Chapter 240: Retreat

"Who is that? He dares to kill Sea Dragon Sect cultivators?"

"Not only did he kill them, but he also stole the Sea Dragon Sect's serpent-grade treasure ship! There are only a few of these ships in the Sea Dragon Sect, each with thirty-six soul imprints!" šŸrš—²ššŽšš eš›noš˜ƒš—²š„.cš—¼m

"Hiss..."

At the Bai Family's port, whispers filled the air, one after the other. The faces of the cultivators were all filled with astonishment. It was unimaginable that someone would dare to make a move against the Sea Dragon Sect here!

In response to the threat from the Sea Dragon Sect cultivators, Fang Chen's answer was straightforward.

Little Sword transformed into a streak of light once again, killing the cultivator who shouted at him before returning to Fang Chen's side.

The Sea Dragon Sect cultivators stared blankly at the fresh corpse, unable to utter a word.

Then, they looked on in horror as the giant black ship turned around and sailed their way. Before long, it appeared before them.

"Arenā€™t you going to show me how you use your cultivation, or are you just going to stand there and run your mouths off? Not planning to fight?" Fang Chen looked at the remaining six cultivators at the 12th stage, smiling faintly.

The six exchanged glances, fear lurking in the depths of their eyes. Where would they find the guts to dare and make a move? Two cultivators at the 12th stage had already been killed, in an instant, too. They were afraid that they would be next if they made a move.

After a moment of silence, and many second-thoughts of hesitation, one of them found the courage to open his mouth. "You killed our Young Sect Leader...."

Pfft!

Before he could finish his sentence, his forehead was pierced by Little Sword.

"Sword cultivator! Heā€™s definitely a sword cultivator!"

The remaining five cultivators at the 12th stage revealed expressions of horror while the rest of the Sea Dragon Sect cultivators fell silent. They had never witnessed such a scene in all of their years of cultivation. Even the cultivators at 12th stage they had met in the past would all turn all respectful at the mention of their sect. After all, whoā€™d dare disrespect the Sea Dragon Sect, which had a Golden Core Realm ancestor at its helm.

Yet now, here he was, this sword cultivator held no reservations whatsoever. He didn't seem to fear the Sea Dragon Sect at all. He killed, not only the Sea Dragon Sectā€™s young master, but he also killed three cultivators at the 12th stage in rapid succession, without a shred of hesitation!

The captives hung their heads low, not daring to even meet Fang Chen's gaze.

"Don't waste your breath; just make your move," said Fang Chen with a smile.

"To think that they crossed paths with a sword cultivator...! These sword cultivators, they are all lunatics! Perhaps even the ancestor wouldnā€™t want to provoke these people. Who knows what kind of madman is backing him up?"

"Shall we retreat? We can't handle this matter."

"Let's retreat."

Led by their leader, the remaining cultivators at the 12th stage made a decision. They immediately made a sharp turn with their ships and fled in embarrassment, not daring to utter a single threat.

Fang Chen watched them leave quietly, a faint hint of disdain in his eyes.

What these cultivators didnā€™t know was that maybe if they hadnā€™t been so cowardly and afraid of death, under the situation that they all ganged up on Fang Chen and fought with everything they had, they might have been able to come out on top.

At the Bai Family's port, Bai Qianqian and the others looked at each other, all seeing the horror and fear deep in each other's eyes.

The battle out in the sea was not particularly intense, one could even say it was brief and calm, but the danger within could only be comprehended by cultivators. Three cultivators at the 12th stage lost their lives in a flash. For the Sea Dragon Sect, this might be a bearable loss. But if it happened to the Bai Family, it would be akin to destroying half of the clan's foundation!

What terrified them the most was that the Sea Dragon Sect cultivators didn't even dare to utter a threat; they fled directly. That was completely unlike them!

"Young Lady, he... he's sailing toward us..." stammered a Bai Family cultivator.

Bai Qianqian suppressed her shock and calmly said, "This has nothing to do with our Bai Family. Let's not offend the Sea Dragon Sect or this individual. I suspect he is a legendary sword cultivator."

"Sword cultivator..."

While they were all both shocked and fearful, they couldnā€™t help but feel a dab of curiosity. After all, within the Flame Empire, there was no inheritance of sword cultivation. Only in the borders of the fifth-grade empires could one possibly encounter one or two scattered sword cultivators. Terms like madman, battle maniac and Sword Breaks Myriad Laws all came to mind. It was well known that sword cultivators stood at the apex of offensive capability.

The most terrifying of all sword cultivators was a sword cultivator with a complete inheritance. No one knew what terrifying background they might have.

"I once traveled through the cultivation world and heard of something," the elderly man beside Bai Qianqian slowly spoke, his expression grave. "Many years ago, in a reputed first-tier empire, there was a top-tier sect that was visited by a hundred thousand sword cultivators. Overnight, the sect was annihilated, and its inheritance was wiped clean from the face of the earth."

Imagining such a scene, everyone felt their hair stand on end.

"A hundred thousand sword cultivators..."

By now, the black ship had already docked.

Bai Qianqian and company dared not greet Fang Chen, and no cultivator dared to approach and strike up a conversation. They stood in silence and watched.

"This ship is of no use to me. I canā€™t even put it in my storage ring. I'll let you have it. I hope that itā€™ll bring you some type of transformation after you consume it," said Fang Chen to Little Sword with a smile.

Little Sword was ecstatic and immediately began devouring the giant black ship.

The entire ship had been built using countless spiritual materials and metals. Even with Little Sword's devouring speed, it would probably take it about half a day to consume it.

And so, time passed.

After a while, seeing that Fang Chen had yet to disembark, Bai Qianqian had no choice but to bite her lip and muster up the courage to bring some people to the bow of the ship.

"Hey, Elder..." began Bai Qianqian tentatively.

Arriving at the bow of the ship, Fang Chen started at Bai Qianqian and company from up above. "What is it?" he said.

The people couldn't help but inhale sharply seeing him.

"Heā€™s so young...."

Bai Qianqian didnā€™t seem to know what to do with her face, and her expression shifted constantly. She hurriedly said, "Elder, are you planning to dock here? I am the one in charge of this port...."

"Do you want money? I'm not planning to dock my ship here," said Fang Chen with a faint smile.

Bai Qianqian hastily waved her hand in the air nonstop. "No... no need for any money."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Fang Chen didn't dock the serpent-grade ship here, at least the Sea Dragon Sect wouldn't vent their anger on the Bai Family.
