Train me…?

Her words made me freeze.

I never expected her to say something like that. Even if I had said such things a few times before, I never expected to be on the receiving end of such words.

I suppose this is what is meant by a situation in which one’s thinking stops.

I thought vaguely about what she had said.

I wondered what I would be retorting with if I were a real villainess.

How would a ruthless and cold-hearted, evil woman accept this invitation? A woman who sometimes spits venom based on righteous and harsh decisions. She cuts off whatever is not in her best interests.

If I am trained under Kushana, I would be stronger. I might not feel as powerless as I do now. I wanted the strength to be able to protect what was important to me.

It would be uncharacteristic of me to have someone train me, but there were limits to how strong I could become on my own.

I couldn’t reach Liz-san’s level, a Saint, no matter how hard I tried. If I couldn’t use magic, I’d have to hone my martial arts skills.

“Don’t you want me to train you?”

I responded with a short “Yes”.

“How impertinent! There are many who would like to be trained by Queen Kushana!”

“…You wouldn’t understand.”

I stared into the eyes of the person who had shouted at me.

“I was defeated by her. Don’t you think it’s humiliating to be told by someone you fought with in the same ring that they would train you?”

The place is silent for a moment. Still, I continued speaking.

“It’s infuriating and frustrating, but I’m going to go higher. I don’t wish to accept your offer.”

“Cheeky’!”

Kushana never looked at me, waiting for my next words.

“My name is Alicia. Please teach me martial arts.”

It would be meaningless if I did not ask of my own volition.

I bowed politely and courteously to Kushana.

I had always thought that a villainess would never bow down to ask for a favor, but sometimes you have to have the strength to bow down.

“My pleasure.”

After a pause, I heard a calm voice.

My heart skipped a beat the moment I heard those words.

It was a wonderful moment when someone who had been my enemy before became my friend! Kushana must be the hero and I must be the villain!

I was destined to remain evil, no matter where I went.

I looked up and Victor looked at me quizzically, wrinkling his brow.

“What are you grinning at, you’re disgusting. You’re the one who lost.”

“I know. I was proud of my strength, but it wasn’t like that at all. I’m still a work in progress.”

“No, Master is more than strong enough.”

Leon quickly said to me.

Duke-sama didn’t say anything and looked a bit confused.

I wonder if he was unhappy that I would still be in the Ravaal Kingdom. Or was there something wrong in Duelkis Kingdom?

“If Master is inexperienced, then what about me?”

“You’re a small fish.”

“Shall I pull out your tongue, so you can never speak again?”

Leon gave Victor a big smile. Kushana’s voice came across as a little stern as she stared at them.

“You’d better be prepared for the people to look at you with a cold stare.”

I couldn’t help but be excited by those words.

I was better off not being welcomed by her people! A Villainess should always be hated!

Besides, I received a lot of cold stares at the academy. I was more immune to cold stares than anyone else.

“If everyone speaks the same archaic language, I’m going to perish…”

“Don’t worry, we can all speak the same language. …But more importantly, why does Alicia look so happy to hear that the people hate her?”

“She’s an odd one.”

Leon, you sound somewhat like Gilles….

“Hey, you guys forgot to mention this earlier; what are you going to do about the Maddie thing?”

Victor asked with a grim look on his face.
