Chapter 108

When I returned to my class after survival class, I was informed by the academy that I could resume my club activities after school today.

“I’m alive!!!”

Even though it was just a matter of resuming club activities, for some reason, Jin-woo knelt down on the floor and started praying to the heavens.

Just as I’m thinking, “What the hell is he doing?”, Young-jae walks over and explains, as if he’s read my mind.

“He was supposed to have a mentoring session today but he was saying earlier that he could use this club activity as an excuse to skip it.”

“Oh.”

I guess he hates mentoring classes after all.

Well, if Han Yeo-eun was my mentor, I’d still do club activities if I had to choose between training and mentoring. …….

【Main Story】

[Main Story] You’ve created a new wind in the academy! By creating a new club, you’ve written your own new history! Lead your club successfully to be promoted to Silver Club!

[Prerequisite: Complete 5 Club Requests!]

[Number of Requests Completed: 4 / 5]

[*Achievement rewards may change depending on the results]

I was only one request away from completing the Academy’s main story.

In order to clear it, I would need to progress through the club activities, and fortunately, the restrictions on club activities had been lifted today.

“By the way, haven’t we accumulated some requests this time?”

Recently, the club had been receiving not only written requests, but also requests using the Academy’s community, and thanks to that, we had accumulated quite a few requests.

“Ah, yes. But if you sort out the crap and the stuff we don’t need to do, there are about three things we can do.”

As Se-ah said this, she showed me the titles of the requests.

[1. Harvesting King Crocodile Skins in Mangrove Dungeon – ‘Lutung Bittung’ Foundation Club]

[2. Assist in testing potion performance experiments – Alchemists’ Club]

[3. 3-day mercenary contract – ‘Hunter’ club].

“Is this a request to collect materials, a human experiment, or a mercenary contract…….?”

These are all fairly innocuous requests.

One in particular stood out: the Hunter Club was looking for mercenaries.

“Is the Hunter Club preparing for a raid?”

The Hunter Club was obviously the club that Se-ah had first tried to join, and one of the few super-giant Platinum clubs in the Academy.

If they were looking for mercenaries, it was definitely not an ordinary-sized raid.

“I saw this and asked the interns from the next class, the Hunter Club, about it, and it seems they’re trying to raid the new B-class dungeon in the North Mountain.”

A Class B dungeon is a difficulty level that requires two parties of active heroes to tackle.

If it’s academy cadets, it’s probably a party of five.

Then…….

“Roughly speaking, the purpose is to train successors and collect byproducts.”

“Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking.”

I didn’t know where they got the right to raid a B-class dungeon, but I knew for sure that if it was a B-class dungeon, it would be dangerous for someone of average skill.

“Did it come with any strings attached?”

“Yeah, they said it had to be a tanker.”

“……Tanker?”

Was there anyone in our circle who could stand as a tanker?

Jin-woo uses a sword, but he’s an assassin, so he’s not a good fit to be a tanker. Se-ah and Young-jae are mages, and if that’s the case, what’s left is someone who uses martial arts…….

“You just want me to sign the mercenary contract.”

“I suppose so.”

It could be that they’re just looking to sign a mercenary contract with me for the pure purpose of trusting my abilities, but……my instincts told me there might be something to it.

“Well…..I think we should look into it some more. Maybe we should get a second opinion from the others.”

“Yeah, I think it’s probably a good idea to be cautious.”

Then maybe we should have the meeting in the club office.

“I haven’t been there in a while. I’ll do some cleaning.”

* * *

The basement of the club.

As I was walking down the hall with the other members of the club, Jin-woo giggled and muttered to himself.

“Wow, why does it seem like it’s been so long since I’ve been to the club room?”

Young-jae nodded in agreement.

“Well, it’s been a long time.”

Since we hadn’t had any club activities since the terrorist warning video was posted, it had to be about a week.

“Still, it’s nice to be able to use that cozy club room again, and honestly, our room is much nicer than the Academy training grounds, right?”

Se-ah said with a positive smile, probably because she had already fallen in love with the welfare facilities at ‘Familia’.

After all, good welfare is the key to employee loyalty.

[Name: ‘Familia’ (Corleone)]

[Rating: Bronze]

[Family members: 4 / 5 (Needs a rating boost!)]

[Subsidiary Organizations: 4 ]

[Environment: Very Good]

[Club members are very satisfied!]

Indeed, the kids were very satisfied as well.

As I was about to enter the password to enter the clubroom, I suddenly realized that I could hear something from inside.

“I think there’s someone inside…….”

“Inside? Eek, is it a thief?”

Sure enough, we had a lot of expensive stuff in there.

But…….

“There’s no way someone could sneak such a large piece of equipment inside the academy without being detected, so it’s not a thief, it’s someone who has the password.”

“Was there anyone else who knew the password besides us?”

“Two people.”

One was our club’s advisor, Ji-hyun, and the other was…….

“Oh, Ms. Lee, I thought it was you.”

Lee Haru, the head of the International Trade Club.

It was her.

“What are you doing here?”

“Ah, I heard that the club can resume its activities today, so I was cleaning the premises through a company I know. Did I do something wrong?”

I looked through the open door and saw a group of people working hard to clean up.

Judging by their uniforms, they must be related to Haru family.

“No, thank you.”

I wondered if I should hire a contractor to clean the clubroom, but I couldn’t resist the help.

“Well, I’m glad to hear that. Oh, I finished most of it before you got here, so you should be good to go.”

We were led inside by Haru and were greeted by a tidy place, no different than when we first left.

“I’ll return the favor later.”

“I haven’t even paid my debt yet, so why don’t you deduct a little from that?”

I smiled sheepishly and nodded.

“I’ll reconsider.”

“Thanks. Oh, and by the way, I think I’m done cleaning up, so I’m going to go back to the International Trade Club, so you can get some rest.”

With that, she waved goodbye to Haru and returned to her club.

“Jin-woo, you can still hit three more, why don’t you try?”

“I’m behind, I’m really behind!”

“You think it’s just another string? You’re not going to die, so let’s go up! One!”

“Keeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

Jin-woo and Young-jae hit the weights hard in the training room.

“Ouch. These are about to expire. Mr. Eugene. Can I take this home with me?”

Se-ah is organizing the refrigerator to put the newly received desserts in.

Seeing this, I started to feel like the club was finally getting back on track.

I was relaxing on the couch for the first time in a long time.

-……What is it?

-……De.

-………What?

I hear shouting from outside.

Obviously, because of its size, there’s no one around to visit the club, let alone other clubs, so who’s outside?

“Are they clients? I’ll go outside!”

Se-ah also heard the noise outside, so she quickly finished organizing the refrigerator, and then opened the door to go outside.

“Hello, are you sure you’re looking for ‘Familia’?”

A yellow name tag peeks through the open door. Apparently, they’re sophomores.

As Se-ah cautiously questions them, the man standing in the middle of the three adjusts his glasses and speaks up.

“You’re a member of Familia, and the one behind you is Eugene Han, the club president……?”

An unfriendly tone.

It bothered me that my name was said in such a tone, so I got up from the couch and headed for the front door.

“Yes, but……would you like to go inside and talk first?”

I could tell from their looks, expressions, and voices that they weren’t going to have a good or short story, so I stepped in front of Sr-ah and spoke first.

The three look at each other and nod.

“Do you think so?”

It was an unpleasant laugh.

I lead the three of them into the storeroom, and they stop moving.

“Wow……what is this, this is a real basement floor room?”

“Hey, it’s really fancy, this is the new club? I guess the rumors were true.”

“What is this place? It’s so big……? It must be several times bigger than our dorm.”

Apparently, everyone was surprised to see the facilities in our dorm.

“Se-ah, I’m going to take the guests to my office, and you can get some tea and refreshments.”

“Oh…… Yes, I have some macaroons that the reformers wrapped for us this time, will that be enough?”

“Good enough.”

After entering my office, which was labeled as the club president office, I immediately seated the three of them and sat down across from them.

“I’m guessing you’re not here for a request, so what can I do for you?”

Usually, the people who come to us for requests are students who are in trouble and have nowhere else to turn.

But the look on their faces now?

They were so laid-back and arrogant that they almost seemed to enjoy it.

And in my experience, there were two kinds of guys.

Either they’re looking for a fight. Or they’re looking for a fight.

Either way, they’re annoying.

“Oh, why are we here? It’s not a big deal, but I suppose I can talk back, since I’m the senior.”

He pushes his glasses up and smirks.

He must have come for the first reason.

“You’re not going to do it if I tell you not to?”

“What? Hahaha! Of course not, I’m just being polite.”

“Yeah, well, then I’m done talking.”

The three guys’ faces turned sour as I spoke up and declared my intentions.

“We’re the seniors, after all…….”

Apparently, the one with the glasses is the one in charge of this group, because he’s the first to speak up.

I sighed and looked at him.

“You don’t have basic manners and you want to be treated like a senior, funny.”

I shot back, and the bespectacled one crossed his legs and opened his mouth.

“By the way, let me introduce us first. We’re in the Silver Club on the second floor. We’re Ares, a club for fighters of all grades.”

Ares? From what I remembered, it was a club for guys who were known to use their fists at the Academy.

I was intrigued that they would come to me, as I also use fists as my main weapon.

“So why is the great ‘Ares’ visiting us?”

He smiles a toothy grin at my question.

“It’s not a big deal, we’re here because of the ‘Ranger Club’ guys you beat in an all-out war not too long ago.”

“The Ranger Club?”

Oh…… There was a group of guys like that. It seems like such a long time ago, with so many big events.

“They owe Ares some money.”

Oh, I get it.

These guys must have come to pick a fight.

Funny, this is what they look like as soon as things warm up a bit……I’m not avoiding the fight, though.

I smirked and made eye contact with him.

“I don’t think I need to tell you what’s going on, but I’m guessing you’re here to ask us to pay off the Ranger Club’s debts, or take over the jobs they used to do for you, or something like that?”

The guys’ eyes widened at my guess.

“Oh, that’s right, you’re a freshman and you’ve already started a club…”

“──Get lost.”

“……what?”

“Get lost.”

Who the hell are these assholes to threaten me?
