After the tutor met with the students, Yuei Vu gave them a week to think about it in detail.
According to Yuei Vu’s memory of the plot of the original work and his impression of version 2.0 in his previous life, the first truly major disaster in the GX chapter should be the rise of the three Sacred Beasts.
Apart from Kaiba, the other giant sponsor of Duel Academy, the Academy had a chairman named Kagemaru – a rotten old man who had to rely on mechanical equipment to make a living.
In order to regain his youth and extend his life, he decided to acquire the power of the three Sacred Beasts and use the three elves to absorb energy to help his body return to its peak.
To this end, he used money and the temptation of dark power to drive seven Shadow Duelists from different fields to work for him, known as the "Seven Stars", and launched a challenge to the teachers and students of the academy. That was also the first real threat that the young people in GX encountered.
But that should have happened in the second half of the semester. During the entire semester before this, Yuki Judai and his friends were mostly experiencing some joyful daily life. Occasionally, he might get into some Shadow Duels by accident, but they were just minor fights.
In the few days since the beginning of the school year, it seemed to be the same.
During this period, Yuei Vu specially asked Judai to come to his office for a talk, expressing concern for the students' living conditions and mental state – of course the latter may be redundant.
Judai was full of expectations for his new college life and was enthusiastic about the next three years of life. He told Yuei Vu about his experiences and what he had seen and heard these days, like he was pouring beans out of a bamboo tube. When he talked about the excitement, his tone was like "Yuei Vu-sensei, you really should have seen it there."
Yuei Vu learned that he had had "friendly" interactions with many classmates in the college through playing cards in just a few days. Of course, Judai-san has never lost a game so far.Although Professor Cronos knew that this jellyfish student was Yuei Vu’s student and did not deliberately make things difficult for him like in the original work, Judai still found an opportunity to duel with Tenjoin Asuka this week…
…and left a deep impression on the other party.
Having said this, Yuei Vu asked meaningfully: "By the way, Judai, what do you think of that classmate named Asuka…what do you think of her?"
Judai blinked his innocent big eyes twice and said seriously: "She is very good! Her duel is better than other classmates!"
"Um…that's all?"
"That's all…maybe?" Judai picked his hair.
"That's right! Sensei, you really should see the expression on her face when her ace monster is removed from the game by my ‘Karma Cut'. Haha, sensei, you are right, the duel is so interesting…"
Yuei Vu: "…"
Did I tell you to put "Karma Cut" in your deck to cut the relationship with a girl?
Seeing that his apprentice was adapting to life in the new semester, Yuei Vu didn't ask any more questions. He just told him as usual to turn off the lights and not run around, don't be late for class, and go to bed early at night, and then let him go back.
Of course, he didn’t expect Judai to listen. After all, the boy seemed to be thinking in the small intestine, and what he heard always went in one ear and out the other.
If the human brain was compared to a hard drive, then Judai's hard drive might be formatted every night…
Yuei Vu originally had a complete plan for the buffer period in the first semester. He listed the progress made in each stage of the plan every month and set some teaching goals, assessment projects, etc.
He wanted to prepare teachers and students before the real problems that might befall the college came.
But one part that Yuei Vu missed – or that he could not have calculated – was that the World Link Online version 2.0 had already deviated a lot from its original trajectory due to his emergence as the Duel King.
The enemy came much faster than he expected.
…….
On the first day after freshmen entered the campus, the college organized training for them.
The freshman counselors gave them a thick "Duel Academy Student Rules" and repeatedly emphasized the importance of abiding by school rules on the island.
The administrator of each dormitory ensures that students understand some of the taboos on the island. There was a prescribed time for turning off the lights at night, no going out after the lights were turned off, and no utensils allowed in the dormitory.
In addition to all the above matters, the most important point was that it was prohibited to set foot in the restricted areas of the school under any circumstances.
Just like many schools have a tradition of spreading "Seven Mysteries of The School", Duel Academy also has similar urban legends.
Deep in the jungle of the island, there was an abandoned school building. The place has long been in disrepair and has become dilapidated. It has become a gathering place for crows. There were rumors that that place used to be a base for activities of a certain student organization, but it was now abandoned because a student disappeared there.
Due to the strict information control, many teachers and students on the island still thought that it was just a pure legend. They didn't think anything horrific had ever happened on the island.
But that's the truth.
Tenjoin Asuka stood in front of the abandoned school building, wearing blue fingerless gloves, and quietly placed a flower in front of the school building.
It was now past the time to turn off the lights. The dense branches and leaves blocked the stars and moonlight, and there was almost no light in the forest.
The abandoned school building was eerily quiet. Occasionally, a dark crow would flap its wings and fly by. It would land next to the broken light bulb outside the school building and make a hoarse and ominous cry.
Coming to the restricted area at the risk of being directly expelled from school if discovered was obviously not what a model student like Asuka should do.
But this was originally one of her purposes for entering this college.
Among the missing people in this abandoned school building was her brother, Tenjoin Fubuki.
She stood quietly for a long time until a voice came to her ears.
"Who is it!?" The girl turned back alertly…and at the same time instinctively raised the Duel Disk.
This was a quality a true duelist should have – to activate the Duel Disk at any time when in danger. This thing was definitely more useful than a gun.
She was sure that what she just heard was not the sound of a bird or animal, but the sound of someone walking through the woods and their clothes scraping in the bushes.
She quickly saw the culprit.
That seemed to be a man, a rather burly man. He has broad shoulders, a square chin, and half of his face was covered by a white metal mask.
He had a Duel Disk slung across his chest – similar to the one used by Mr. Cronos. He was wearing a loose black robe, and his whole body seemed to be wrapped in steaming black mist.
Asuka bit her lower lip: "Who are you? Are you related to the disappearance of the students here?"
The corners of the man's mouth raised slightly.
"Aren't you willing to speak? Then let's have a duel. " Asuka shouted, "If I win, you must…must…"
She realized that her vision had become blurry at some point.
A strong feeling of dizziness attacked her brain, as if everything in her mind was drained out. She felt like the world was spinning, and she felt as if she had returned to the dormitory and the warm bed. Her eyesight went dark, and she fell down softly and lost consciousness.
The man looked at Asuka who fainted in front of him and sneered: "Stupid little girl, who wants to duel with you? Oh, appearing in a place like this in the middle of the night almost ruined my business…"
He strode forward and was about to pick up Asuka who had fainted on the ground when he suddenly heard a lazy voice behind him.
"It's a bit dishonor to knock someone down without even playing the cards."
Completely unaware that there was someone behind him, the man was taken aback and turned around hurriedly and alertly.
But when he saw the identity of the person behind him, he couldn't help but scream in even more fear.
"D…Duel King!?"
"Hey." Yuei Vu sat on an open rock and waved to him, "It's always pleasant to see fans."
