Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 885 Acquisition (25)

As if reading Gaham's mind, Kesiah chuckled softly and said, 'Mo is there. If he sensed the King was in danger, he would definitely return to the castle.

'Gael's minions might have found the other end of the transmission array connected to the one in Larkring, and destroyed it, but there are other ways for them to return directly.'

'Like Filren and the others did from last time.'

'That's right. That is something we have to stop no matter what. Until we confirm Lord Nar's success, we must do our part.'

Gaham's frown deepened at her words, 'You put so much trust in him, Princess. He may have connections with that silver humanoid dragon, but what has his connection done for us thus far? Nothing.'

Gael could not help but chuckle. He wanted to clarify their Master's supposed connection with the silver humanoid dragon. But since the subject matter had no plans on clarifying it, then who was he to meddle?

In any case, Gael believed that Gaham harboring some doubts was not a bad thing in their current situation. As a matter of fact, it helped to have someone looking at things from a different angle to provide a subjective point. Especially since Gael and Kesiah tended to make decisions based on their unwavering trust in their Master.

Gaham looked at Gael, somewhat peeved at the latter's reaction. He mistook Gael's reaction as if to make fun of him. In the end, he did not say anything because he knew Gael was one of Kyran's people. Gaham was not petty to harbor ill feelings toward someone who blindly followed another because he was the same in that aspect, with Kesiah being that someone he followed.

On the other hand, Kesiah looked at Gaham awkwardly. She disliked how the latter discredited their Master. In the end, she had no choice but to reign in her annoyance and continue with what she was doing.

'Once this is over, you'll understand why I trust Lord Nar. He will not disappoint,' Kesiah told Gaham instead. Then she directed her next words to Gael, 'Please cover for me. The Royal Family's forces might now be under our control, but there is no telling if there would be others who will defect.'

'Don't worry and continue what you are doing.'

'I only need a quarter of an hour.'

'Alright.'

After Kyran turned the two unconscious aides into his Sigil, their injuries were healed under the influence of the Sigil's Blessings. When they recovered and regained consciousness, they realized what had happened. Yet, like Filren, they did not do anything to Kyran. They even warmed up to him quickly.

Their reaction was mainly due to the fact that they found the shackles they received from becoming a Sigil far more beneficial and friendly compared to the King's pact. Besides, they now have freedom in a sense.

Saying they got their freedom when they had become a Sigil to another might sound contradicting, but the two aides were the only ones who could properly explain why they thought that way.

After that, Kyran checked the five Nobles he absorbed and summoned them. This would be the first time he turned a group of Elementors.

Previously, Gael was considered an Elementor, but after his Shadow magic evolved, he seemed more like a Transmuter, even a Summoner. As for Achim and the rest, they were combat mages who could be a mix of any of these three Abjurer, Enchanter, and Transmuter.

Kyran wanted to see how much change an Elementor would undergo after their innate magic received the Void's baptism.

What Kyran saw surprised him. He only had a vague idea of the changes in their magic, but it was enough high expectations for their performance in battle.

The two aides who saw Kyran summoning the five Nobles also sensed the slight change in their innate magic. They were shocked beyond belief and looked at Kyran with fear.

Where did he send the Nobles when they entered those fissures earlier? What did he do to them for their innate magic to have such change?

Several questions fleeted on their minds but were afraid to voice them. Their fear was not due to their status as Kyran's Sigil, but because they already had an idea and were afraid to confirm it. After all, it concerned Ancient Magic.

After confirming the change in the Nobles did not affect their abilities to perform well in battle, Kyran sent them to his Void World first. He did not want them to walk around in a group because that would make it harder for them to move around. Besides, he had yet to learn how to cooperate with them in battle. If they were not careful, they might end up hurting the two aides who were turned into Sigils and did not receive certain immunity over Void magic.

When the Nobles were gone, Kyran asked the two aides where Filren's Divine Aramment was sealed.

The three of them left the Throne Room and entered the side door where the quarters of the twelve aides to the King resided.

The King's aides' quarter was not large. It could even be considered a dormitory because there were a total of six bunk beds.

"You guys stayed here all the time?" Kyran could not help but ask with raised brows.

"Yes, Master," one of the aides named Armak, answered.

Kyran sighed inwardly. He actually received some of the memories they had but none of them showed their quarters. Surprisingly, the King was truly a coward for keeping his aides close to him. Not only that, he had kept them hidden inside a small room and only provided bunk beds for them to sleep in.I think you should take a look at lightsnovel.cοm

There were small drawer cabinets at each side of the beds where they kept their belongings and other necessities, but apart from that, and a corner with an empty rack Kyran guessed was where their armors were stored, there was nothing else.

Besides that, the air inside the quarters was a little stuffy because there was only a row of ventilation that also served as a window at one wall, opposite the door.

"I think I now understand why you guys accepted the Sigil's mark so willingly."

Armak, and Breira, the name of the other aide, smiled wryly. They previously thought becoming one of the strongest Knights would help alleviate the restrictions the King had on them. Instead, the King placed additional shackles to prevent them from doing anything else.

Kyran looked at them from the corner of his eyes. He found the talents of these two aides good since they were a rare combat mage that was a mix of an Abjurer and an Enchanter. If used properly, they could become good scouts or even spies.

"Where is Filren's Divine Armament?" he asked, getting back on business.

Breira raised his hand toward the opposite wall, his palm facing forward.

Soon, a distortion in space appeared at the small aisle that led to those small rows of windows, and a hovering rectangular box where Filren's Divine Armament was sealed, appeared.

"The King asked us to hide it here using our magic. He believed this would be the last place Filren would think of if he rebelled and searched for his Divine Armament."

Kyran shook his head, "The location did not matter, to be honest. Filren had been under Aran's pact. He could never defy him. Your King is only paranoid."

"He is no longer our King," the two aides answered in unison.

Kyran chuckled at their response and made his way toward the box, "Right. My bad."

Armak and Breira's eyes widened when they saw him approach the box.

"Wait, Master! My traps are still in place!"

"Master, Armak's traps are still active!"

Armak and Breira shouted respectively.

"It's fine," Kyran replied with a slight wave of his hand.

Armak tried to deactivate his traps but was surprised to find he could no longer sense them.

"This..."

Breira also noticed something amiss and looked at Kyran's back in wonder.

Currently, Kyran's eyes had turned dark purple while he made a rare exception of using his magic sense to remove the traps inside the quarters. Since he was aware of what Armak and Breira could do, he would not carelessly walk around without checking the room for hidden traps.

Kyran did not notice Filren's Divine Armament was actually hovering before their eyes because he had not deployed his magic sense yet. Still, he did not expect Breira's enchantment could muddle his natural senses. His senses had been enhanced as well, yet failed to detect any anomaly!

Kyran was happy he decided to turn the aides into Sigil rather than becoming his Servants.

After taking the box, Kyran realized that the box itself was a magic item with array calculations. He tapped on the box's surface destroying its effect in an instant.

'Filren, you can now unsummon your Divine Armament.'

[Yes, Master. Thank you very much!]

Soon after he said that the box on Kyran's hands crumbled, shocking both Armak and Breira.

"Now, take me to where Aran ran off to," he said while turning to look at them.
