The shards of the chaos-causing flute were literally indestructible.

A thoughtful look appeared on Roy's face.

'Maybe I will be able to destroy it once my magic fire reaches level 13.'

There was no guarantee of success, however.

He turned towards the last item in his hand.

It was a part of the runic stone of history.

Malach Shadowborn had told many lies, but at least he was truthful about it being having three pieces.

'My quest won't be completed unless it's complete. Where are the other two parts?' Roy wondered.

Hoping that knowing more about it would make a difference, he inspected it.

『Ding! Inspection Successful!』

『You have gained the [Status Screen] of the first shard of the runic stone of history!』

Roy read through its status screen.

It was the key to unlocking the content locked inside the second shard of the stone of history

It could also be used to locate it.

It would start heating up if the second shard was in the same place as it.

And when the first and second shards of the runic stone of history were combined, the location of the third shard would be revealed. The third shard could grant access to the information database of the Far West Major Realm. It could be used to transfer any knowledge a person has to anyone in the Far West Major Realm, whether they are in the Far West Continent or the small and fragmented world attached to it!

It meant that the content inside the second shard that could ruin Chaos's and Death's plan could be spread widely easily using the third shard, and there would be no hindrance either!

'The human Monarch was sure that the truth he had hidden inside it could be used as a weapon against them. I can give them a massive blow once I obtain the other two shards.'

Roy really wanted to know what knowledge the human monarch had put inside it, and he also wanted to ruin the plan of his enemies.

Thus, he was determined to complete the runic stone of history.

'I can't store it in my storage items, or it won't work. I have to keep it on me all the time.' Roy thought as he rubbed the first shard with his thumb.

He attached it to the string of the necklace around his neck.

'Since the first shard is not reacting, it means that the second shard isn't here.'

'I have got what I came here for. There's no reason to stay in this place.' Roy thought as he summoned the aura-reinforced sword, Thunder, and jumped on it. 'It's time to leave.'

Just as he was about to fly away, his sixth sense tingled. The odd feeling that he has been feeling since he entered the Southern Underground Area of the Ashen Land intensified.

Something was eyeing him obsessively, but he couldn't tell from where!

"Come closer," the voice he had heard back on the cliff whispered again, and this time, it was closer than before!

Roy spun around, streaks of black aura lightning buzzing out of him. He was ready to attack whatever was behind him, but there was no one there. Just like last time, it had vanished after whispering some words in his ears.

Roy felt his heart tremble. 'Am I really haunted by a ghost?!'

The darkness of the surroundings that enveloped him seemed to be alive and breathing, and he could feel its malevolent presence, but he couldn't tell where it was.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?" he demanded again in a loud and booming voice as he looked around.

"You don't remember me?" the voice asked, this time almost a whisper.

Roy couldn't pinpoint where it originated as it sounded from everywhere around him.

Roy's heartbeat remained stable. He had never heard its voice before entering this place. It didn't sound familiar at all. There was nothing telling him that he should know who it belonged to.

"I don't." Roy spat out the truth. "And why would I know why you're bugging me? It's not like we have met before. So stop bothering me!"

"How could you… how could you forget me?!!!" the voice shrieked, and Roy could feel the anger and pain in its tone.

As Roy stood in the center of the monument, a sudden gust of cold wind brushed past his face, shaking his state of mind. Ripples appeared in his heart as a result. For the first time, he was not as calm as he appeared to be.

The massive structures that surrounded him, towering like skyscrapers, started to uproot from the ground. It was as if a powerful magic had taken hold of them, lifting them into the air.

Whoosh!

His eyes widened as he saw them hurtling towards him. He quickly maneuvered his sword, using his skill to dodge the collision of the buildings and propel himself towards the sky.

"It's showing its true face!"

Roy recognized that his words had pressed its button, making it angry enough to want him dead.

He knew he needed to leave the underground area immediately! He couldn't defeat an enemy that he couldn't see, touch, or locate.

"I am not going to fight this unfavorable battle!"

The thought of fighting it didn't even enter Roy's mind. He just wanted to leave this weird-ass place.

But there was one problem!

He had no idea where the exit was or even if there was one.

He had a hunch thought that going up was his only chance for escape.

After all, it was mentioned that he was in the Southern Ungergound of the Ashen Land, and going up is typically the only way to surface from under the earth.

"You aren't abandoning me again! I won't let you leave my side!" the feminine voice of an unknown person shrieked.

Rumble!

As soon as it roared, the entire southern underground area of the Ashen Land trembled, and the sky seemed to sway back and forth like a gelatinous mass.
