Chapter 85: Rules and questions
"As a devoted believer of Lord Milkyona, I will be able to tell whether you tell the truth or not. If you want my body, you must tell me about her appearance first," Emilia glared at Reylin while still holding to her stuff.
That staff and cross looked quite intimidating.
Reylin chuckled, "Well, we can always sign a contract."
That was the usual principle, and Emilia had suspected that Reylin deliberately omitted it. Now that he brought it out, her heart became relieved a little, and she returned her weapons back to the inventory.
Reylin planned the contract from the beginning, but he just chose the right timing.
He knew that Emilia would be able to tell it the moment the contract fell onto her hands. He casually passed it toward her, and he confirmed his thoughts by reading her face.
Naturally, Emilia's eyes expanded, and she realized that Reylin didn't come unprepared. On the contrary, this man was cautious with each of his moves!
'That's how it should be... How cunning!' Emilia was first understanding, then emotions took over her.
On the outside, it seemed like the contract's clauses had left her in indignation.
However, Emilia understood that breaking the contract would hurt Reylin and his unique blessing, which was actually the punishment set by the ascended.
She signed that contract, and it turned into ashes.
Reylin nodded.
"We can't do it under Lord Milkyona's eyes, however," Now that the contract was signed, Emilia was ready to do her part.
She was this man's woman, but the reward for giving her body wouldn't be a pleasure, but the critical information about the ascended.
That would help the church that was at a disadvantage in her continent, but more importantly, her own goal and strength.
After all, knowing the ascended more would bring many benefits to the priestess. There was a chance she would become the bishop through the devotion system.
The devotion system was what those who believed had.
It was even before the players came, but now that the earthlings stomped on the fantasy world, the devotion system also became something similar to a gaming system.
"I don't want you now," Reylin said.
"If that's what you want..." Emilia nodded, inwardly highly relieved.
"Just guide me to a room where we can have some talk," Reylin added.
He had lost his virginity just recently, and it wasn't with a random woman. It was a great woman that had made his heart skip a beat a few times and whose feelings had reached him deeply.
Reylin had his rules, and he would feel utterly displeased by himself should he do it with another woman after just a few days of his first time with Layla.
Besides, he was in the capital, a city where Layla lived.
If his needs called him, he didn't need to run, and those would be probably answered exceptionally by Layla. And if she happened to be busy, a quick sucking from her would do anyway.
Reylin also wouldn't press if his woman was totally not in a mood, and he would help with her work instead, just to quench those needs.
Anyway, Reylin wasn't controlled by his hormones that badly.
He smiled and followed Emilia.
Hormones planted some magic on Reylin, however.
He stared at the priestess back without hiding his interest.
Emilia's looks were great, but finding someone utterly ugly would be a challenge in the Faynom World.
Mana did its wonders, and that showed with its residents.
From behind, Reylin saw Emilia's brown hair cascading down. It was half-back length and carried a pleasant smell. Like nuns, her clothes showed her slim waist, and below, she had a ripe and big ass hidden beneath her clothes.
She trod with her back straight, holding her hands and looking quite serene. One would think that her mind thought and devoted her to the ascended all the time, but her face masked her ramping up feeling well.
Reylin saw what he could, and he naturally didn't voice out any complaint.
At the very end of the church, he finally looked around it. The church had a similar theme to the catholic one. It was decorated in way too many crosses, in Reylin's opinion.
He also saw the old runes that were actually Milkyona's name. Of course, she had left some words to humans in the Faynom World, but as a woman with little words, those runes were relatively scarce.
The surprising fact was that Reylin could read those runes, and he didn't ignore that. Whether it was system help or not, Reylin would be able to voice out all Milkyona's words, but just in his and the native language of the Faynom World.
The duo left the church and went behind it. Not too far away from it, Reylin saw the building where all church-related people lived.
They went there and entered Emilia's room.
Outsiders would instead imagine the room as a small one. Still, it was half of Reylin's apartment from the real world, meaning that it was actually vast and sufficient for a few people.
Reylin sat down on the chair, then waited for Emilia as she offered him tea.
After she put two cups on the table, Emilia sat down and looked at Reylin, "How's the tea?"
"It's good," Reylin replied with a smile.
Emilia nodded with a faint one, "We can discuss whatever you've come here for. Remember that I am a priestess. Though I am just one rank below the highest, there are countless priestesses across our continent. My relationship with the bishop is so-so, I would say, so don't expect the highest information."
"The bishop is the highest-ranked believer? Well, I do have a few questions. Let's start with the betrayer theory."
"Ah, this one..." Emilia sighed.
"I don't know every noble's beliefs and whether the royal family believes in the ascended as much as them. Since many say that the ascended has chosen the residents to level up, I believe there has to be some church influence royal court. Anyway, for you, which ascended is the betrayer?" Reylin asked.
He knew that each group had its own type.
Knowing Milkyona's believers' type from the capital would enable some exciting plans to put a wedge between the nobles.
It was a good piece of information for Alex Loyalty, and Reylin would surely convey it to him.
Emilia parted her lips, "We believe it is Changnam. He's known for his greed and trickery. His believers find it amusing, especially making up excuses to make his deeds sound noble instead.
His grand deed is slaying the abomination born of the disrupted mana. However, other believers state that the abomination could've been slain before it matured and that Changnam relied on the treasures from others ascended since his own couldn't deal with the abomination on its own.
I personally don't like him as many stories about him come to light every year. Frankly, fuck him."
"Hohohoho," Reylin burst into a peal of laughter.
His laughter sounded much different as he didn't expect her to use curses, and she was pretty brutal with that ascended. He always valued honesty in others, so that was a good asset that left him content.
He smiled and asked a few more questions about Changnam, and Emilia spoke candidly, brutally dissing that existence.
