Chapter 138: I love you
Reylin waited for players to do their jobs.
He didn't want to do everything on his own as players needed experience. His flames could kill those monsters and wrap residents in flame rope in less than ten seconds, but Reylin wouldn't appear every time things turned south.
Besides, he worked closely with his girlfriend and friend, so players from their guild needed to learn how to fight next to him.
Reylin's flames looked beautiful but also dreadful.
Weak-minded players wouldn't immediately enter his flame wall and do their job. The same went for common players, so all needed proper training and time with him.
Reylin turned heels after they all did their job, then went to Tathum City.
Tathum City became one of the strongest powerhouses in just a few days.
A whole city rejuvenated due to the sudden influx of residents from Lioness' City, Emilia's side, and all residents who hadn't gone mad.
It bustled with colors as residents felt various emotions other than pure hatred toward the players.
All defenses were raised. One visible one was more sturdy walls and guards moving in armors of a higher quality!
Reylin passed through people silently.
They would either bow at him and thank him for his work or show pure devotion. He didn't want to deal with it, as Reylin's goal was still to be the king of all flames.
He didn't need to be official, formal, or whatever.
His goal was grand, and that was what mattered.
He went through the city and left it promptly.
One might think that the city was the strongest household in Tathum Province, but only a scant people were aware of the most sturdy hidden base.
That hidden base used to be the boss' hidden cave.
Now, Maya was the sole owner of it.
Aria and a few close guild members were aware of it.
Reylin also had Layla and Emilia settle themselves here. Of course, both ladies often went to Tathum City and beyond to help with the maddened residents.
Reylin entered the hidden base and headed straight to Layla's room.
She was a high mage whose abilities surged in dire times! With access from many fallen residents and both guilds, Layla produced a lot of valuable skills for Reylin's beloved and their people.
Mages had a lot of rewards on the line should they work efficiently!
Lioness also learned how to share a little of her skills, and she possessed a skill scroll that increased the bleeding effect tenfold!
Players were so thirsty for that skill that they worked as efficiently as mages!
And the list would continue as guilds grew up every day!
"Welcome back! You returned too fast!" Layla happily waved at Reylin upon his return.
He smiled at her, "I wanted to return to your side as fast as possible, beautiful."
Reylin had Layla teach him about skill scrolls.
Were it not for the dire times, Reylin would've been studying probably for most of his time. It was quite an immersive and exciting activity, to say nothing of spending time with a hot blonde girlfriend.
Reylin also had Flame Artist skills, and his jewelry left many crafting class players speechless and astounded. They asked for his flames from time to time!
Alas, for them, Reylin had more than just one reason to focus on the skill scrolls.
"It looks like you have already remembered all Mana Letters, and your system absorbed them... With enough time, you will really make a legendary skill scroll!" Layla applauded a few times as she overlooked Reylin's progress.
Skill Scroll making began with mana letters. If one grasped those, they could try to write about their skills and knowledge. Once it succeeds, the user would use their 'handwriting' to twist the skill and add their own flavor.
Users who learned that skill would add their own touch through Weapon Skill Tree and many other usages!
Reylin smiled widely, "I have a good teacher."
He was impressed by Layla's knowledge. The same went for Layla, and she was convinced that her boyfriend was the king of flames, or at least would be in the future.
The way he drew mana letters for fire abilities was different than for his Black Rose's Class. The former was as if natural, while the latter required much more work!
"You have been staring too much into my eyes lately, Reylin," Layla said as she fished out a new batch of empty scrolls and liquified mana.
Reylin tilted his head and laid it on his hand, "Have I?"
Layla nodded, "Is it because you've introduced us to your girlfriend from another world? You guys have monogamy here, so I have to say that you have scored the best. Aria is a good woman."
The ladies had met already per Reylin's introduction.
These three beautiful, older women had a unique, girly talk on their break from dire times. Although time was well spent nicely, it was a highly informative meeting.
The differences between monogamy and polygamy were a must-talk.
Reylin smiled, "Not jealous at all?"
"Not at all," Layla replied.
"Not even a little?" Reylin asked as he brought himself closer.
With his face so close, Layla gave up and said, "A little jealous, that is..."
That was an answer Reylin wanted to hear. If Layla wasn't even a little jealous, then it would mean he had done quite a bad job in their relationship.
And that talk was due to the other reason he practiced skill scrolls more than other things.
When Reylin inferred that the game world might be the real world, Layla and Emilia looked much different in his eyes.
He couldn't give up on them.
The game would end at some point.
And even if it didn't, the game would still be a game.
Real-life changed too many things.
Reylin extended his finger and gently caressed Layla's cheek. She blushed a little and stared back at him.
His actions had been weird lately, but Layla blamed it on her meeting with Aria.
Although weird, it pleased her, and her heart drummed a pleasant tune to her ears. She stared back at him and looked at Reylin, different from their first meeting.
His arrogance was nowhere, and they both taught themselves skills and magic! They were like equals, like lovers, and good friends.
His faint smile filled her heart with butterflies and warmth.
Of course, Layla's bashful and shy reactions did the same for Reylin.
Even though there was a 10 years gap between them, she was so cute Reylin would like to see her in his school uniform tailored for her.
If not tailored, it would get the same effect as Lioness's had showcased on her moving.
He chuckled and stopped rubbing her cheek, "I love you."
"I love you too," Layla curled up her lips and replied.
Reylin burst out laughing, and that kind of laughter could mean many things!
Layla arched her head back and asked, "You rarely say it... What happened?"
"Oh, do I? It's a flaw I must fix then," Reylin chucked and leaned forward.
They silenced the room with their kiss.
And with such a mood, their break wouldn't end with just a kiss.
