Hiro and Liberty had arrived at an old abandoned building. The building was made of wood, without the slightest iron on its construction. The wood was very sturdy, as strong as the trees that grew on the ground that were always covered by snow.
There was no light from inside the building. However, the sound of whispers and hisses that made the fine hairs shiver kept repeating from the windows that were left open.
“Uhmm Hiro, is this the place?” Liberty pressed her body against Hiro. The girl even hid behind Hiro’s back and buried her face a little there.
“I told you, you might be scared. Did you change your mind now, Libe?” Hiro asked, confirming one last time.
In contrast to Liberty, who had started to tremble in fear, Hiro actually looked very calm. He really didn’t like ghosts, especially those in human form, but he had instilled a belief in his heart that they were only ghosts made of program data, so they were not real.
“No, I’m not afraid.” Liberty said a little hesitantly, her voice getting smaller and weaker.
Hiro chuckled, it was obvious that Liberty was afraid of what awaited them in the building. However, he purposely ignored the girl’s acting and started walking toward the only three-meter-high wooden door that loomed before him. It was the entrance to the building.
An inscription that Hiro recognized as the demon bloodline letters was engraved on the door leaf. He immediately activated the Demon’s eyes to read it.
“Anyone who enters will be lost and will never be able to get out unless you know that there is no way out of this house.”
The sentence was quite confusing, and Hiro had to read it carefully for fear of misreading it.-ɴ(0ᴠᴇ)ʟ.
However, the result remained the same.
“Why, Hiro?” Liberty asked curiously as she saw Hiro was frowning.
“Nothing, just some weird writing. It’s impossible for a game developer to mistype a word, right?” Hiro muttered, making Liberty even more confused, so she didn’t know what to say.
Hiro then continued walking ahead and opened the wooden door knob. However, the door could not be opened.
“Hiro, looks like we were in the wrong place. Maybe this one can’t be entered,” Liberty cheeped hopefully.
However, Hiro knew that he wouldn’t be wrong. Then, he took a step back from the front door before kicking the door hard.
.ᴄOᴍ Bang!
Slam!
The door burst open with a single kick. However, a very strong wind blew from inside the house. At first, the wind pushed Hiro and Liberty back for a few seconds before finally sucking in both of them as they both focused on keeping their weight forward so they wouldn’t be thrown backwards.
Bang!
The door closed again after sucking Hiro and Liberty into the inside of the building.
Ding!
[You have entered the haunted house dungeon]
[This is not a hidden dungeon. But no one could ever escape from this dungeon]
Ding!
[Special condition has been applied]
[Dungeon privilege: All players who have given up in this dungeon will be reset to level 0 and will have to start the game from the beginning. Don’t worry, this privilege is not including your inventory]
“Damn… what kind of rule is that?” Hiro really didn’t know about that shitty rule because no one had ever talked about it before. However, it was too late for him to back down now that the door had suddenly disappeared from the wall.
“Hiro, what is this place?” Liberty was standing with trembling legs. She wouldn’t let go of Hiro’s hand in such a state of fear.
“Don’t worry. Take out your gun. The monsters here must be the demon type. You’re safe with Hellsing Whisper, Libe.” Hiro tried to calm the girl down, then drew his sword, just in case a monster came to attack them.
They both walked towards the stairs. The building resembled a tower that had more than 10 floors. On the ground floor, they couldn’t find anything but terrible noises and a scorching stench of something.
Meanwhile, on the next floor, dozens of zombies suddenly greeted the two of them as soon as they set foot on that floor.
The zombies were in human form with wrecked faces and blood that kept pouring out horribly.
The stench must have come from them.
Ding!
[Level 90. Starve Zombie]
[race: Undead/unholy/Demon]
One thing that made their arrival not a problem for Hiro was their extremely slow movement.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Liberty started shooting zombies right in the head until their heads exploded and their rotting brains splattered on the floor.
Meanwhile, Hiro quickly bolted in a zigzag to slash the heads of the zombies horizontally.
Splat! Splat! Splat!
It was Level 90, but it was classified as a weak monster because it was really slow. Moreover, they occupied the lowest floor of the haunted house.
In a matter of minutes, the Zombies had been eliminated.
“Good job, Libe.” Hiro praised sincerely. He was a little proud to see Liberty who could aim without missing the target now, even though the girl’s legs were still shaking. She had really grown further than before.
Liberty thrust a ‘peace’ with her finger in front of Hiro. The girl smiled widely, as if she had just finished a game in the play zone.
The two of them then continued walking to find the next ladder. The room on the floor was so spacious that it made them a bit confused because from the outside the building wasn’t really that big. However, once they were inside, it seemed to have tripled in size.
“Hiro over there!” Liberty whispered while pointing into the darkness. There was a door to the room that had been left swinging open, and the staircase they were looking for was behind it, as if it had been left open to hide it from them.
Hiro nodded and led Liberty towards the stairs until suddenly they heard a deafening sound of footsteps. Those footsteps ran very fast and made the wooden floor on which they stood up moved as if there was an earthquake.
Ding!
[The First floor boss has appeared in front of you]
A zombie monster with an enormous body and a very foul smell came out of the room whose door was opened with some difficulty. Being trapped in the door, the monster suddenly slammed its fist hard against the wooden wall that was squeezing its body. It made the wall instantly crumble.
Groaaaa!
Its body was enormous and looked like a gorilla with two arms larger than a pair of legs. It even used those hands to walk. The bulging muscles on its pale blue skin showed that the monster was a physical type. However, there was something that made Liberty instantly feel nauseous.
The monster’s stomach kept moving, as if it was about to burst. The zombies that looked like they were still alive kept trying to get out of the monster’s bloated stomach. It seemed they had been swallowed alive and were in the process of being digested.
