Brione had never seen a wolf in real life. She honestly would have loved to have a pet wolf but Mitch didn't let her have it saying they were dangerous. And right now she was seeing real wolves enthusiastically approaching them! Those two did not look dangerous to her though yet she still hid behind Cedric.
"Relax sweetheart. They are my pet wolves. Meet Shadow and Moon. These two are the fairies that saved my life a year ago. I'm still alive because of them. They actually live with me, but once in a while, I let them come back here to have fun, especially if I have guests on the island," Cedric explained before he bent down and hugged the two wolves.
Brione watched Cedric in disbelief, as he was now playing with the wolves. She watched the wolves roll around him.
'They look tamed,' Brione thought and was tempted to play with them as well. She unconsciously approached Cedric and the wolves.
"Oh, they are really nice and friendly. I assume Shadow is the black one and Moon is the white one right?" Brione asked while she slowly and carefully sat beside them and tried to touch Shadow and Moon.
Cedric's gaze moved from Brione to his pet wolves, back and forth. These two definitely do not like others, even Will was scared to be near them. So how come they seemed to like Brione and let her pet them.
He was surprised that Shadow and Moon did not scare Brione, showing their fangs as if ready to attack any moment because that was what the two usually do whenever they see people except for him. But with Brione, they were surprisingly meek and friendly?
'Weird!', he inwardly thought but then he assumed that his wolves felt the same way he did so he shamelessly commented, "Ah, you guys. How come you two are so behaved? Do you like Brione too? Be nice to her since she's my sweetheart. She's your mother now okay?"
Brione turned to Cedric with arched brows and mumbled, "Is that so?"
"What? Since I'm their father, and you are my girlfriend, doesn't that automatically make you their mother?" Cedric retorted with a grin.
"How old are they anyway?" Brione changed the topic instead since being their mother did not bother her in the least. She instantly liked the two wolves who were meekly brushing themselves against her.
"They are one and a half years old. Shadow is male and Moon is female," Cedric said.
"Hmm so they were half-year-olds when they saved you? How exactly did they save you?" Brione casually asked, she was curious to find out what happened to Cedric a year ago, which was the same time Gavin went missing as well.
Cedric suddenly stood up and said, "We should return now. I'll tell you about it some other time. It's almost lunchtime."
She knew Cedric was purposely avoiding this topic and would later use it to his advantage.
Brione crumpled her face and muttered, "You stingy cunning Prince!"
"What did you say?" Cedric asked.
She had a fake smile as she said, "Nothing, let's go back and have lunch!"
Cedric grabbed her hand and she sighed. If you were to analyze things, it had only been two days since she met the Prince and just a day since she saw his face but here she was letting him have his way with her so easily. But it would be a lie if she says she didn't like it. She was very comfortable with him, as though she knew him already, maybe because she strongly believed he was Gavin.
She sneakily looked at their tightly clasped hands. She felt secure within those hands. His wolves followed them as they walked back to the tree where his horse Blaze was. Brione pulled her hand and walked ahead to the area where she saw flowers.
Everything was so magnificent that she felt like she was walking in a fantasy forest. Touching those flowers gently, she had a dreamy smile on her face as she said, "I always wanted to buy an island too."
"How about this island? Do you like something like this?" Cedric asked, his eyes fixed on her. He was also smiling seeing how pleased Brione was with everything she was seeing.
"Definitely yes, but I'm not sure if I can afford something like this! This island is the best I've seen so far!" Brione disappointingly murmured. Even if she sold all her assets, it would not suffice to buy such a big private island. She could maybe only buy a smaller island than this. If she was not mistaken this island was as big as one of the countries on the world map, but she could not recall which country it was.
'Was it country M?' she pondered.
"If you want, you can have this island you know," Cedric added with a smile
"Well yes I can only if you will sell it at a cheap price to me," she teased him with a smile.
Cedric chuckled and quickly replied, "Of course not! Why would I sell my paradise, that too at such a cheap price? This is the best island in the world and is priceless to me! But if there's a will then there's always a way sweetheart. You definitely can have this island if you want."
There was a pause which was followed by his words, "Marry me, then this island is all yours, Bri. You would even get it free of cost. Not just this island but everything that's mine will be yours."
Brione's jaw dropped in shock. She blinked several times while staring at Cedric, trying to process what he just said.
'Just what the heck is going on in his head? A while ago, I was his fiance, and now he is suggesting marriage already?' she mused in disbelief.
Cedric wanted to strangle himself. He knew he was moving too fast but he could not help himself. He was trying to take things slowly and control his straightforwardness but here he was, bringing up marriage when it has officially not even been a day since he met Brione and got to know her.
"Ouch!" Brione suddenly cried when the thorn of one of the flowers she was caressing pricked her while they were talking.
