Chapter 345 - Communication Center.
The flight attendant that got an autograph from Ichiro hopped innocently towards other older flight attendants.
''Olivia, did something good happen?'' One of the older flight attendants said towards the beautiful flight attendant, who was holding a piece of paper in her hand.
''Yup, look!'' Olivia showed the paper proudly, which had a name of some sort.
''Hmm?'' Two other flight attendants leaned and started reading the name aloud, ''Kurogami… Ichiro?'' After speaking it aloud, they waited for couple more seconds before that name finally registered into their minds.
''Wait… It's him?!'' The older flight attendant with the name of Bonney asked with a shock.
Olivia nodded proudly.
''Did you inform the government?'' She asked quickly. The Government specially said how important it was to inform them if he appeared anywhere.
''Hehe.'' Olivia scratched her head and said, ''I promised to him that I won't inform.''
Bonney facepalmed and sighed deeply, ''Olivia… We have to. If they find out that we knew and didn't inform, we will lose our jobs or even worse, get a sentence.''
''B-But.'' Olivia looked frustrated.
''I will inform, and if he comes to complain, I will tell that it was me,'' Bonney said and grabbed the phone from the wall.
Oliver sighed and sat down on a nearby seat.
The phone started ringing, and soon it connected.
…
In Arya's Government Headquarters.
600th floor was the floor of communication.
Every piece of information and news travel through this very specific floor, and it wasn't farfetched to say that this was one of the core floors of the entire Government!
The floor was one large room with hundreds, if not thousands of computers and people operating them.
On one of the seats, there was a middle-aged man with a stoic face. He was typing on the keyboard, and the screen kept changing rapidly as he was going through camera recordings of hundreds of different airports, but so far, haven't found what he was looking for.
Soon, the phone on his desk rang, and without further ado, the middle-aged man pressed a button and put the phone next to his ear.
''Arya's Government Headquarters, how may we help you?'' He said with a somewhat robotic tone and never stopped typing on the keyboard.
''This is flight attendant Bonney from Flight 447.'' He heard a gentle voice of a woman.
''Yes, what was the purpose of the call, miss?'' He kept saying robotically and changed to another screen, which showed another airport's camera recordings.
''Your superiors made an announcement that said if a person called Kurogami Ichiro appears on our flight, we need to inform you, is that correct?'' After hearing her words, his fingers froze as he stopped typing.
''That's correct.'' His robotic voice had changed of tones as he became much more serious.
''Well, he is here currently on Flight 447.'' After hearing her words, he once again started typing, but instead of going to check some random airport camera recordings, he went to check the notes and find out from where Flight 447 would leave.
A flood of texts appeared on the screen, and he started scrolling down until he found Flight 447
''Excuse me, miss, can you wait a second?'' He asked while looking at where Flight 447 was currently.
'City of Architecture…'
''Yes.'' Bonney on the phone replied.
The middle-aged man put the phone back on the desk and started going through camera recordings of the City of Architecture's airport.
He was oozing with concentration as his eyes moved back and forth on the screen.
Soon, he found a somewhat familiar-looking youth walking with a group.
He grabbed a photo from the desk, which showed Ichiro's face.
His eyes went back and forth between paper and screen.
He nodded after making sure that Kurogami Ichiro was currently on Flight 447!
After putting the paper back on the desk, he grabbed the phone and innocently said, ''Thank you. Kurogami Ichiro was reported missing, and he is the son-in-law of deceased Abyss, so we wanted to make sure he arrives safely on home.''
''Ah, right!'' Bonney had a voice of realization.
''Have a nice flight, miss.'' He said and disconnected the phone call, but instantly his face became cold as he started typing another phone number.
Almost instantly, it was answered.
He put the phone next to his ear and said, ''Kurogami Ichiro is on Flight 447.''
''…'' The voice was quiet on the other side of the phone, but the middle-aged man could hear the sound of breathing.
*Ding*
The phone call surprisingly was disconnected, but the middle-aged man knew what was going to happen now.
He erased the browser history, and after that, he shut down the computer.
He took a quick look around the floor and saw everyone minding their own businesses.
The middle-aged man opened a cabinet and grabbed a screwdriver.
Once again, he looked around, making sure that no one was looking at him. He used the screwdriver and started loosening the screws on the side of the computer, revealing its interior.
With his screwdriver, he started stabbing the interiors, making sparks fly, and after making sure that everything was broken inside, he once tightened the screws and made sure that nothing looked out of place.
He threw the screwdriver inside his cabinet and closed it.
''Haaahhhh…'' He took a deep breath, and his middle-aged face looked like it aged 20 years in almost instant.
*Creak*
Pulling the chair behind him, he stood up and took off his suit's jacket before folding it gently and putting it down on the seat.
Finally, his co-workers saw what he was doing and wondered what he was doing.
He unbuttoned his sleeves and took off the necktie before putting it down on his chair.
''John, what are you doing?'' His co-worker asked, who was sitting only a few desks away from him.
John, the middle-aged man, didn't answer; instead started strolling towards the window.
His co-workers stood up to see what he was doing as he walked towards the window, which showed the massive City around them.
They couldn't even see the bottom from all the way here.
'Jasmine… Jane… Take care.' John gritted his teeth and suddenly started running towards the window!
''John, what the hell are you doing?!'' His co-workers screams echoed in his ears.
Tears left John's eyes, but he had already reached the window, and because of his body's velocity and momentum, he crashed straight through the window and started falling down from the 600th floor!
His co-workers, with a shock, appeared around the broken window and only saw John's falling body, who soon vanished from their view.
