Lunar Supremacy: The Original Alpha
Chapter 97 Too Cool Not To Share With The World.
The two friends found a private space to talk within the vast space of Wayne Mansion, so Vincent's sudden appearance went unnoticed amidst the grandeur of the estate.
The maids simply dismissed him as just another one of Nathan's friends, unaware that he was the very same boy who had once played in these halls. But Vincent had changed, and not just in his physical appearance. He exuded a newfound confidence and elegance, his striking features drawing the eyes of those around him. But for Nathan, he was still the same friend he always had.
"Where have you been all this time? I've been searching for you," Nathan asked, his voice tinged with urgency.
Vincent didn't reply immediately, taking a moment to savor the sight of his friend, glad to see that he hadn't changed one bit. He was still quirky and prone to overreacting, just as he remembered him.
"A lot of things happened, "he replied with a smile, though he didn't know where to begin his story. There was so much to tell, so many experiences that had changed him and shaped him into the man he was now.
As he looked back on his journey, he couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and amazement at all the things he had experienced. He had faced danger, death, and betrayal, but he had also discovered new powers, new allies, and a new purpose in life.
"Speaking of a lot of things, I was actually rescued by a witch. It's crazy, supernatural beings are real, buddy," Nathan exclaimed, his eyes wide with belief and excitement. He couldn't resist throwing his arms up in the air, gesturing wildly as he spoke.
Vincent on the other hand couldn't help but chuckle at his best friend's antics. He wondered if Nathan had ever stopped to think about how he himself had grown taller and more handsome. Maybe he just assumed it was a result of him being a late bloomer or a skincare routine that he wasn't sharing.
"I know," Vincent chuckled, his amusement evident in his voice.
"I thought you didn't believe in supernatural beings ?" Nathan laughed. "What made you change your mind?" he asked.
-Swoosh
Vincent simply moved his hands, and before Nathan even knew it, he had taken his watch without him noticing.
He smirked as he twirled the watch around his fingers.
"This is just a small example of what I can do now," he couldn't help but grin at Nathan's stunned expression. The look on his face was priceless.
"You're a vampire?" Nathan exclaimed.
Vincent laughed at Nathan's assumption.
"No, I'm not a vampire," he said, still chuckling. "I'm something else entirely. Something that even I am still trying to wrap my head around."
He paused for a moment, trying to find the right words.
"Let's just say I've had some...changes...since we last saw each other."
Nathan's excitement was apparent as he leaned in close to Vincent.
"This is freaking awesome, buddy! You can just turn me into one," he urged, completely forgetting the fact that they hadn't seen each other in a long time. His impulsive nature had always been a part of his charm, but Vincent couldn't help but shake his head at his friend's eagerness.
He chuckled at Nathan's expression.
"Sorry Nathan, I don't think it works like that," he replied, still amused by his friend's request.
"Besides, it's not something to take lightly. Becoming a supernatural being comes with a lot of responsibility and danger. You don't know what you're asking for. ". He paused for a moment, looking at Nathan seriously. "
"I just want to move fast and jump high like those vampires on TV," Nathan spoke in a low voice.
"Listen, Nathan. I've learned a lot about the supernatural world since I've been gone, and turning someone into one isn't as easy as you think."
Nathan looked intrigued, so Vincent continued.
He explained to Nathan what he had learned from Evangeline about the process of turning into a supernatural being. He told him that humans could only turn into vampires, werewolves, or other supernatural beings if they had a genetic predisposition for it. Trying to turn someone without this aptitude could result in death because the supernatural essence would act as a poison to those without the necessary DNA to undergo the transformation. That's why the number of supernaturals is far lower than humans.
"So, it's not just about getting bitten. It's about having the right genes." Nathan nodded, absorbing the information.
"Exactly," Vincent confirmed. "And even if you can become a vampire, do you really want to live hiding from the sun forever?
Nathan's enthusiasm waned at this sobering thought.
"I guess you're right. Living like that doesn't sound as appealing as it used to."
"Don't worry, buddy. We'll figure something out." Vincent patted his friend's shoulder.
"But for now, I need you to promise not to tell anyone about me. Can I trust you with that, Nathan?" Vincent turned serious as he looked Nathan in the eye, his tone solemn.
"You can trust me with your secret, buddy. My lips are sealed." Nathan flashed a sly grin.
"You won't go blabbering to everyone in town about your supernatural best friend, will you?" Vincent teased him.
"I...." Nathan paused "Do you have mind-reading abilities as well?"
"No, I don't have mind-reading abilities, but I do know you too well, Nathan. Your face says it all." Vincent chuckled.
"You got me there, but seriously, having a best friend who has supernatural powers is just too cool not to share with the world." Nathan laughed.
"I don't think you realize the danger that comes with being supernatural. Do you want me to get hunted and be strap in laboratory?" Vincent raised an eyebrow but with a teasing smile.
"Okay, okay, I won't tell anyone. Your secret is safe with me."
"Good, because I don't think I can handle any more drama in my life right now." Vincent smiled.
Both of them shared a laugh as Vincent continued to tell him about his abilities and recent adventures. Nathan listened with the enthusiasm of a child hearing a bedtime story, eager to learn more.
