CHAPTER 215 – Flying: First Time With You
"Hmm… I want to be free and I wish I could fly away."
As she made her silent wish, she shut her eyes close and relaxed her mind. Her heart was opened and all she wanted was to be free. In that state, nothing else mattered to her and she wanted to let the wind shed her pains and hurt away and she allowed it.
Not long after, she soon found herself being lifted up from the ground but Jade did not open her eyes.
She thought it was just the wind blowing strong and even when she ought to have been scared, she did not bother and felt free with it.
After about three minutes, she suddenly felt that the breeze had begun to blow strongly, still Jade made no effort to move or bother with anything.
"One with nature, how sweet," Jade muttered to herself and inhaled deeply.
The minute she did this, she felt the all familiar lovely minty, scent of her lover attack her nostrils and her eyes at once shot open.
Her brain was in a quick mess the second his scent assaulted her nostrils.
She knew that scent anywhere and the thought that the wind could bring his scent to her did not seem so logical except she was now going mad with over missing him that she would believe her mind was playing tricks on her.
It was at this point when she looked carefully that she noticed all she saw was just the plain sky and not the lake she sat looking over.
Confusion laced in her sparkling blue eyes which were as clear as the sky itself. Taking in everything, it began to dawn on her that she was ascending and not just being static.
"Oh my!" As she said it, she instinctively wanted to push back and she noticed her body hit something hard. Not as hard as the wooden place she sat on but hard and strong as well as having a soft feeling to it.
It was now it dawned on her that someone or something had been holding her. Immediately she turned her head to the other side and lifted her eyes up, only for her gaze to lock with his.
His similar clear blue eyes seemed to depict the depth of the ocean itself, having a certain kind of sadness in it as well as another glimmer of joy.
For a second there, she seemed so lost in his eyes that she forgot to breathe at all. It felt like the world stood still to honour their moment and she was happy.
Her eyes trailed up, past his facial appearance. She noticed that he was way more handsome than before.
Somehow she could see his distinct features more clearly even down to the small black dot at the end of his left eyebrows and the lovely blue hue at the edges of the depth of his deep blue eyes or was it how pointed and nice his nose was?
Everything seemed clearer now for some reason. Feeling intrigued by the new discovery, Jade decided to take this moment to study his face more to see what new things lay hidden in her diminished sight before.
Subconsciously, she reached up with her eyes at his hair. Only for her gaze to lock on the pair of black horns that stood proudly on his head.
Her eyes widened a fraction and her gaze dropped back to his, as she saw him watch her, with a face unmoving but filled with emotion nonetheless.
Seeing that he wasn't scared about her seeing him like that, Jade found her inner courage and peeled her eyes from his, trailing them back to the top of his head, an inch at a time.
A part of her was scared but then knowing that the man before her was one who would do anything to protect her, she tucked her fear to the back of her mind and faced the situation head-on.
This time around, she wasn't as shocked as before. All that remained in her eyes was fascination and awe. Right now, she wasn't even concerned about the fact that she was flying but was more concerned about seeing this other side of him.
After what seemed to be like forever, Jade finally spoke. And when she did, they were words that he wasn't expecting one bit.
"Beautiful." Due to the fact that he least expected her to say that, he was shocked and speechless when she did. Seeing his reaction, Jade felt like he did not understand her words and she thought to elaborate more.
"Your horns, they are beautiful."
He did not say anything after that and let his eyelids drop to a close as he envisioned her touching his horn and letting her warm soft hands glide over it.
At the same time when he thought that, Jade too closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. In the same vein, she felt the need to want to touch it and feel it if it was real or was just a fragment of her imagination.
Instinctively, she reached u with her right hand and cupped his left cheek soothingly. At that moment nothing seemed to matter for the broken lovers but them. Jade's hand moved up a bit, rubbing at the side of his head then brought it back down to his face again.
They both pried their eyes open and stared at the other with so much emotion in their blue eyes. For Xander, he felt a feeling he did not understand.
He felt immense joy… Joy overload ended up bringing a certain calm within and added no sorrow to it while also feeling at ease and wanting more.
Feeling touched by what she did, he leaned his head sideways into her hand, enjoying the feel of her soft skin on his face before turning his head so he could nestle his face at the centre of her palm and then he kissed her there.
