"This is just a misunderstanding . I wasn't aware that Nile's target was actually a supernatural being," the man explained, but there was still a hint of arrogance in his tone—the kind of arrogance that stemmed from having superpowers.
"I really don't care about that. He's your boss, right? If you have the ability, you should probably do what he asks for," Vincent taunted.
"Don't be too arrogant. The world is a much bigger place than you think," the man sneered back, his voice dripping with disdain.
Vincent shook his head, finding it amusing that this B-Rank was attempting to lecture him about the vastness of the world. Evangeline had forced him to see the world for how it really was, which was precisely why he was determined to acquire more power.
"I'm busy , you should just shut up and move along," Vincent's voice turned icy, sending a chill through the air. The man finally realized the gravity of the situation, but it was too late.
THUD
THUD
THUD
THUD
In an instant, all the men behind him crumpled to the ground, their bodies wracked with what appeared to be sudden heart attacks.
"What did you do?" The man's vigilance spiked .He couldn't comprehend what had just happened.
Vincent remained composed, his expression unreadable as he responded to the man's question.
"I simply demonstrated a fraction of my abilities. Consider it a warning." His voice held a hint of killing intent, emphasizing his power over the lives of everyone present.
The man's arrogance crumbled in an instant as he faced the reality of the situation. Though he was also a supernatural being, he knew that killing a group of people in such a manner was beyond his capabilities.
'How did he do it ?'
Unbeknownst to him, Vincent had employed a technique taught to him by Erika - slowing down their hearts to the point of unconsciousness. It was something easy to do with humans but proved to be quite a difficult against supernatural beings.
"Don't bother me anymore, or you'll be next," Vincent's warning carried a chilling undertone as he turned his back on the defeated man. Without wasting any more time, he climbed back into his car, leaving the scene behind. The message was clear - any further interference would result in dire consequences.
VROOOOOOOOM!
The night enveloped the surroundings, casting an eerie atmosphere over the deserted highway. The only sound that broke the silence was the soft hum of his car engine as it cut through the darkness.
"Did you kill them?" Sophia asked, her voice filled with concern.
Vincent glanced at her, his expression softened slightly.
"No, I didn't kill them," he replied calmly.
"I just slowed down their heartbeats temporarily. They will regain consciousness soon enough, but it should be enough to stop them from pursuing us " He reassured her.
Sophia let out a sigh of relief, her tense posture easing slightly.
"I trust your judgment... But please, be careful. I don't want anything bad to happen to you."
"I will, " he nodded, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
"I love you , " Sophia reached out and gently placed her hand on Vincent's, a small gesture of love.
"I love you too"

Back at the gas station, the man remained in a state of shock, his mind reeling from the encounter with someone so powerful. He couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude mixed with fear, realizing how close he had come to losing his life. It was a stroke of fortune that Vincent had spared him, allowing him to walk away from the confrontation relatively unscathed.
"I need to report this " After regaining his composure, he quickly retrieved his phone from his pocket. With trembling fingers, he dialed a number, his mind racing with the urgency of the situation.
"Report what?" But a sudden chilling voice echoed behind him, causing a shiver to run down his spine.
Startled, he quickly turned around to face the source of the voice, only to find a beautiful woman with red eyes standing there.
"A vampire!" He exclaimed and instinctively jump back.
"It's your unlucky day to cross paths with our leader," the woman sneered, her tone dripping with disdain.
"Kill everyone!" she ordered.
In a swift and coordinated motion, the vampires hiding in the dark unleashed their powers, attacking the man with relentless force. The air filled with the sounds of his screams as the vampires began their ruthless assault.
As for the unconscious men lying on the ground, they would become the prey of the ravenous vampires. In the darkness of the night, as the massacre unfolded, the vampires descended upon their helpless victims, feeding on their blood with insatiable hunger. The scene was gruesome and chilling, a reminder of the unforgiving nature of the supernatural world.

Vincent returned to California after settling everything in New York. It was a long flight, but with the assistance of his private jet, he was able to make the journey more comfortable and efficient.
However, what greeted him the moment he stepped into Evangeline's chamber was something he did not expect.
"A mission ?" his eyebrows shot up in disbelief. Seriously? He had barely set foot back in California, and Evangeline was already throwing another job his way. He had been hoping to finally make progress in finding the third fragment, but it seemed that his expectations were about to be shattered.
He sighed, realizing that his plans would have to be put on hold once again.
"Can you send someone else? I think it's more important for me to get the third fragment" he protested, frustration lacing his voice.
Evangeline's eyes narrowed, but her tone remained calm and collected.
"Don't worry, Brother Vincent, Sister Erika will join you for this one. And no, it's not another takeover mission. It's a rescue mission." she explained.
"A rescue mission, huh? Who are we rescuing?" His curiosity piqued. A rescue mission? Now that sounded intriguing.
"Remember that big organization that used Wayne Corporation as a front and is now using Hummer Tech?" she asked.
"Of course, and I actually had an encounter with the son of Hummer Tech CEO back in New York," he replied.
Evangeline nodded; she wasn't surprised by his words, as she had already received a report from her subordinates.
"That organization targeted Wayne Corporation because they had entrusted them with the development of something important. Yet, the corporation failed to deliver. They might be silent now , but the Wayne family will never be safe as long as they exist " she warned. She knew that mentioning Nathan's family, would make it easier for him to understand the gravity of the situation.
Vincent nodded, fully comprehending her point. He saw the mission as not only beneficial but also an opportunity to potentially eliminate them once and for all. The prospect of bringing an end to their threat excited him.
As for the Hummer Tech ? He had initially considered sparing Nile and his family, but it seemed their luck had finally run out. He had a feeling that Evangeline has a deeper plan for them. She was no longer hesitant to display her formidable force to the world and was acquiring a lot of manpower and resources lately for the sake of defeating Diablo.
Fortunately, multiple organizations were now hunting that demon, and the media was cleverly disguising the resulting chaos as a civil war. As a result, the general human population remained clueless about the impending storm that would soon turn their world upside down.
"Alright, Evangeline, I'm with you. But who is this person we're about to rescue?"
"She's one of our most formidable allies, a true force to be reckoned with. A bonafide Rank SS, just like Sister Erika." her eyes gleamed with pride and excitement.
Vincent's eyebrows shot up in surprise. A Rank SS? That meant she was at least comparable to Erika in terms of power. Despite his own growth in strength, he doubted he could defeat Erika if she were to become serious. That's how vast the gap between them was.
"Wait... If she's been captured, does that mean this organization has someone even more powerful?" he pondered.
Evangeline's expression softened, and a tinge of sadness crossed her features.
"Not necessarily. You see, she was once their leader, but she was betrayed by her own people. They turned against her."
Vincent's eyes widened, a hint of empathy flickering in his gaze. He understood that betrayal was a painful thing.
"Don't tell me? Is she your sister?" he blurted out.
Evangeline let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head.
"Oh, Brother Vincent, always with your assumptions. No, she's not my sister. But rest assured, rescuing her will aid us greatly." she replied with an amused look in her eyes.
"Okay,"
"Now , let's talk about the mission " she added.
As they continued the discussion , Erika walked into the chamber.
Vincent was about to greet her, but he sensed that something was amiss. There was a sadness in her eyes, and it worried him.
"Are you okay, Erika?" he asked with a concerned tone.
Erika sighed softly, her gaze meeting Vincent's.
"I'm fine, Vincent," she replied
Evangeline, noticing her sister's somber expression, decided to shift the conversation. She began by displaying a detailed map of their target, and explaining her plan in details.
Destroying this organization would not only cripple Hummer Tech by severing their financial support, but it would also pave the way for the resurgence of the Wayne Corporation. She revealed her plan to reclaim the company through strategic means. With her foresight, she understood that the Wayne Corporation was not destined to meet its demise at this juncture. Instead, she saw the potential for the company to become a valuable puppet in her larger plans.
"Everything needs to go according to my plan," she muttered under her breath.
