Adrian froze, and I could feel his heart shatter like shards of glass. Bags instantly congealed below the young boy's eyes as he stared up with helplessness. Showing his innocence.
"I… I'll do as you ask, Master," Adrian uttered, struggling not to crumble to his knees. He approached the young child, shoulders seemingly holding up a mountain. "For… Forgive me." He wept and arched his sword.
"Arsene," Lily whispered.
"Yeah, I know."
I only wanted to teach the boy a lesson. It was never my intention to break his pride. Only corrupt it. He needs to feel what rock bottom feels like. He needed to taste what true power entails.
"Stop," I commanded. "Look here."
Just as Adrian's lifeless eyes turned, I seared away his mother's body to ash, leaving only a soul as a reminder of what the boy was striding for. Forcing Adrian to watch his mother perish once more. Adrian's sword left his hand as he crumbled into a small ball.
Releasing hollow whimpers, I said nothing and released the family under my control. " Beat it."
The Mother flashed, having already snatched her son in her arms, leaving behind dust.
"You really are a cruel monster, Arsene. How'd you feel if you re-saw your mother's death?" Lily coldly inquired. "How'd you feel if you had to relive her moanful whimpers as she entered her chambers having been abused by your Father?"
"Irrelevant. It's the ones in power that get to govern." I responded grimly. "I am building a soldier. Not a sissy boy. I need a man. A poised killer that is not governed by the world's will because I'll assure you, the world is far crueler than I am."
Standing beside Adrian, I sat beside him and handed him his Mother's Soul Flame while looking up at dawn. " Take it. And never forget what you are fighting for. You might think me a cruel monster. And you'd be right. But I'm an effective monster. I don't believe in a safe environment. Because it's only through war that heroes and villains are born" I paused and turned to my Disciple. "This is your War, Adrian."
"I've granted you one of the strongest bodies throughout the Myriad Heavens. You are immune to every element, with a minor resistance to force. You have a hyper-adaptive soul with an affinity to Hell, Night, and Abyss. Not to mention your Djinn bloodline that comes from the Overworld. I will not allow you to fail me, Disciple."
"Was it painless?" He asked, the gruesome pain in his throat apparent.
But he'd be asking that question for the next million cycles because I'll not answer it. Life sure is a bitch.
Taking hold of the little brat, I wrapped his fragile self in Qi and darted through the air, causing tears into subspace to emerge at the sheer speed I was moving. In a matter of seconds, I'd come upon the war between Noctem and the Zermerian Empire.
A race of lizard men. They were said to be the descendants of dragons.
Standing in the fog of war glistering over the battlefield, I stared coldly as my Shadowfell waged a one-man siege on the people below. Blood pooled like rivers, rippling and raging as a single man wielding his soul weapon howled like a beast of carnage.
Slaughtering everyone and everything that entered his eye, I merely watched with a smile. " Look, Disciple. That is what you might become if there is no mastery. Remember it well. For this, the day I name that mindless thing of my blood. They shall be known as Shadow Demons, Fallen Shadowfell."
Drawing a small warding on the back of Adrian's neck for protection, I tossed his little ass down from the skies.
Catching himself midflight with flames of black wings, the teary eye disciple wiped away the tears and radiated a calm coldness.
"My demonic Line originates from someone named Bael. And you ought to have access to his archives. Use them as you see fit. But if you need a real spell that defies sense, come to me, boy. Now go. Kill."
Flaring my aura, notifying my people that their god was here, I released a bellowing roar. " KILL, JOIN YOUR BROTHERS AND KILL!"
Flaring my blessing to all non-Shadowfell within my army. Waves of war cries resounded one after the other. In a matter of seconds, the lone Shadowfell was joined and killed by his own brethren as they attacked the Zermerians.
Blood spilled in waves washing over the surface of Iluthath in such a majestic painting. Even the skies turned red.
It became utter madness. But below… gripping Wrath, stood little Adrian shadowing behind those stronger than him. He only had one chance before the backlash struck. If he failed, he'd be an open target.
"... I should help. Let's see… I'll give you your first bone." I mentioned and flared my divinity using Mephisto's secret arte, which allowed me to manipulate reality. Not by a lot, but Black Sabbath was an insanely useful arte.
Targeting a weak will low god at the precipice of death, I manipulated his mind, pushing him to approach Adrian.
"Happy hunting, Boy."
"Die demon!" A bellowing cry suddenly resounded from the horizon as an Azure arc of lighting tore through space, revealing gaps in subspace as a spear peered inches from me.
But with a calmly poised mind, my right arm flashed with the very ability of Shadow Slash, allowing me to catch the spear in the nick of time.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM~
Storms of lighting erupted, taking the form of a majestic tree with many laws that stormed Heaven and Earth. Killing thousands of the non-Shadowfell.
Bodies disintegrated, but as if the lighting was contagious, it ricocheted without care to anyone in the vicinity.
"It's an Army Killer!" Someone in my court howled. "Get rid of it!"
A little surprise, they had such a term for attacks capable of eradicating them. My eyes shifted to the azure being standing before me, rattling with vicious arcs of lightning.
Eyes blazing with cruelty and malice, I felt a sense of… comradery… of ownership.
'A Monarch… And there's another one." I mused, shifting my eye over the east towards the emerald whirlwind flailing with wild abandonment.
"A Monarch of Lightning and Wind."
