Soo Yin was now standing on the balcony of her room. Staring at the night sky that looked cloudy. She rubbed her flat stomach again. If she was alone like this, it really made Soo Yin feel sad. She remembered her future baby again.
Condensed tears began to trickled out of the corners of her eyes. Even if in front of other people she looked fine but her heart she was fragile when she was alone like this. Plus, she hadn't seen her husband for several days. The longing was getting deeper and deeper. Soo Yin could have gone to the hotel if she wanted to see him but Dae Hyun wouldn't let her go anywhere after the day she went to the hospital.
"Honey, why did you leave mom so quickly," muttered Soo Yin softly. If she remembered about the incident that night, Soo Yin felt very sorry about it. She had failed to become a mother because she cannot look after her future baby.
A woman will look strong and try to keep smiling if there were people around her. But when she was alone like this she would shed all her grievances and grief. That's why a woman needed friends when she was sad so that she wouldn't feel alone and someone can comfort her.
"I'm sorry, honey," Soo Yin said while lowering her head looking at the floor with her hand still on her stomach.
Soo Yin felt that her cellphone in her shirt pocket was vibrating. She immediately checked it, it turned out that it was a video call from her husband.
Soo Yin hurriedly wiped the tears with the back of her hand. She didn't want Dae Hyun to see her sad. Soo Yin also put on a face that was as cheerful as possible and moved her lips to develop a smile.
"Good night, honey," Dae Hyun said as he waved his hand from across the phone. Even though he looked happy but tired lines could be seen from his slightly blackened eyelids.
"Hi, are you not sleeping yet? Take care of your health, don't work too hard," Soo Yin said matter-of-factly. She was sad to see her exhausted husband.
"I can't sleep if I'm not next to you," Dae Hyun said with a thin smile.
"You better rest because it's late. Can you not work so hard anymore?" Soo Yin said.
"I was just trying to finish my job before I resigned. Don't you miss me so you asked me to sleep?"
"No," Soo Yin said curtly.
"Okay then I'll hang up."
The phone screen went dark. It turned out that Dae Hyun had actually cut their phone lines. Yet they had only spoken a few words.
"Ugh, you jerk!" Soo Yin grunted. Although she was just pretending. Hoping that Dae Hyun will come back to the villa for tomorrow's day off but it turned out that work was more important than her.
Soo Yin decided to go back into the room since it was already almost ten at night. Her eyes were also getting sleepy.
°°°°°°°°°°
Dae Hyun had just arrived at the Pyeongchang-dong villa when it was almost midnight. He just came from the bakery to order a birthday cake. Tomorrow was Soo Yin's 19th birthday. At first Dae Hyun didn't remember the date. It was fortunate that Jean reminded him so that Dae Hyun immediately rushed home.
Earlier, when he suddenly turning off the phone, it was Dae Hyun's intention to do it too. So that Soo Yin thought he won't come home.
Dae Hyun lit a candle when he arrived at the door of the room. When turning the knob, it turned out that the room was not locked so Dae Hyun could easily enter.
Soo Yin was already asleep. Several days of not seeing her in person, Dae Hyun praised Soo Yin who looked prettier.
Dae Hyun cleared his throat to make a sound. After fitting enough, Dae Hyun immediately sang a happy birthday song for his little wife while kneeling on the floor. He sang as best as possible to made melodious right in Soo Yin's ear. Even though Dae Hyun admitted that his voice was mediocre, he hoped that Soo Yin's ears wouldn't get hurt when she heard it.
Soo Yin rubbed her eyes. Her gaze immediately widened when she saw a candle light that was not far from her. She tried to sit back on the side of the bed.
Dae Hyun raised his voice even louder. In fact it was all Jean's idea to make a little surprise. Otherwise, Dae Hyun wouldn't have thought about it at all. He admitted that he was really bad.
"Pray, ask for whatever you want then blow the candle," Dae Hyun said with a smile.
Soo Yin immediately sat up straight, following what her husband ordered without wanting to argue. She was too happy to be speechless. Soo Yin closed her eyes to say a prayer that she hoped that one day her life will be happy with Dae Hyun.
Then Soo Yin immediately blew out the candle. Indeed, she was currently feeling very happy. She thought her husband wouldn't want to do a little thing like this.
"Happy birthday, honey," Dae Hyun said as he sat on the bed.
"Thank you, you make me touched," Soo Yin said with tears in her eyes because she was too happy.
"How do you know if today is my birthday?" Soo Yin asked suspiciously. Even though she forgot about it.
"Jean told me. Sorry, I can't be what you hoped for. I also wouldn't know if Jean didn't remind me," Dae Hyun said with full of regret. He didn't even stop by the shop to buy gifts.
"No need to apologize, seeing you doing all this already makes me happy," Soo Yin said with a cheerful face, the sleepiness that was there were slowly disappear. She then shifted her body forward then rushed into the arms of her husband.
Dea Hyun put the cake on the nightstand with one hand. Then returned Soo Yin's hug tightly. He kissed the top of Soo Yin's head over and over again.
