Chapter 125: Social Media Storm I

After parting ways, Jason headed back to his apartment and spent most of the day lounging around, only remembering about the social media issue he had discussed with Adele when he saw a notification that let him know that he had an e-mail.

Dennis had finally sent him the pictures he had taken earlier. It came later than Jason expected, but maybe Dennis was editing some of the pictures.

Jason didn’t believe that stupid sh*t about it being scientifically impossible for him to take a bad picture as it didn’t make sense “scientifically”.

Anyway, after receiving the pictures, Jason took his time looking through the pictures as he could not afford to be too careful if it was a profile picture he was trying to select.

After a few minutes of checking pictures, he finally settled for one of the pictures where he had been taken his glasses off without focusing on the camera so it like it was taken when he was unaware.

The way his eyes were seemingly glowing like gems in contrast to the dark-lensed glasses he took off seemed to call to him and he immediately decided then and there that that was his current profile picture for the current foreseeable future.

He immediately went back to the Instagram app and selected the picture as his profile picture.

After that was done, he went ahead to make a post using the selfies he had taken with Adele.

Under the pictures, he wrote, “Relaxin’ but still standin’ on business,” and then tapped the blue post option.

Not unexpectedly, even after almost five minutes, there was no like or comment on the pic and that was to be expected, after all, he had just created the account.

Jason didn’t care too much and went ahead to do the same thing on Twitter and Facebook, selecting the profile picture and making his first post.

After he was done with that, he immediately closed the apps and went back to lounging around in the living room with the TV at a low volume so as not to aggravate his headache.

At some point, he even fell back asleep once again despite already oversleeping that same day.

Yet at this moment, there was a storm brewing on the social media channels which Jason had posted his pictures and even one which he hadn’t been bothered with.

His posts took a little time to be noticed, but thanks to the social media algorithms, his name would inevitably pop up among people who had either once searched for his presence on social media, or anybody who usually looked at something similar to Jason, Rose or any other things that were related to him.

This was where the various nicknames he had came to finally be of use to Jason than cringing him up. Due to them being quite a lot and all related, there was a larger audience that was exposed to anything similar to the name of “Jason” & “Rose”.

Thus some people soon started seeing Jason’s post on his newly created account.

At this point, Jason’s decision and choice of a profile picture that no one other than him had, came to fruition as once Porto fans saw the profile picture and the post that featured Jason’s pictures that weren’t seen anywhere else, they immediately liked the post.

When they found out that the account was a new account with only one post, they followed it immediately thinking that it just had to be Jason’s original account.

Of course, some people who were pessimistic still did not follow the accounts, thinking that since it was a new account, there was no way it could be Jason who was “18 years old” and should already have had an Instagram account for at least a few years, after all, which teenager didn’t have a social media account on all the major social media platforms.

Of course, all of Jason’s fans, especially the female fans immediately followed the account when they saw new pictures of Jason that they hadn’t seen before despite tearing through the depths of the internet.

Their thinking was, ‘even if it wasn’t Jason’s original account, it was still worth following if it could continue posting information about Jason, that frankly, was quite hard to find.’

So following it wasn’t much of a loss anyway, after all, what was one more addition to the total number of people who were following?

While this was happening on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, a different storm was rising up on YouTube.

Dennis wasn’t an especially famous YouTuber, but he still had over a hundred and fifty thousand subscribers, thus when he posted the edited video of his encounter with Jason, it soon started garnering.

Contrary to Jason’s thoughts, the reason why Dennis had sent the pictures later than Jason expected was that he was too busy editing the video of his encounter with Jason and he had not actually edited any of Jason’s pictures because Jason was just that handsome of a specimen(to everyone but himself, of course)

Thus when Dennis posted the video that recorded his, Jason, and Adele’s encounter together, along with the funnier scene of Jason turning into a motivational speaker as well as the photo shoot moment, his followers started watching the video and were impressed by Jason’s looks and comedic sense of humor that Jason wasn’t actually trying to show.

Dennis had a lot of female subscribers as the male population of YouTube was usually more interested in watching videos where unbelievable activities were being performed.

With such a huge crowd of female fans coming into contact with Jason’s picture and video, they were immediately taken by him and started sharing the video with every one of their girlfriends.

Due to this, more and more people watched the video and soon, the number of views had passed the number of subscribers that Dennis had and was still rising, while Dennis’s subscribers started increasing as well.

Soon someone who had noticed Jason’s new account on Instagram watched the video and immediately put two and two together, thus she left a comment and added Jason’s Instagram account details under the video.

Viewers immediately noticed her comment and started liking the comment and before long it became a top comment among the other comments that included,

“So cute,”

“These pictures already got me pregnant,”

“Spank me, daddy,”

“His eyes are so cute?”

“Chill bro, my girlfriend, mother, and sister are on this app,”

“Isn’t this the Rose Dragon of Porto FC?”

The effects of all this started showing their effects on Jason’s accounts and his followers on the three social media platforms started growing quickly.

Growing wasn’t even the right word, flying was more apt.

Yet while all this happened, Jason lay asleep on the couch in his living room, with his phone disconnected from the internet.
