Deputy Chairman Qin paused before he continued. “Since she is a deputy chairman, she has to work. Tell her to come over to the association tomorrow.”

Assistant Wang was caught by surprise. Chairman Wang had given clear instructions not to disturb Huo Yao and he had even seen it listed in her contract. “Miss Huo is just a student. Chairman Wang has already agreed that she does not have to be physically present at the association…”

Before Assistant Wang was able to finish his sentence, Deputy Chairman Qin interrupted him. “There were lots of problems with Chairman Wang’s previous decisions. Since they were problematic, we should correct them with immediate effect. Just tell her to come over.”

Assistant Wang frowned imperceptibly. He could only nod and agree with Deputy Chairman Qin. “Fine. I will call her tonight.”

“Uh huh.” Deputy Chairman Qin could not help feeling excited just thinking about her prescription. He reminded Assistant Wang again. “You have to make her come over.”

Assistant Wang replied. “I’ll do my best.”

Deputy Chairman Qin patted Assistant Wang on the shoulder. “Do not disappoint me.”

The moment he finished his sentence, he pulled back his hand. He pursed his lips glancing at the door and turned to leave without entering the room.

After he had gone some distance, Assistant Wang finally exhaled. He kept watching until the deputy chairman was no longer in sight and sighed inwardly. He took out the key, opened the medicine storage room door, and entered the room.

He took out a bottle of S grade medicine in his pocket and replaced it in the cabinet.

Deputy Chairman Qin had deliberately mentioned he expected every single pill to be there. He was warning him that he was not allowed to take anything behind his back.

Even if it was intended for Chairman Wang, he was not allowed to take anything.

Assistant Wang smiled sadly as he closed the cabinet. Things were changing in the Apothecaries’ Association. If he wanted to save his job, he had no choice but to obey the man.

......

Deputy Chairman Qin was a cunning man, so it was hard to handle him.

Before long, he left the medicine storage room.

Assistant Wang drove over to Chairman Wang’s residence 30 minutes later.

“Chairman Wang, are you feeling better?” Assistant Wang looked at Chairman Wang worriedly. “I wanted to bring the medicine over but I ran into Deputy Chairman Qin.”

Chairman Wang waved his hand as he sat in bed. A lot of things were happening at the association, making him mentally and physically exhausted. “It’s fine. We both know what he’s like.”

Assistant Wang felt guilty. “You are still the chairman, but he keeps doing this to you. How can you recover without medicine?”

Deputy Chairman Qin was standing by and letting the chairman die.

Chairman Wang shook his head and smiled. “It’s okay. I’ll be fine.”

He paused before he continued. “Oh yes. Did you manage to find Mr. Mi?”

“Nope. I can’t get him on the phone and he did not reply to any of my texts.” Assistant Wang frowned worriedly. He had been trying to contact Mi Wei daily.

Chairman Wang coughed a couple of times and asked. “What did Deputy Chairman Qin say?”

“He asked about Mr. Mi a few days ago and that was it,” replied Assistant Wang candidly.

Chairman Wang felt puzzled. Deputy Chairman Qin was a very stubborn man. He would not stop until he found Mi Wei.

Chairman Wang pondered briefly and told Assistant Wang, “Keep an eye on Deputy Chairman Qin and see who he interacts with. I’m worried that Mr. Mi is already in his hands.”

Assistant Wang nodded. “Don’t worry. I will keep an eye on him. Oh yes. Deputy Chairman Qin wants me to call Miss Huo to come over to the association.”
