In the storage room, Del gave the idea to Walter about what Del was about to do to that storage room. Walter just nodded in satisfaction as he heard Del's ideas one by one. He was impressed, nonetheless. It just felt that Del knew what Walter wanted once he arrived at Sneggor.
"That's a good idea, I want to give you a few suggestion though." Walter looked at the windows on the roof of the storage room. "You don't want anyone to peek, right? If I were you, I would seal those windows. Let's see." Walter continued observing the storage room. "You did say something about radio, right? We can't have radio antennae on top of this building. I suggest you conceal it among the trees, making people harder spotting it."
Del wrote those suggestions into his tablet. Walter was a military expert, after all. Sometimes, he needed to ask about his experience in operating. Oftentimes, it would give an insight into what enemies they would face. So far, Del knew that the enemies weren't afraid of doing any war crimes to their enemies.
The imperial military was as ruthless as possible. Yet, Del only had seen their weapons of mass destruction, not their elite soldiers. He really didn't want to meet them. If the military doctrine was consistent, the imperial military special forces would dare to use more chemical weapons in reaching their goal and objectives.
Back to the ordeal, Walter didn't have more suggestions for them. Even from a positional perspective, the storage room soon-turned-into-a-command-center was remote from any major settlement. Even Sneggor was around six miles away from their position. The academy was three miles away from that remote cabin.
"So, Del, I noticed that you're an arms dealer according to the report given to me, if you don't mind, can you give me more details about that?" Walter was curious about that. However, Del didn't have any idea how much knowledge that Walter knew about him. It was safe to assume that he would need to give Walter his technology.
"Well, I'm more experienced in creating advanced weapons."
"If that's the case, can you show me one? I want something good." Walter demanded any item. One way or another, he might require something powerful. Del doubted that an AK would be enough to satisfy him.
He might want something as advanced as Anna's Remington sniper rifle equipped with thermal sight and self-guided bullet. What would satisfy Walter? Would a regular FGM-148 Javelin be enough to satisfy him? Del doubted it. A Javelin missile launcher might be sophisticated, but it wouldn't be shiny enough.
He might appreciate its ability to lock into the enemy tank without seeing it first. However, Del doubted that the beeping and the ability to destroy a tank would be appreciated. However, explaining the ability of the missile to Walter would be very hard. Heck, Del didn't even know what to say if Walter asked how the rocket worked.
"Hmm, Anna, get him your rifle. That thing should be enough," Del said.
Anna ran back to Walter's car to pick up her rifle. The rifle would be more than enough to show her. The high-powered scope and the self-guided ability of the bullet would be more than enough to convince him. It wasn't hard either.
Anna returned to the storage room with a rifle in her hands. "Anna, can you give Walter a demonstration of what you weapon is capable of while I think on what I should add to this room?"
"Sure, Del," Anna nodded as he pulled Walter away from that storage room.
Del was now alone with whatever the storage room. The first thing that they needed was a whiteboard with an eraser. It would be a great place to plan something in the future. There might want to plan a breakout from prison or any government facility. After all, Salve group was an elite security contractor serving the federal government.
He bought a whiteboard in the room. He put a black marker near the whiteboard so someone could use it immediately if they planned for doing something. The next thing on his order was a computer and a printer. Why? So he could put an image on the whiteboard and start connecting the dots. It would also serve as their main tool for documenting something.
The next thing on the list was a command table. Basically, any table would do, but it must be big and fit in the center of the room. That table would be used to place the maps, predict enemies' area of movement, direct commands in real-time, etc. In case the member of their group grew for some reasons. He bought everything that he needed and put it inside the room. Del plugged the computer and the printer into the power outlet, and it turned on.
Lastly, he bought a radio and put it on the command table. The radio was using heavy encryption, so nobody but any authorized personnel would listen to it. Overall, it was their most important tool.
For the strategic side, those objects should be enough. The next thing that they needed was the logistics, aka the equipment. It would include gun lockers, equipment storage, and everything else. Del would place the tools that he needed inside of the room. Del could easily buy equipment on the spot. The others? Not too much. Maybe setting up a terminal where any authorized person could buy something would be a good idea.
Del browsed all of the objects that he needed and bought them. He then placed those items in that storage room, including Pidma's terminal, which had the same appearance as a regular vending machine but could be opened and closed like a fridge. There was also a computer screen at the door of the terminal.
"Ok, that should be more than enough, I think?" There might be something else that he needed. The storage where he should put the equipment and gadgets such as the guns and the armors were still empty. Still, it could be filled later.
Maybe they needed something for R&R in that storage room. The room was meant for planning, but it didn't mean that it was supposed to be entirely focused on that. Maybe a coffee maker or something similar would cut it.
Del bought a coffee maker and placed it on one of the tables in that storage area. He also bought several cups to serve the coffee. He made a cup while waiting for Anna and Walter to return to the storage room. And speak of the devil.
Suddenly, Anna and Walter barged through the door. "I was only leaving you for less than ten minutes and this is how much stuffs you have bought? What are you planning to do? Assassinations?"
"Del, are you really this eager to work with us?" Walter was also astonished by the change that had happened in that storage room. "I haven't even given any of you training yet."
"Well, it's better to prepare soon than later," Del commented.
"I agree. What's the weapon that you keep carrying on your shoulder though? It looks similar to the weapon that Anna demonstrated to me. I can't say I'm not impressed by its peformance in comparison to the army's standard bolt-action rifle."
"You meant this? It's an AK-74M, a rifle." Del pointed at the rifle on his shoulder.
"Is it an ordinary rifle? Or is it another special weapon?"
"It's just an ordinary rifle with an ordinary performance. What matters most inside of a combat situation is the skills of the combatant, right?"
"Right, but with that kind of unfair advantage, I think you can match any elite with ease." Walter probably referred to the bolt-action rifle that Anna used to tranquilize people. Its main purpose was to score a headshot from a great distance, after all.
Del just nodded. The rifle was enough to impress Walter, after all. They needed more advanced weaponry in the future. Would the cabin need some sort kind of defense in the future, though? Del doubted it. The imperial military wouldn't be able to strike that deep into federal territory. About the contract with Walter, Del thought of something.
Walter hadn't tasked him with something yet, so it was safe to assume they weren't working with him yet. However, Del thought that he needed to do something first before he could do his job. Maybe, just maybe, Walter had extra training from his special forces background. After all, those guys were the elite of the elites.
"Walter, do you have anything else to say for us? Is there anything that we can do for you?"
"I think we shouldn't rush things too much. I haven't enrolled you into the academy and I haven't even trained you for anything that would help you two in your future jobs. Tomorrow agenda is to visit the academy and give your documents. After that, we can start the training that you two should do."
"What kind of training though?"
Walter looked unusually excited about that. Del had a bad feeling, "Can you both fly?"
