Chapter 609: The Confrontation With Tang Jing’s Stepmother
Chapter 609: The Confrontation With Tang Jing’s Stepmother
On Saturday, Su Yang woke up. Before he left his room, Tang Jing sent him a voice message. “Xiaoyang, are you awake?”
Su Yang did not reply. He opened the door and went downstairs.
Tang Jing was arranging the dishes on the dining table.
She was wearing a tight yellow T-shirt inside and an apron with a small flower on the outside. Combined with her eyes and soft lips, she gave off the aura of a perfect wife and mother.
When Su Yang saw Tang Jing, his eyes lit up. ‘Tang Jing is exceptionally beautiful today.’ He then greeted her, “Sister Tang, you’re up so early today.”
Tang Jing smiled gently and nodded. As she carried the dishes to the table, she said to Su Yang, “Come, hurry up and go wash up. Then, let’s eat.”
Su Yang nodded and went to the toilet to wash up.
Tang Xiaomi seemed to have just woken up as well. She stood on a small stool and held her special electric toothbrush in her mouth. Her hand was raised and she was brushing her cute teeth. Perhaps because she had been brushing her teeth for a while, a lot of white foam leaked out from the corner of her mouth.
When she saw Su Yang coming in, she looked at him with her big, cute eyes. She blinked and said, “Good morning, Shu Yang.”
As she spoke, the foam in her mouth swirled and almost sprayed on Su Yang’s face.
Su Yang knocked her head. “Good morning to you too. Hurry up and brush your teeth.”
“Okay.” Tang Xiaomi agreed and continued to brush her teeth whilst facing the mirror.
Su Yang washed his face and brushed his teeth before leading Tang Xiaomi out of the toilet. He was already an adult, so he was very casual when it came to brushing his teeth and washing his face, allowing him to be fast. On the other hand, Tang Xiaomi was still a child who had to be checked, hence she would brush slowly as well.
As the both of them brushed at their various paces, they coincidentally finished together.
As expected, Tang Jing had just put down a plate of scrambled eggs when they exited the washroom. She wiped her hands on her apron and said to Tang Xiaomi, “Xiaomi, are you done? Let Mommy have a look.”
Tang Xiaomi nodded immediately. “Mommy, it’s clean!”
With that, she opened her mouth and bared her teeth, showing Tang Jing her white teeth.
Tang Jing bent down. Her round buttocks and slender waist made her curves seem perfect from behind. She leaned close to Xiaomi’s mouth and looked at it. Then she said to Xiaomi in the tone of a child, “Yes. Xiaomi is a good girl, she’s brushed her teeth so cleanly. Come... Let’s eat.”
Looking at the scene, Su Yang felt inexplicably warm and blissful.
The two of them sat down at the table. Tang Xiaomi looked at Tang Jing and realized that Tang Jing did not notice her. Hence, she knelt on the chair and leaned her upper body on the table. She grabbed a piece of toast and placed it on Su Yang’s plate. She said in her cajoling voice, “Here, have a piece. Don’t stand on ceremony, Mommy made it.”
Su Yang smiled. “Thank you.”
After giving it to Su Yang, Tang Xiaomi took a careful glance at Tang Jing and took one for herself. Then, she sat back on the chair with her short legs and started eating the toast.
Shortly after, Tang Jing brought the other dishes to the table and started eating breakfast with them.
After the meal, Su Yang went out for his appointment as planned.
Before going to the appointment, Su Yang took out the few experiences that he had learned from Fatty Lu.
[1. Take cats, dogs, birds and other small animals and then scare her.]
[2. No matter what she says, just nod my head and say that I understand, but I still won’t change.]
[3. Leave after chatting for halfway. Speak half sentences deliberately to anger her.]
Once again, he memorized the “100 ways to make Mommy angry’”. Su Yang then took out Jin Jin, the little kitten, out of the virtual space and threw it into the car.
Since he did not know what Tang Jing’s stepmother was afraid of, he decided to start with the cat. ‘Fatty Lu’s mother is afraid of cats, so perhaps Tang Jing’s stepmother is also afraid of cats. This success rate is higher.
‘Besides, a cat could be held in one’s arms, while a dog would have to be walked instead, which would most likely affect the other guests, not to mention birds... Who would carry a birdcage around?’
Su Yang started the car and left the villa with Jin Jin.
Tang Jing and her stepmother had arranged to meet at a cafe near Shanghai Financial Street. The environment was quiet, small and had private rooms.
Of course, she said that she would go alone.
This was also to catch her stepmother off guard.
When they reached the cafe, Su Yang mentioned Tang Jing’s name and the waiter brought Su Yang to a small private room.
There was no one in the private room. It seemed like Tang Jing’s stepmother had not arrived yet.
Su Yang ordered a cup of coffee from the shop and placed Jin Jin on the floor, allowing her to play by herself as they waited patiently.
Time ticked by. Tang Jing’s appointment was at 10 pm, but it was already 10: 30 pm and Tang Jing’s stepmother still had not arrived yet.
Su Yang was a little frustrated. He felt that he had lost before the match even started. ‘I’m clearly here to cause trouble, yet why am I the one left hanging?
‘This is obviously her stepmother causing trouble on purpose! This woman is not a simple person indeed!’
Since he had already lost the initiative, Su Yang decided not to think too much about it. He took out his phone and opened Weibo to check the trending topics.
The moment he opened Weibo, Su Yang realized that the pop-up window was a poster of a movie.
The poster was a close-up of Wu Feng and two bold titles were next to him that wrote “Wolf Warriors”! There was also a sentence next to it. ‘See you on January 1st!’
Su Yang was overwhelmed with emotions just by looking at the poster.
‘The promotions have indeed begun.’
Su Yang clicked on it. He wanted to see the popularity of “Wolf Warriors”, but... It was not optimistic. Even though he had bought a promotional video, Wu Feng’s box office appeal was only average, so not many people paid attention to it.
Su Yang opened a professional box office forecasting software to check out the data for “Wolf Warriors”. However, the box office forecast for Wolf Warrior was not high, estimated to be only a hundred million yuan. It was not even enough to cover the cost.
Su Yang took a look at the viewers’ statistics and realized that it was even worse. The statistics showed that there were only about 1,000 viewers who wanted to watch the movie.
One had to know that before a Hollywood blockbuster had even been screened. With just some publicity, the number of people who wanted to watch it would probably exceed 100,000.
Even though he had Little Hus’s nose as insurance, Su Yang still felt uncomfortable.
‘No wonder so many people were waiting to see me make a fool of myself. Based on this data, if I don’t cheat, it’s likely that I’m going to lose my face as well.
‘However, I believe in Little Hus, Wu Feng and myself!
‘”Wolf Warriors” is originally a masterpiece already, but with my own post-production work, it’s definitely going to be better than before!
‘Just wait and see. In another ten days or so, all shall be revealed!’
Just as Su Yang was thinking about this, the door to the private room was finally pushed open by someone. As the door was pushed open, a woman’s voice that sounded a little pretentious could be heard. “My goodness... Excuse me for being late.”
As she spoke, a woman in a cheongsam walked in with her hips swaying.
She looked like she was in her forties. Even though she had make-up on, it could not hide the signs of her age. However, from her eyes, one could tell that she was quite beautiful when she was young.
She was able to maintain her figure quite well. Even though she was not young anymore, she still maintained herself well and did not have the problem of gaining weight that most middle-aged women suffer from.
She was Tang Jing’s stepmother.
Tang Jing’s stepmother walked into the room and did not seem to mind. However, when she lowered her head and saw Su Yang sitting opposite her, she was stunned for a moment before she said, “I’m sorry, I’ve come to the wrong place.”
Then, she turned around and left without waiting for Su Yang’s response.
However, less than two seconds later, she walked in again and asked in fluent Shanghai dialect, “Have you come to the wrong place? I’m very sure I’m not mistaken, this is my private room.”
Su Yang raised his head and looked at Tang Jing’s stepmother. He did not answer her question. “Are you Tang Jing’s stepmother?”
The woman’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Who are you?”
Su Yang replied, “Su Yang, Tang Jing’s friend.”
A look of realization flashed across the woman’s face. She took a few glances at Su Yang and casually placed her bag on the table before sitting down. “Did she ask you to come?”
Su Yang nodded. “Yes. I’m here to talk to you on behalf of Tang Jing.”
The woman chuckled and looked at Su Yang. “You’re her representative? Don’t tell me you’re the boy who lives with her?”
She sized Su Yang up from head to toe. There was a look of disdain on her face as she said sarcastically, “You have delicate features and can be considered a handsome man. Why would you want to find a woman who is so old and has a child with her? Do you have some kind of fetish?”
Su Yang looked at Tang Jing’s stepmother. He couldn’t understand why she would belittle Tang Jing even though he was her enemy. ‘It seems like the two of them are really on bad terms.’
With that thought in mind, Su Yang waved his hand and said in his heart, “Jin Jin, come up here.”
The black kitten that had been lying quietly behind Su Yang stood up lazily. It meowed and walked to the table. Then, with a kick, it flew up and landed on the table.
When Jin Jin called out, Tang Jing’s stepmother’s originally impatient expression changed. She was completely flustered. “Cat? Where’s the cat?”
Then, when Jin Jin jumped on top of the table, she looked like she was scared out of her wits. Her body had become stiff and her throat moved like she was swallowing her saliva.
Su Yang was curious. ‘Are cats that scary?
‘What kind of trauma has this person suffered to be so afraid of cats?’
However, Su Yang only wanted to scare her and didn’t want her to fall sick. Hence, he reached out and carried Jin Jin into his arms. As he touched her, he lowered his head and said to Jin Jin, “Jin Jin, be a good girl. The person opposite isn’t a nice person, so you mustn’t go over.”
Perhaps it was because Jin Jin was “controlled” by Su Yang that Tang Jing’s stepmother gradually recovered. She looked at Jin Jin in fear and then glared at Su Yang furiously.
She was no fool and knew that Su Yang did it on purpose.
There was a reason why she was afraid of cats. When she was seven or eight years old, she also liked small animals and would play with cats and dogs, hugging them and playing with them.
However, one day, she might have gone overboard and angered the old cat at her home, causing it to scratch her. The sudden pain and that instant wave of fear were forever imprinted in her mind.
Furthermore, after she was taken to the hospital for an injection, it left a deep trauma in her childhood.
This also caused her to be very afraid of cats and she had to take a detour whenever she saw one.
‘Although I don’t know how Su Yang has managed to find out that I’m afraid of cats, this is undoubtedly his revenge.’
With that thought in mind, she glared at Su Yang and tried to imprint his face into her mind. ‘How dare you scare me on purpose! I won’t let you off easy!’
Just as she was thinking about that, she suddenly froze when she saw Su Yang’s face.
When Su Yang saw that Tang Jing’s stepmother was shocked, he was secretly pleased with himself. ‘Fatty Lu’s tricks are quite effective. To deal with such an Auntie, I should use these sort of tricks to disgust them.
‘Now that the first move has been executed, I can’t wait to use my second move.’
Su Yang coughed and said, “Sister Tang told me that you don’t want us to live together.”
Su Yang wanted to go along with his second move by listening to what Tang Jing’s stepmother had to say first before retaliating to anger her.
However, before he could finish, Tang Jing’s stepmother interrupted him and said with a smile, “Why would I? I never said that.”
Su Yang was confused.
‘What the h*ll?’
