Chapter 164: Borrow A Place
Yun Xiangxiang called He Wei to inform him about this after she finished her call with Milles.
“The company has received news about it.” The person in charge on Milles’ side had contacted He Wei when Yun Xiangxiang was still going through the script.
He Wei was surprised that something as great as directly asking Yun Xiangxiang to collaborate would fall into their laps.
“I have finished reading the script. I am very interested in Amy,” Yun Xiangxiang sounded happy. “Besides, she does not have many scenes. It won’t take up too much time.”
Yun Xiangxiang was trying to ask the company to take a step back on the pay in a not-so-direct way.
The actor’s company would ask for an exorbitant price for those who came to seek them out on their own. Many actors lost great opportunities because they could not reach an agreement.
Naturally, the company was not to blame. It was there to gain profits. It would make sense to prioritize their benefits.
“I have not read the script yet, but I trust your judgment. I’ll try my best to make this work for you,” He Wei did not sound as confident as he used to.
This does not look the usual He Wei. Yun Xiangxiang was curious, “Did something happen?”
“I am worried that you might miss out on “Flying Sky”,” He Wei did not hide it from Yun Xiangxiang.
The schedule for “Flying Sky” was not confirmed yet. Not even now. Even He Wei was uncertain himself. July was a precarious word.
If the company decided to choose the character right when Yun Xiangxiang was shooting for “First Love” in France at that time...
Milles arranged the shooting of “First Love” to be during the holidays, as he could accommodate Yun Xiangxiang. It did not matter if it was done on purpose or not. He was sincere.
However, it was impossible for the company to delay “Flying Sky” for Yun Xiangxiang. She was not the only one who could play as Tian Tian.
A huge production would involve a great number of crew. Everyone’s time is money. It was impossible to ask so many people to wait for Yun Xiangxiang.
He was also the company’s staff. It would be remiss of him to jeopardize the whole company’s profits just for the personal gain of Yun Xiangxiang and himself.
Yun Xiangxiang had also remembered about He Wei’s reminder of the possibility that “Flying Sky” might start its selection in the second half of the year.
She had been practising jujitsu every day for six months just for “Flying Sky.” It could be said to be the most effort she had put in for a film so far. If she missed out on it just like that, it would be an indelible regret for Yun Xiangxiang.
She had agreed to Milles’ invitation. Besides, Amy was just too brilliant a character in “First Love.”
“Amy” could be translated to mean “The woman whom I love most.” It was obvious that Milles had poured a lot on this character.
She was not like Emily, who had a lot of space to prove her acting skills. Nor was she the shining female protagonist.
Even her scenes were the things that existed within Otto’s fabricated memories. However, she left a deep impression easily.
Most people would have a sweet first love hidden within their hearts. Perhaps they were real, or perhaps they were a fantasy, just like Otto’s was.
She could easily evoke the emotions and memories of the audience. This was a great chance to step onto the international stage.
Yun Xiangxiang declared after silently mulling over it for a while, “Brother Wei, take Amy. I can’t do anything about it if “Flying Sky” and I are not fated to be.
She would not appear too often in “First Love.” All of her scenes would be in the early part of the film. She believed that she could finish shooting it in a month.
In other words, if she prepared continuously for the selection of Tian Tian from now until July, she could hurry back in August.
She would only have July as the time when she could not do anything. If “Flying Sky” had to complete its selection during that time of all time, Yun Xiangxiang could do nothing about it.
“Alright then.” Since Yun Xiangxiang had made her choice, He Wei did not interrupt her further.
He Wei thought that Yun Xiangxiang was almost sure to have Tian Tian in her hands. If she refused to act in “First Love.”
However, Yun Xiangxiang was the one who would play in the film. She needed to tread her path herself. He could only create opportunities for her, not controlling her whole life.
Yun Xiangxiang called Xue Yu to confirm the time and venue for the shooting of the MV tomorrow after she ended the call with He Wei. She then picked the script for the MV up and started reading it.
Even though there were only a few featherweight pages, Yun Xiangxiang still looked up for the info for every detail and jotted down her own thoughts.
She still kept on with her practice before bed. The workout had become a habit of hers. It was not just for the film now.
Yun Xiangxiang noticed that her energy had changed after she started working on her jujitsu. Her body’s conditions soared.
Yun Xiangxiang could of course walk the path that benefited her to the end.
Yun Xiangxiang did not bring Song Mian along for the shooting of the MV. He also had his own matters to attend to. However, she brought Li Xiangling and Song Meng along.
“Xiangxiang. The Song Family is a top noble family. Are you really prepared for it?” Song Meng relaxed a little when she saw that the driver was Ai Li.
“What do I need to be prepared for?” Yun Xiangxiang asked smilingly.
“It’s not easy to be the daughter-in-law of a noble family,” even though Song Meng had a great time in the Song Manor, she was still shaken even until now.
She might look naive, but she still understood that a weak person should not try to ingratiate themselves into a strong family.
She thought that Yun Xiangxiang could live like a queen with how great she was if she just found an above average guy. However, if it was the Song Family...
“The Song Family is different,” the silent Li Xiangling piped up. “Xiangxiang will be happy.”
Everything that happened yesterday eased her worries. Even though she did not say much with Master Song, their politeness toward them just because Yun Xiangxiang was there was enough to prove how much they valued Yun Xiangxiang.
The fact that Master Song could even help to search for a master in Shaoxing opera for Yun Xiangxiang to help her in shooting her film was enough to prove that he did not look down upon Yun Xiangxiang’s career. In fact, he respected and supported her.
Since Song Mian’s mother was not with the family, there was one less difficult relationship to handle for Yun Xiangxiang.
As she watched calmly from the sidelines, she knew that Song Mian was a powerful man who had a way with doing things. Yun Xiangxiang would be happy her whole life, as long as he did not have a change of heart.
“Okay then. Since you have said that, what more can I say?” Song Meng piped down sensibly.
Yun Xiangxiang who was sitting in the middle grabbed their hands, “I know you girls are worried about me. I will be happy. Do your best too. I am still waiting for the day when you girls treat me back.”
“I am a woman who is going to swim in the ocean of the entertainment industry. The stars and the oceans await me. I do not want to waste my youth so fast,” Song Meng was clear about this.
“I go with the flow,” Li Xiangling did not look forward to it, nor did she reject it. She would follow what the heavens had dictated for her.
“We are almost there,” Yun Xiangxiang saw the filming studio when she raised her head.
“Is my make up messed up? What about my style?” Song Meng quickly took out her little mirror.
She would come into close contact with her idol soon. She did not have any chance to talk to Xue Yu during the last concert.
When the car stopped, Yun Xiangxiang and Li Xiangling stepped out of the car first, without even looking at Song Meng. Xue Yu came to welcome her himself.
“Hahahaha. Let’s go. I’ll bring you to meet your girlfriend,” Xue Yu beckoned Yun Xiangxiang inside happily.
It turned out that the place where their MV would be shot was the filming studio borrowed from the crew of “Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny.”
“Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny” had started filming yesterday. Wei Shanshan had already joined the crew.
When she saw Yun Xiangxiang, Wei Shanshan who was in ancient attire pounced on her, “Xiangxiang, I’ll pretend that you’re visiting me during work.”
