CHAPTER 219

Immediately Jade left him, she made her way to Macy's house. She knew better now and saw things in a whole new and brand light.

Her friend has been there for her even though things had not been convenient. Even though she had been a really thick head about things, Macy was so kind not to give up on her and continue advising her while also helping her run the company.

If she looked back now, her friend had always got her back and that had even gladdened her heart that through thick or thin, she was there.

Quickly she increased her speed and rushed up to her.

DING DONG!

"Coming, just a sec!" Macy yelled from inside the house. Jade smiled upon hearing her voice.

It somehow brought her peace and calm just from doing that. This was great! Seems like she was really in a good mood today, right?

The door pulled open revealing Macy in a blue short and black baggy t-shirt, with her hair tied in a bun and her face, smeared with…

"Flour! Really, my friend is baking, what devil chased you?" Jade asked with a face full of smiles as she stared at her friend with that knowing gaze.

Macy on the other hand had her mouth opened wide. She was least expecting the person who knocked to be Jade.

It wasn't that she was against her visiting but because since this whole charade happened, they had hardly seen not to talk of visiting each other, especially Jade.

"Hmm, what devil blew you in here?" Macy jokingly asked, closing her mouth and smiling at her friend.

"Umm, let's just say umm… your Dragon Lord."

"Now my dragon Lord ain't a devil, baby girl. No, really what devil did?"

"His mate bond did," she joked before flinging her hands up in glee. "Can't I miss my friend anymore?"

"Oh Jade…" Macy smiled weakly, controlling herself not to cry when she saw Jade's tears and rushed into her embrace. "Says who you cannot visit? My house is your house, girl. My doors are always and would be always opened to you."

"Macy, I miss you," Jade voiced out her innermost feelings.

She did indeed miss Macy. She missed their girls time and how they were closed. She had been lonely all this time without her but she was just too sad and heartbroken to want to reach out or accept when her friend did.

Being lonely was indeed what she felt she needed but in actual fact, it was not really what was needed.

She needed to be loved in all ways possible. Both girls hugged for a while before pulling back and Macy lead Jade in. "Come in, dear. I am here for you anytime."

"Thanks, Mace. I really do appreciate you," Jade said, walking in with her friend.

Immediately they entered, Macy paved her way back to her kitchen to continue with what she was doing, while Jade, being inquisitive, tagged along.

"Macy, what actually chased you to bake? It has been ages since you did."

"Well, technically dear, not ages but months before you came."

"We are saying the same thing. Why?"

"Well, I just got busy and when you came, we did more expansion, so more work. Today, however, Jay said he loved cookies and I decided to make him a surprise one and send it over to him."

"Great. Now I see your motivation stems from a guy and because I wasn't one, my dear old baby did not bake."

"Oh get out, naughty girl." They giggled, laughing at their own jokes before turning serious and getting back to work. "So what's up? How are you feeling dear?"

"Better."

"Wow."

"What's wow."

"Nothing. I am just saying, wow."

"Macy, spill, what is it?"

"Something's changed, Jade. Something has changed about you and it is not just because you missed me, sweetheart. There is something else. You…" she pointed her index finger at her. "You, Jade Nova Frost, spill the bean."

"Hey!"

Jade's eyes widened, feeling accused by something she did not know or she did know but did not want to admit.

"Deny it all you want, you know very well that won't work out with me. What happened to, you wanna revenge and all that stuff?" She paused, waiting to observe her friend's reaction first.

"Funny enough, not that I am complaining, it is just that even the air  around you is different."

"Different how?" She leaned back against the kitchen counter with her arms crossed underneath her breast and waited for her friend to explain.

"Different in that you are happier. It is like you have found joy anew or a new reason to smile and no longer is the air around you about revenge."

"Wow!"

"Yes, wow. Now you get me. Jade, see, I am glad alright but I need to be sure that this is not going to be temporal. I want you I know to return."

"I am still me."

Macy shook her head. "You are coming back but your pain and your rage took you away and that brightness and light about you, was gone."

"So now?"

"I don't know, you tell me. You are the one who's changed."

"I don't know too. You are the one noticing. I just missed my friend and hurried over."

"Really." She gave that quizzical, tell me about it look. "Fine, let me go straight to the point, I suppose. What did Xander do to you to make you all giddy or are you somewhat under a spell?"

"Now you are the naughty one."

"Nope, I am speaking clearly. You know, you have that air about you of when a girl just did it for the first time and with the guy she loves. It is like your body is itching for more. You wished it didn't stop. You want to go… ohhh yeaahhh, Xanderrr, oh come on, baby…"

Jade looked on with mouth agape at her friend's display of a lady in love.

"Getaway, you know what I mean. So what changed?"

"I went to kill him."
