Chapter 772 - Took Refuge in Dragon Capital

Chapter 772: Took Refuge in Dragon Capital

Qin Feng and Bai Li reappeared at the aircraft apron near Dragon Capital. Guards of the capital were alerted and immediately surrounded them.

They were in extremely bad shape.

“Please display your ID and badge!”

One of the guards yelled, while a few tens of guns were pointed at Qin Feng and Bai Li.

“Stop. They are one of us.” An urgent voice came from behind.

Qin Feng and Bai Li looked up and saw Nan Gongshi and the other A-tiers earlier.

Escaping from such a tumultuous situation, these people would never run back to their turf first. The best option was obviously to take refuge in Dragon Capital—the safest place for the Human Alliances and the most feared place for the Dark Coalition.

As such, Nan Gongshi and co. had just arrived ten minutes earlier than Qin Feng.

“General Qin, you are finally back. We thought something bad might have happened to you two,” Nan Gongshi said in relief.

“Good to see you two returning safely.”

“Nothing would happen to General Qin with his wit and capability. He must have been delayed by killing a couple more members of the Dark Coalition.”

The five of them gathered around Qin Feng and Bai Li and chatted passionately.

The sentinels let down their guards a little seeing that but did not retract their weapon.

It was their duty to ensure the identity of any incomer.

Qin Feng did not make life difficult for them and took out his badge. Bai Li did the same.

The leader of the troop scanned the badge with his communicator. His expression relaxed after the identities of Qin Feng and Bai Li were confirmed.

“General Qin from the North. Deputy Governor Bai from the North Sea.”

“At ease. They are allowed to enter.”

The sentinels immediately retracted their guns. Nan Gongshi quickly said, “General Qin, allow me to treat you to a meal in Dragon Capital. You must have been battered these past few days. It so happens that I have a few properties in the capital. You could have some rest there.”

Of course, the others wanted to treat Qin Feng too. But they were not as influential and wealthy as Nan Gongshi, so they let Nan Gongshi make the invitation.

Qin Feng was not entirely relaxed. But after there was no sign of He Tianxing a couple minutes later, Qin Feng believed that the S-tier duke was not fond of coming to Dragon Capital.

The thought loosened up his tension a little.

He gave Nan Gongshi’s offer a thought, then said, “If it is not of too much trouble.”

Nan Gongshi replied jubilantly, “Of course it won’t be. We have fought together, and the reason we are still standing here is because of you!”

They could all tell that Qin Feng was as good as an A-tier now. His future would only be even brighter!

Hence, it was only natural for Nan Gongshi to rope him in now.

After he accepted Nan Gongshi’s invitation, Qin Feng took out his hovercraft and followed the latter’s vehicle into Dragon Capital.

Qin Feng and Bai Li were both exhausted after the three-day intensive battle in Hell Island. They sighed in comfort after sinking into their respective comfortable and soft seats.

Bai Li broke the silence, “Are we really safe? We have failed to cover our identities. He Tianxing would be going to the North Sea to seek revenge for sure.”

Qin Feng frowned but then thought it through. “Don’t worry, Z is still there now. He could be our shield. As long as He Tianxing does not come personally, I would not worry about any assassin he sends over. We will go back to Fengli after resting here for a day.”

“Alright!”

Qin Feng contemplated the potential development and was further relieved the more he thought about it.

“Besides, if He Tianxing really wants to get his revenge, he would have to wait. We have both seen how the S-tier puppet injured him heavily.”

“Yea! It’s not a minor injury. If I estimated correctly, a human body would need at least a month to completely heal from that,” Bai Li resonated.

Qin Feng nodded and continued, “If not because of the injury, he would have come through the rift no matter what. Not only because he is mad at me but also because of his claymore. It is an S-tier god weapon, which is undoubtedly his trump card. Also, the waymark of Dragon Capital is set far outside of the city. He wouldn’t have let us go this easily with his pride as an S-tier.”

“If he dares to come, I would knock his teeth out!” Bai Li snorted proudly.

Qin Feng laughed and nodded in agreement. “Yes, yes! My Xiao Bai is the best!”

The atmosphere lightened up. There was still some time before they would reach Dragon Capital. Qin Feng set the car into an auto-pilot to follow Nan Gongshi’s hovercraft. They both went to sleep on the comfortable seats.

Precisely, Bai Li went into a deep sleep immediately while Qin Feng was meditating.

‘The S-tier puppet is indeed powerful. It’s unfortunate that it was destroyed just like that.’

Qin Feng lamented that one of his cards was burned for a battle that he could have avoided.

Nevertheless, since he rarely relied on the puppet and it was picked up from Kounsat, he was not really disappointed. A puppet for their lives, worth it.

Not to forget, Qin Feng had also claimed He Tianxing’s claymore in the process. Its value was no less than the S-tier puppet he had just lost.

‘This claymore is the source of He Tianxing’s resentment toward me. Since he wants to kill me, I wouldn’t let him think that I can be bullied easily. This sword is not going back to him. Whatever it is, I can transform it into another weapon with the Magical Tesseract.’

God weapons like this would usually recognize their users. This was another reason why He Tianxing did not rush into action despite being exasperated.

To He Tianxing, though he had lost connection with the sword for the meantime, he could recall the claymore anytime as soon as someone used it.

Qin Feng, who had lost an S-tier puppet, would not let He Tianxing have his way.

‘I shall sell this out. The claymore wouldn’t remember its master once it has been reformed through the Tesseract.’

Qin Feng was convinced that this was an excellent idea the more he thought about it.

If no one was willing to buy it, Qin Feng could still use it to exchange for treasures with the Human Alliance association. Though the rule allowed only return of lesser value, it would at least be something more useful than the claymore.

Qin Feng had never seen the treasure collections in Dragon Capital before.

As he was immersed in his own train of thought, the hovercraft entered the city. The Nangong family was a prestigious lineage in the Southern Region. The family was headed by an S-tier guardian. Hence, their properties in Dragon Capital were more than just a mansion.

The hovercraft took the highway and went directly into the ninth level of Dragon Capital.

This place was very close to the cloud and full of natural energy. Children living or born here were more talented than the others. They were bound to become excellent aptitude and ability users after awakening.

More so, after two hundred years, there were even babies secretly born naturally to be ability or aptitude users in some influential families.

Finally, the hovercrafts steered into a manor. The ninth level of Dragon Capital was huge but had limited residents. They thought they had entered a paradise.

Qin Feng scanned the area with his consciousness. He found that the other four A-tier aptitude users did not follow them. It seemed that this place was not open to everyone.

“General Qin, we have arrived!”

Bai Li woke up only when they had arrived. She came down from the hovercraft while rubbing her eyes.
