Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 491 Battle In The Space, Part 1/2

491 Battle In The Space, part 1/2

POV Vesuvius:

As the last wisps of cosmic dust cleared, the dragon's shield flickered out. His armor buzzed with raw, stellar energy, spitting purple solar plasma into the void. The energy of the enemy rays lingered and relentlessly devoured his armor, disintegrating it molecule by molecule.

Suddenly, the void blazed brighter, the purple flames turning golden and purging the remnants of the exotic energy. The cracks started to mend, yet a storm of fury brewed inside of him. 'Ambushed, unprovoked!' If he could growl in the vacuum of space, he would.

Drawing from his core, a torrent of mana surged, fueling his wrath and morphing into a devastating force within his jaws. The anticipation of unleashing his supernova breath for the first time sent a thrilling shiver through his immense body.

'Burn!'

Then, with ferocity in his eyes, he guided more energy and annoyance into his breath gland.

A black beam, burning with purple solar flames, lanced forth, slicing the star system in two, its radiance rivaling that of the star behind the dragon. It met the enemy vessel, cleaving it effortlessly, the hull peeling open like a fruit. The ship crumbled, sucked into the beam's maw, disintegrating into nothingness.

But the dragon was not done. Swinging his colossal neck, he swept the supernova beam across the battlefield as if it were a giant sword.

The beam's gravitational pull pulled asteroids, enemy crafts, and the scattered debris of war into itself, tearing and crumpling the metal like thin sheets of paper. Drawn into its blazing core, everything was obliterated in a flash, leaving nothing but the void in its wake.

Witnessing this, the dragon, Vesuvius, channeled a surge of golden power into the dark gravitational barrier enveloping him. The barrier blazed with golden fire, disintegrating the orange beams into nothingness.lightsnovel

'So their weapons are useless against the absolute concepts of divine energy.'

With a predatory gaze, he eyed the distant ships, now not as threats but as coveted prizes—hulls, armaments, cargo, and crew morphing into valuable loot in his eyes.

With a mighty beat of his wings and a surge of golden flames and gravitational waves propelling him forward, Vesuvius lunged at the nearest vessel like a golden meteor.

More of the orange beams, shining like stars, passed and exploded within the golden flames, not even a single one of the deadly particles reaching his body.

Meanwhile, blue and red rays darted past him, their speed eclipsing his as they surged toward their foes.

Vesuvius chuckled to himself. 'They mistake my assault on the orange ships as a sign of alliance? As if they, too, haven't hindered me.'

The dragon kept speeding up, yet the orange dots of the enemy ships grew closer only slowly, the vast distance of the star system and annoying space disruption proving to be an immense obstacle.

Eyes narrowing on his distant loot—the daring enemy spaceships—Vesuvius grasped the enormity of the battle. The sheer scale of the solar system, with hundreds of ships exchanging deadly beams across the void at great distances.

'Even an entire planet is nothing on this scale.'

Vesuvius contemplated unleashing another supernova breath to obliterate the ships, but he wouldn't allow enemies to simply die without paying him deserved compensation.

'Everything that they own will become my compensation.'

His horns gleamed brighter, commanding the gravitational forces around him to propel him forward with increased velocity. Lightning arced through the void, with particles from his stellar nebula forging connections and boosting him even further.

As Vesuvius harnessed each gravity wave and summoned lightning, his velocity soared, the distant orange glimmers intensifying as he quickly closed toward them.

With flashes of light, more orange beams struck against his golden-black barrier, harmlessly burning away in a storm of golden and orange sparks. Yet the dragon's star-like eyes shone only with greed.

(AN: For some reason, I think I might have gone a bit in a weird direction with this. I am not sure if I made the right decision here. But, I truly wanted to finally allow MC to blow something up :D)
