Book 2: Chapter 8.1: A Bet

“Master, what do you mean?”

After hearing Bai Qiuran’s words, Tang Ruowei’s expression darkened.

“Are you jinxing me, your only student? Do you think I will be stuck in the Qi Refining stage just like you?”

“It’s just a rational doubt.”

Bai Qiuran corrected his hand by touching his chin:

“I can’t help but think that way. Ruowei, you are really like me when I just started to cultivate. A youth who is a little naive and sweet, is blessed with Heavenly-level Spiritual Root, has a great passion for cultivation... Moreover, what you are going to practice is the teacher’s method ... ”

“My gender is completely different from you, okay?”

Tang Ruowei said with a face:

“Birthplace is also different.”

“Huh, the cultivator never asks the past.”

Bai Qiuran coldly said:

“When it comes to gender, you are just lacking a body part. If you change into man’s clothes, no one will think you are a woman.”

“Well!”

Tang Ruowei covered her heart in pain, then angrily:

“Well, I take pride in my smartness. No matter what the situation, I won’t become like a certain person who is always struggling on the road of advancing to the Foundation Establishment stage!”

This time the one whose expression darkened changed to Bai Qiuran.

The teachers and apprentices covered their hearts like silly ones, facing each other with indignant eyes.

“Hey, Ruowei.”

Bai Qiuran’s voice was somewhat vicissitudes.

“We are master and student, isn’t it a bit stupid to play this way?”

“Seems like that.”

Tang Ruowei replied:

“But aren’t you the one who provokes first?”

“Well, since you are so unconvinced...”

Bai Qiuran raised an eyebrow and said:

“Based on your qualifications, it doesn’t take long for you to enter the tenth layer of the Qi Refining stage. I have spent five years as a teacher, you shouldn’t be slower. Five years is just a blink of an eye to us. Would you like to make a bet of ‘Can you successfully build the foundation’? ”

“Master, do you want to bet with me?”

Tang Ruowei raised her eyebrows.

“Of course.”

Bai Qiuran said:

“If you fail to make a breakthrough, you must listen to me, your Master, obediently and do whatever I want you to do.”

“What if I win?”

Tang Ruowei asked.

“If you win?”

Bai Qiuran laughed.

“Then this master will give you a top-grade flying sword as a gift, and then, promise you a request.”

“Any request?”

Tang Ruowei suspected.

“As long as I’m capable of. Besides, it must not violate the law.”

Bai Qiuran nodded proudly.

“Good.”

Tang Ruowei unrolled the scroll.

“I’ll start practicing right now!”
