals attached to them.
They have now become more like armor than the cloaks and even help slightly in reducing the weight of the backpack.
I wish we could get something for the load on the pack; while it is much lighter from the first day, it is still quite troublesome to carry to such a heavy load at a large distance.
"Are he Grimms moving?" I asked, to which she shook her head. "No, they are keeping their distance, but I have no doubt that once they see the chance, they will come at us," she said as she looked at the Grimms with her binoculars.
There are three groups of Grimms around us, a total of eight of them. One group has two Grimms, while the two have three Grimms each.
It is already quite a surprise that they did not attack us, and there are multiple reasons for that; just an hour ago, the two teams saw us wiping out a team of four Grimms; before that, we had wiped two Grimms and one before that.
Which are less than what we fought for yesterday, but the day is yet to be over.
Other than seeing us fight, there are other reasons, like the team of five humans. Just a while ago, they have fought against a team of three Grimms, killing two, while the other was only able to survive because it had run away on time.
The last and most important reason is that they could also feel they might have to fight something big and thus want to conserve their strength.
Though, I am sure it could all change if I removed the mask off my face and showed the face; all three teams of Grimms would come to kill me. This is not an exaggeration of self-importance but a simple reality.
We continued to move forward, and as with time, more and more Grimms and humans began to appear, and the strangest thing was the attacks of sandworms had nearly stopped. In the past hour, we have only got attacked once by a sandworm, and that was nearly an hour ago.
It is not just with us; even Grimms hadn't got attacked. We have been keeping a close eye on the Grimms, and we did not see those giant sandworms attacking the Grimms.
"Can you see that?" asked Racheal, "Yes," I replied while running as for why I was running because the Grimms were running. They have started running a few minutes, noticing this thing before us; not to be left behind, we have also started to run with Grimms.
Now, with the artifacts, we could also match the Grimm's speed, which has also been increased due to them wearing the artifacts.
What we see through the binoculars is a huge wall, so vast that there is seemed to be no end to it. This wall of energy has a gate big enough that even Grimm would be able to pass through it comfortably.
As we saw the gates, we took a few more gulps of water containing the stamina potion and ran even faster, matching the speed of the group of Grimms, who were most ahead.
Around twenty minutes later, the groups of Grimm and we stopped in front of the giant gate, which was nearly twenty-five meters tall. It is also made of energy like a wall, but unlike it, it is in blue color instead of blurry colorless.
There was no information about the gate other than floating words that say, 'one at a time.' If it were not for that, the Grimms would have barged in at the door.
"Un hun, wait till others appear," I said to Golden Fire Werewolf, who took a step toward the gate. "You think you could stop me, human?" It asked as it turned to me.
"Of course, I could," I said and gently removed the mask off my face, and immediately its eyes went wide along with the two Grimms behind it, who unconsciously took the steps back before they were able to stop themselves.
"Zaar, you truly have made a mistake revealing yourself," It said with a cruel smile, "You should have stayed anonymous as now, every Grimm here would kill you," it added
"And every human here would fight them," I replied with confidence which immediately dimmed the cruel smile on my face.
A few minutes passed, and it did not do anything else other than glare at me while two groups of Grimms and a group of humans came into the view before stopping at their respected groups.
"Lord Zaar," said the leader of five humans and bowed slightly, "Lord Irwin," I greeted to middle-aged man before greeting the five people behind him by name, even the masters.
Three of the five are the subject of the project, including Irwin; he wouldn't have been able to reach the level of High-Grandmaster without mine and the project's help.
"What is this door?" he asked, to which I shook my head. "I don't have the slightest idea; the only I know is what that text is reading out," I replied, pointing toward the huge floating text, which is saying only one person at a time could enter inside.
"So, no choice but to wait," he said, and I nodded.
Minutes passed, and the Grimms and humans kept coming; by the time sun had begun to set, there were already twenty-three humans and twenty-seven, a very surprising number.
Usually, the Grimms are always at least double numbers, but here they are only four more people than us, a number we would be able to handle, even in our current state.
"So, how will we do this?" I asked the unknown Golden Fire Werewolf, who had obviously become the leader of the Grimms.
