"You should rest some more. I don't think that you are in any condition to have lunch with Miss Brione or even spend time with her today. I will ask the Chef to bring you something to eat here and I will join you for lunch instead. Oh, Miss Olivia will be joining us too," Will requested and Cedric only sighed in agreement.
Right now his head was spinning and the last thing he wanted was Brione pushing him again to believe that he was really Gavin. He might snap and show her the DNA result for her to stop but he did not want to act recklessly that would give her the opportunity to run away from him. He was not ready to let that happen.
"I'm sorry that I was not with you that time," Will whispered.
Cedric laughed and said, "Are you saying it would make a great difference if you are nearby then, huh? Will you be able to fight those sneaky bastards for me?"
Will's shoulders dropped. He heard about Cedric's kidnapping and that a few members of the security team on the island were part of it. It was not leaked to the media and The King had taken care of the matter confidentially as it was an act of terrorism.
All men responsible for it were paying for their actions as The King made sure that the men regretted that they tried to touch The Prince. The King made the punishment public as soon as all the persons involved got caught. They were tortured and all of them were hanged to death in public, making those men an example of what would happen if anyone tried to do the same thing to any member of the Royal Family.
"What's with that look, huh? Stop that. It's all in the past now and I'm all well. I might have lost my memory but I still have you and others around me who I know I can trust. So I thank you Will for staying by my side." Cedric said with genuine gratitude.
"Stop that, you're making me cry. You treat me like a brother and you said it yourself that we're blood brothers. So whether you like it or not, I'm always at your tail," Will whispered.
Cedric chuckled and said, "Let's not fret about that incident. My head starts to spin whenever I try to recall events and I always end up getting frustrated and anxious when nothing comes to mind."
"How about Miss Brione? When do you plan to tell her the truth about the DNA result? I think it's better you tell her as soon as you can so she can start looking at you as Cedric and not just a shadow of Gavin." Will advised as a friend because he did not want Cedric to become Gavinonly to please Brione. Their Prince deserves someone who would love him for who he really is.
Cedric's only answer for him was a sigh. He was still undecided because he was scared of the consequences if he did it.
"I will think about it but I will not keep it from her for long," he simply whispered.
Will nodded and then recalled something, "Oh, wait, right. I'm to report to you that our trusted men are already in country D to check out Gavin's family and also look in on all details concerning him."
"Good, I don't know why, but I feel that Gavin and I have some connections,l so it's better we do a thorough check on his family lineage. Having exactly the same face seems so unnatural. We could be distant relatives." Cedric whispered. Will nodded in agreement.
Soon Olivia arrived in Cedric's room and said, "Wow, a lot has changed. The room looks more modern. But still has that period touch. And it looks way better than before. Hmm, nice period modern touch. This colored furniture against a neutral background creates warmth."
Olivia enjoyed looking around and commented about each change she noticed. Deep inside, she couldn't help but think how Cedric had also undergone a change in his preferences, even in things like this. Earlier, he liked only the period style. He was someone who loved something simple.
Cedric chuckled, "Yeah I did some renovations some six months ago. I'm glad you like it."
Soon, lunch arrived and the three of them sat in the dining room. They were conversing about politics when Cedric put some hot sauce on his meat and then asked Olivia if she wanted some and to which the latter shook her head.
Will also shook his head and he tried to signal Cedric to stop offering spicy food to Olivia but Cedric seemed to brush him off and not understand his signal.
Olivia could not help it anymore and burst out, "What really happened to you, Cedric?"
Cedric was startled and looked at Will who was scratching his head.
"Why? What's wrong?" Cedric asked naively and Will wanted the ground to eat him whole because he knew there would be chaos soon.
"What's going on?!" Olivia burst and this time her eyes were not only on Cedric but she was also looking at Will.
"You keep offering me spicy food! When you are very well aware that I'm allergic to it! What is this? Are you doing this on purpose?" Olivia whispered as tears started to roll down her eyes.
"You're not Cedric! How could you forget such simple details about a close friend! You even used to nag me earlier not to sneak spicy food into my meals as you know it will harm me!"
Cedric pursed his lips. He knew there was no way out but to tell Olivia the truth. He looked at Will and the latter agreed with a nod.
He heaved a long deep sigh and said, "I'm sorry Livi. I don't have any intention to hurt you. I'm not aware of many things about me because I have lost my memory, Livi."
