"We also have something to report."
The elder hybrid tilted his head. 'What is it this time?'
Seeing the tilted head of the elder, the hybrid who spoke earlier said, "We have found bodies of dead hybrids inside and outside a building."
The elder raised one of his eyebrows in scrutiny, signifying that the hybrid should continue with his report.
The hybrid nodded his head and immediately continued to narrate what they had seen.
Dead bodies of hybrid, laid outside the building. Their heads were either crushed, pierced, or slashed in half. It was a brutal sight for them, even though they had been witnessing brutal scenes every day and night, seeing your comrades getting cut apart was still another sight to behold.
After hearing the full report of the hybrid, the elder nodded his head as he turned his back before walking away from them.
"I understand!" He said with a nonchalant tone.
A hybrid dying was a normal occurrence for them. They are basically the enemy of both the zombies and the humans, their journey was one fought with dangers all around them.
Yes, it could also be said as a blessing in disguise. The humans and zombies would hunt them, and in turn, the hybrids could also hunt them to make themselves stronger.
It could be said that the hybrids wouldn't face any resource shortage in the future.
No more zombies? Let's hunt humans then.
That was also the reason why some of the humans switched sides.
It was due to their greed and hunger for more power.
"There's also… never mind!"
The hybrid who was reporting was about to say something when he saw the elder walking away. Not wanting to look like a retard who speaks with the air, he hurriedly shut his mouth as he followed the others.
…
Inside a small room that has many car parts lying around, Burnok slowly opened his eyes.
A second had passed and a severe pain suddenly overtook his mind. He twitched his body like an earthworm that was dropped inside a jar of salt. The action arose more pain as the car parts lying around pressed themselves into his skin.
After a minute of twitching, he finally arrived at the corner of the small room. The corner was clean of car parts so he no longer felt as much pain as before. Slowly, he got up from the ground and leaned on the room's wall.
'What happened? Where am I?' Confusion was apparent to his face as he inspected the small room he was in. He clearly remembered that he was fighting a bitter battle with that level two zombie. He was already prepared to die back then, yet, why was he still alive?
He inspected the state that he was in, and he couldn't help but sigh at his miserable appearance.
He shook his head and tried to recall what had really happened earlier.
'I was saved? Who was that?'
He endured the pain he was in and tried to recall the face of the person who saved him. It was unfortunate that he wasn't able to have a taste of the Apocalypse Virus of the level two zombie, but he already thought of it as the payment for saving his life. Maybe that's also the reason for his savior, seeing that he is the only one here inside the small room.
'What a hideous mask that person has.' He commented as the memory from before he fainted surfaces inside his head.
'For that person to burst the head of that zombie into a meat paste, just how strong is that person?' He thought incredulously.
The scene of the zombie's head bursting like a bubble surface inside his mind. Behind the zombie's head, he saw a person wearing a strange and hideous-looking mask.
'Wait, head bursting? That's the Beheader?...'
"Ouchh, ouch…" His eyes widened in surprise due to the realization that struck him. However, at the same time, the pain he was enduring also acted up, causing his face to contort and twitch in discomfort.
'That's the thing I planned on killing? I must be tired of living.' He said inside his head.
Aside from being a spy, he and the other spy were tasked to maintain the two factions' level until the hybrids had already settled their problem. As the Pink faction was planning on recruiting the Beheader if possible, he instantly planned to kill it before the Pink Faction managed to recruit the Beheader.
Because if they did manage to recruit it, the power balance between the two factions would crumble. A war between the two would be inevitable, the hybrid wouldn't want that, at least not yet. His parents would be endangered if it happened, he must do his best to avoid it.
'It looks like I can't accomplish it this time. I hope they wouldn't manage to recruit that monster.' He said inside his head. The scene of the zombie's head bursting like a bubble surfaced again inside his head. He shivered in fright thinking of that monstrous strength.
He forcefully calmed his nerves as he thought of the situation again. 'At least, I could confirm that the Beheader was a human. The Beheader also doesn't lose out in terms of strength between the leader and the leader of the blue faction. In my opinion, the Beheader should be stronger, and was even at the peak of level two or even a newly evolved level three.'
'The town has become even more chaotic with the addition of this Beheader.'
'Aurgh, I need to heal my injuries soon and get back to the Pink Faction base. I'll report what I have contemplated so far.'
He was badly injured and it was even a miracle that he was still alive. However, surviving past this would also be another thing.
He still didn't know where he was currently at, he just hoped that it wasn't that far away from the Pink Factions base.
