Chapter 313 The Orphan Sardin!
On the eleventh day, the finals heated up.
This time, there were no separate arenas. Instead, they fought as a group.
Annie and Sardin Peak were arranged to be the starters of the day.
Annie was the only female professional. When she debuted, the observers greeted her with loud cheers, even though they knew she was supposed to have an arranged marriage with William...
However, she was a cute-looking fairy, so many male professionals had a tendency of wanting to protect her.
When she stood inside the arena, looking demure, a group of male professionals started intimidating Sardin Peak. If he dared to lay a finger on Annie, they would beat him to death after the match.
William watched the crowd become enthralled. It seemed that they were happier than he was.
He did not expect Annie to be so popular.
“Well, yes. Annie has more than 200 Charm Points. Even though they are less than mine, the reactions of the male professionals are also quite normal. After all, Annie is the only female professional who proceeded into the finals.”
William was emotionless. He did not care about the cheering of the losers.
The losers could only make use of their imagination with Annie, while William got to take real actions.
It was a difference between Heaven and Earth.
Tsk, tsk!
It could not be described with words.
Sardin Peak looked troubled when he got onto the arena. He wondered if the organizers had been mistaken to arrange a demure lady for him to fight.
Hmm!
It was a powerful girl who appeared demure.
Her family background was astonishingly intimidating.
And she was the fiancée of the Blackleaf prince.
“D*mn, whether I win or lose, my consequences are dire.” Sardin silently cursed the top four powers and deeply inhaled, as he prepared to make his moves.
He was a real man.
He could not be soft-hearted, just because his opponent was a girl.
He thought that a punch on Annie’s face would make the girl sob for a long time...
If she started sobbing, Sardin could intimidate her and win the match.
Annie placed her right hand on the sword hilt, while the long Moonlight Sword emitted rays of subtle moonlight. She was a light element professional.
In her occupation, a slight change happened to the light element, so the brilliance looked more like moonlight.
William scratched his head. He could not figure out if Moonlight Elves were related to the guys who ascended the moon.
While Sardin was pondering his next move, Annie’s gaze became icy cold. Did Sardin intend to hit her face until she cried?
No explanations were required.
Whoever wanted to punch a beautiful fairy was, pffff, a beast. All beasts had to die.
In the next second, the little princess unsheathed her sword and preemptively struck!
Rays of moonlight filled the sky.
ne
The arena became covered by silvery-white moonlight spanning thousands of meters.
Thousands of rays of sword energy simultaneously flew out of the scabbard, while hundreds of sword energy rays swirled around behind Anne’s head.
The sword energy trailed behind the long and narrow Moonlight Sword that slashed at Sardin Peak.
The first attack was a fatal move that had a sword energy that engulfed the entire area.
Sardin Peak was perplexed that Annie had made a fatal move in her first attack, so he incessantly cursed inside.
However, he knew how to counter it.
Even though it was his first time encountering this move, he remained composed. He made his chained hammers swirl around, thus, creating an illusion...
Well, it was a move that he used to counter long-distance attacks.
Many observers gaped in astonishment, while some exclaimed in shock. The little princess Annie had a lot of hidden moves, but it was not prudent to use her most powerful move at the start.
But they knew very little about the Moonlight Elves.
William was aware that she was a Moonlight Swordsman, a royal clan’s occupation created by the ancestors of the Moonlight Elves, who were called Moonlight Sword Sages.
The royal members of the Moonlight Elves, besides being mages, were skillful swordsmen who specialized in blades.
It was not like William, who used all sorts of weapons...
No matter how fast Sardin’s hammer twirled, loopholes still remained.
After bracing for several seconds, his battle energy shield was penetrated, and he started bleeding profusely.
But his defenses were very strong, even comparable to a shield-bearer.
After Annie’s attack, Sardin charged forward and swung his hammers at Annie’s face.
The observers swallowed hard.
The corner of William’s eyes uncontrollably twitched. He was very tempted to go up the arena to kill Sardin...
But the little princess was not easily defeated. Just as the hammers were about to land on Annie’s hand, she lifted a single hand, and a Light shield composed of longswords appeared.
A loud explosion took place, and the Light shield shattered.
The hammers’ offensive was badly weakened, but the second hammer flew at Annie’s head.
The little princess gently reeled back, but some of her hair was incinerated to powder by the hammer’s battle energy. She made use of the chance to execute a thrust.
Swish!
It was sword energy composed of blue and white rays.
The rays that were hundreds of meters long looked as though they would penetrate the entire arena.
Their speed was incredibly fast.
It was not a single ray of sword energy.
It was a sword’s reflection of light that was hundreds of meters long.
Sardin looked in disbelief at the bleeding wound on his abdomen. Fortunately, he had dodged in time. Otherwise, his heart would have been pierced...
“It can’t be considered a serious injury, but I’m a second-seeded contestant. If I’m being beaten up by a girl, won’t my reputation be tarnished?”
Sardin was infuriated and shouted, “Little girl, I’m restraining myself, but don’t go too far!”
“Cut the crap.”
Sardin did not respond. He rapidly swung his chained hammers.
The two hammers flew towards Annie as if they were boomerangs.
Sardin’s aim was highly accurate when he threw the hammers.
The little princess kept parrying with her longsword and the scabbard.
But each time the hammers were countered, they would instantly return to Sardin’s hands.
He floated in the air like an anti-aircraft gun that continuously pounded at Annie.
Hundreds of rays of sword energy circled behind Annie. After a few seconds, she grasped an opportunity to thrust upwards.
It was a piercing attack!
The blade sliced through the air.
Moonlight reflected off the sword, while hundreds of rays of sword energy flew towards Sardin.
Annie’s legs were slightly bent, and she transformed into sword energy that ripped through the clouds.
Two Moonlight Longswords pierced towards Sardin at the same time.
It looked as though the swords could slash through the sky.
The intensity of the sword energy was boundless.
But, Sardin was one step ahead.
He lifted a hammer and aimed at the first Moonlight Sword energy. Then he completely focused his attention on the other hammer, which flew towards Annie like a flaming meteor.
The momentum of the flying hammer was enormous.
Annie was unable to dodge, so she could only brace herself.
Boom! Boom!
Two deafening explosions filled the air.
Shockwaves emanated, while misty clouds were created.
When the mists vanished, Sardin appeared, covered with wounds and blood. He had braced himself for the first sword energy of Annie.
The hammer that he had tossed sent Annie flying out of the arena.
It was an issue with momentum and weight.
The princess was featherweight... cough. After bracing against the hammer, she was unable to resist the momentum. Hence, she was disqualified since she was sent flying off the arena.
But it did not mean that Annie was not strong enough to defeat Sardin.
The arena was too small!
Hence, the featherweight Annie was easily flung off the arena during any direct confrontation.
William immediately restrained Annie, who wanted to charge up the arena and said, “Forget it. Don’t be angry. Give me a chance to defeat him.”
The little princess glared at Sardin before looking at William. She made a pout. “Hit his face.”
“Yes, I know. I’ll wallop his face until his mother can’t recognize him. Do you have other requests?” William consoled Annie. He would face dire consequences if Annie blew her top.
Especially when Annie was fierce and powerful.
William was afraid that he might also be implicated.
Anne pondered for a while and said, “Hit his head until the brain juice flows out.”
“Huh, huh?” William was taken aback. Would Sardin not die if his brain juice flowed out? He knew he could do it, but he doubted that the Magic Conference would allow such a brutal act.
As for Annie’s words...
Hmm!
They were mere words of anger.
The little princess was cute, but each princess had an unknown peculiarity. Some princesses liked to pick their feet, while some snored loudly when sleeping.
Annie was the kind of princess who was extremely brutal when angered.
During the Darkness Invasion, William had witnessed her brutality. He did not want to see that again.
William felt that Annie was a princess, and she should not be on a battlefield.
The battlefield belonged to the men.
Women, especially girls, should act demure at home.
Previously, the City of Dawn had been very weak. However, it was different now.
If not for the adamant request by Annie for participating in the Magic Conference, William would not have agreed to let her fight.
After all, every man was chauvinistic.
William was no exception. He was just being subtle.
The conversation between the lovers was overheard by Sardin Peak, who grinned and walked off.
He had obtained the victory, and it proved he was a real man.
He did not care if the opponents yielded.
Lord of Dawn?
Sardin would wallop him when the time came.
He was an orphan.
He did not need any recognition!
