Chapter 101 - Where are you touching?

This chapter is brought to you by liang liang stan!! Thank you for the Ko-Fis!

Given how obvious his straying gaze was, Liang Chuhan asked: “Is xuezhang trying to find someone?”

She exposed his preoccupation with one sentence. Liao Su laughed, saying, “Where’s Xiao Linzi?”

Once Liang Chulin was mentioned, a slight smile appeared on Liang Chuhan’s face. “You’re looking for him? He’s not there.”

She left her words partially complete as she let out a low chuckle.

Despite giving the square array formed by the boys in the Liberal Arts College a few sweeping glances, You Liangxing did not manage to find a shadow of Liang Chulin, and the same could evidently be said for Kang Shengzhe as well.

“Hm? That’s strange, that’s strange, where is he?” Liao Su muttered before he noticed a glint of amusement flashing past Liang Chuhan’s eyes. Then, he came to a realisation, “No way, was Xiao Linzi separated?”

Liang Chuhan nodded and You Liangxing immediately understood as well. After the military training entered the formal stage, all of the square arrays had to go through a reorganisation, and the basis for the new formations was one simple and rough word: Height.

And if height was the criteria, it was of no surprise that Liang Chulin was distributed elsewhere.

“Ah, no wonder. I almost forgot about this. Which square array is Xiao Linzi in then? Also K, Kang Shengzhe, I don’t see Kang Shengzhe either.”

He did not know if he should applaud Liao Su for remembering Kang Shengzhe’s name. You Liangxing patiently waited for the answer but the topic seemed to have greatly amused Liang Chuhan, such that she made this suggestion instead: “Would you like to try and find them yourself?”

Since Liang Chuhan put it that way, it was evident that they were not sorted into ordinary places. Resolute, Liao Su said: “Sure.” Then, he tugged You Liangxing away as he said, “Let’s go and take a look around, Brother Liang.”

Since they said they were going to find them, they went for it but it was inconvenient for Liang Chuhan because she still had a job to do. Hence, while borrowing the high-sounding reason of having to conduct inspections, You Liangxing and Liao Su did a full inspection of all the boys’ square array. While others assumed that they were being dedicated, they did not know that Liao Su was treating it as a treasure hunt and he was wearing a face of excitement from beginning to end.

However, ten minutes later, Liao Su gradually showed some disappointment. “They’re not around, we’ve gone through everything once.”

With height being the standard, You Liangxing and Liao Su had already carefully searched the boys with the lowest height but it had yielded no results. Thus, You Liangxing suggested, “Could he be at the girls’ side?”

Liao Su: “... No way, right? Being at the girls’ section is too...”

His words came to a halt and Liao Su’s face became rigid as he snapped towards the other direction. Since the pair’s bitter searching did not yield any results, they had to go to the girls’ section to check. After taking a few steps towards the square array formed out of people with around the 1.6 metre mark, they managed to find Liang Chulin in the first row.

Not only was his taut face dark, his expression was also as black as the bottom of the pot.

It was no surprise that he was akin to a deflated airbag; a square array consisted of two hundred people and he was the only boy amongst one hundred and ninety-nine girls. If it was changed to anyone else, their psychological bearing would face total collapse.

“Holy shit, he’s really there... Ahahahahahaha, hahahahaha!!!”

Liao Su was basically wheezing from his laughter. On the other hand, Liang Chulin, who had been standing in military position, had his attention drawn to the laughter and he suddenly saw You Liangxing’s bright eyes. He looked away and sucked in a breath before making a suffocated noise through his nasal cavity.

Liao Su gasped, “How is he so funny.”

You Liangxing did not have much thoughts about it. In the moment where his gaze landed on Liang Chulin’s person, it stopped there briefly before he looked into the distance unconsciously.

If their distribution was in accordance with their heights, he was afraid that Kang Shengzhe was in a similar situation where he belonged to group where “no one wanted to combine with them”. Since he was not part of the 1.8 metres to 1.9 metres male square formation who were already assembled and getting by, he could only be in the national flag bearing team.

“Brother Liang, why don’t you go ahead? I’ll stay here and wait for Xiao Linzi first, and I’ll come over and find the both of you in a few minutes. Hey, remember to take care of my God K well, okay?”

Since you are concerned about Kang Shengzhe, why don’t you go yourself?

Thinking that, You Liangxing gave him a sweeping glance and ventured towards the national flag team without a pause.

They were not far away and he could not stop his heart from jumping with joy. As his eyes observed the national flag team, he was not surprised in the least when he caught sight of a really big figure.

The national flag team’s training had always been strict and You Liangxing had no intention of distracting this silly tall man. Thus, he stood firmly in the shade of the trees that was not far from where the team was located at and watched Kang Shengzhe practice from afar.

But frankly speaking, the sight of him was funny because Kang Shengzhe’s stature was exceedingly tall which made it difficult for the national flag team – one that was commonly known for their admirable and long statures – to even accommodate him. When he stood with them, it made the team look extremely uncoordinated no matter how they attempted to arrange him, and they reached the same conclusion they had when You Liangxing was a freshman.

Kang Shengzhe had to carry the flag.

The person carrying the flag was always at the helm and there was no one in the distance to make a basis for comparison, and it was also a position that You Liangxing once filled. Soon, he became engrossed watching. Then, Kang Shengzhe unexpectedly turned back and their eyes met, which caused Kang Shengzhe to narrow his own eyes at him before a smile blossomed across his face.

His visage had always been a point that jabbed at You Liangxing, to say nothing of it when he showed such a serendipitous and undisguised smiling expression. You Liangxing’s eyes crinkled too and he felt a fleeting sensation.

... Seriously.

This person was really...

You Liangxing could not think of any descriptors but the delight he felt from seeing the other party smile at him was not a bad one.

Vested with interest, You Liangxing watched on for another ten minutes and as a result of that, Kang Shengzhe was punished by a school senior to do twenty push ups for turning his head frequently. Once his punishment was completed, he was allowed some time for rest and Kang Shengzhe did not even wipe away his sweat before he sprinted over. He said, “Liang Liang, did you specifically come to find me?”

You Liangxing did not answer and handed him the iced honey water instead. Kang Shengzhe tilted his head back and drank the contents in one gulp and said happily: “Resurrection armour ah~”

Upon seeing how refreshed he was from the drink, You Liangxing discerned that he was in a good mood, and it was only then that he chose to speak. “Your tooth isn’t fully healed yet, speak less.”

Kang Shengzhe was full of smiles. After he had returned for military training, his previous military training uniform had been swapped for the national flag team’s uniform which gave the impression that he was tall, straight and elegant; stylish even. However, the sizing of the uniform was not exactly suitable because his ankles were partially exposed. And under the heat of the sun, the lower half of his ankles were darker than the upper half.

Indeed, he had become tanner.

Kang Shengzhe’s skin was rather white, and it became particularly obvious whenever he became a shade darker. Without further delay, he took out the sunscreen spray and handed it over, causing Kang Shengzhe to ask: “Is it for me?”

You Liangxing nodded and Kang Shengzhe’s eyes bent in reply as he immediately took it as well. Brows curved, he said: “It’s a good thing, I’ll bring it back and offer it in worship tonight.”

You Liangxing: “Less drivel.”

Kang Shengzhe said: “When did I speak drivel? How could I bear to use the things you gave me? I definitely have to treasure them.”

You Liangxing found that strange and he could not help but ask: “Then what of the sweets I gave you in Beijing?”

With a serious face, Kang Shengzhe said: “I placed it on my bedside table. Every time I want to eat it, I’ll sniff it instead.”

You Liangxing: “Are your sweets used for smelling?”

“The sweets that Liang Liang brought are indeed used for smelling. Because, what am I supposed to use to recall all those romantic moments if I have none left after eating all the sweets?”

You Liangxing: “......” You’re crazy.

He would always drift further off topic whenever he was chatting with Kang Shengzhe. You Liangxing gave him a fierce glare before he seized the sunscreen spray from him. “Stop talking nonsense and use it.”

Kang Shengzhe’s pain was essentially written all over his face, “Don’t, that’s my collectable item.”

Angrily, You Liangxing said, “I’ll buy you more tomorrow.”

With his word of guarantee, Kang Shengzhe no longer insisted and he even sincerely instructed him: “Make sure you remember, yeah? I can remind you if you don’t remember.”

From the bottom of his heart, You Liangxing felt that there was no one in the world who had as many issues as Kang Shengzhe.

After pulling off the spray bottle cap, You Liangxing pressed it twice to avail. He had never used such a thing before and he did not know how to open the bottle which caused Kang Shengzhe to laugh, “I’ll do it.”

You Liangxing said, “You know how to?”

Kang Shengzhe: “Of course, I’m not a straight man, I’ve already been bent.”

You Liangxing: “......”

Feeling powerless in his attempt to hold a conversation to him and, You Liangxing simply chose not to answer. Meanwhile, Kang Shengzhe opened the bottle with the calm expression before he sprayed it in his palm. Subsequently after, he held onto You Liangxing’s hand and pasted their hands together to smear the contents on it.

You Liangxing had always felt that something was not right from the beginning, but it was only until Kang Shengzhe had fondled his hand for a long time that he came to realise something: “Why are you smearing it on me?”

Kang Shengzhe felt the same, “That’s true.”

As he said that, he reluctantly let go of You Liangxing’s hand before he placed the bottle in his hand which earned Kang Shengzhe a cold look from him. Then, he imitated Kang Shengzhe’s actions and sprayed it in his own palms before he bent down and gripped onto Kang Shengzhe’s ankles with both his hands.

The weather was very hot and the liquid in his palms were cold. When he applied the layer of cool sunscreen on Kang Shengzhe’s warm ankles, You Liangxing abruptly aborted his actions.

A short beat later, he jerked his head up and said: “Why am I applying it for you, apply it yourself!”

Feeling aggrieved, Kang Shengzhe grumbled, “What are you being angry for? Liang Liang was the one who bent over just now, I didn’t say anything.”

He did not say anything, but he had used his own actions to lead You Liangxing astray. As he glared at him, You Liangxing spoke from between gritted teeth, “Vile.”

Kang Shengzhe laughed out loud, “You’re wrong about that. I’m very big, exceedingly big and exceptionally big, I’m big everywhere.”

You Liangxing: “......”

Kang Shengzhe was very quick in doing things, and it did not take him long before he covered his ankles completely. You Liangxing reminded him, “Face.”

Kang Shengzhe made a noise in response and started to smear the product on his face. As he was applying the sunscreen, he joked, “Liang Liang, you must like my face quite a bit, no?”

You Liangxing said: “En.”

Kang Shengzhe froze. According to their usual logic, You Liangxing would usually ignore these types of jokes; but now that he had given a positive reply, Kang Shengzhe was a little taken aback instead.

“You, you like my face?”

You Liangxing said, “Have I never said that? I liked your face from the first time I met you.”

Kang Shengzhe: “No, you’ve never said it before.” He paused for a while before speaking again, “Wh— for real?”

You Liangxing gave him a faint nod and Kang Shengzhe stilled for a good couple of seconds. Right after that, he spritzed half of the bottle of sunscreen on his face.

Seeing that, You Liangxing let out a peal of laughter.

Whereas Kang Shengzhe seemed to have discovered a new continent and he became happier the longer he thought about it. “If you like my face, does this mean that you’ve always found me handsome whenever you looked at me?”

You Liangxing asked, “Handsome?”

Kang Shengzhe returned a question, “I’m not handsome?”

Regarding this, You Liangxing was extremely blunt, “Not handsome.”

Thus, Kang Shengzhe stood up and hurriedly said: “I’m not handsome right now? My current uniform looks better than before.”

His clothes did look better but the person was not framed by it well enough. As You Liangxing stood up, he said: “Stand up straight.” Once Kang Shengzhe adjusted his posture properly, You Liangxing scrutinised him only to emphasise again. “Stand up straight.”

Kang Shengzhe felt that he was already standing upright but You Liangxing was dissatisfied. “Your posturing isn’t right. Your back isn’t straight enough.”

Kang Shengzhe hummed, “I think I’m very erect.”

You Liangxing: “... Speak properly.”

Just verbally conveying his meaning was useless of course. You Liangxing brought his legs together and stood upright. They were doing the same posture, but the aura he gave off showed a vast difference as compared to before.

You Liangxing said: “Look at my back. A flag bearer should be standing like this.”

Needless to say, Kang Shengzhe had been staring at him nonstop from the very beginning. With You Liangxing’s back muscles jutting out before his eyes, the prominent arcs squeezed at his heart.

Kang Shengzhe said: “Can I touch it?”

Since he had already adjusted his posture, touching it would definitely be more effective than merely looking. As You Liangxing held his upright posture, he allowed Kang Shengzhe to place his hands on him.

A short while later, You Liangxing said, “Kang Shengzhe! Where are you touching?”
