Chapter 487: Report about Team 69Chapter 487: Report about Team 69
A few minutes later, one of the people in the shinobi alliances command room lifted his head and took a look at the floating sphere to see how Team 69 was doing. When he saw the fight’s result, his chin hit the ground.
“A-sama, I have a report about Team 69.”
A grave expression appeared on A’s face as he nodded his head, motioning the person to make their report.
“I’m not sure how it happened, but it ended in total annihilation.”
A clicked his tongue in anger when he heard that.
“Damnit, to think we would lose so many strong shinobi at the start of the war. Team 69 had a lot of elites.”
The person who made the report looked at A weirdly before realizing the misunderstanding and correcting his words.
“That’s not what I meant, A-sama. Team 69 annihilated the White Zetsu’s, not the other way around.”
“… huh?”
Naturally, A was shocked by that revelation.
“How did they manage to defeat such a huge group with measly 50 people?”
“I don’t kn… Oh, I just received a thought transmission regarding that. Apparently, Hiruzen Sarutobi-sama, the Third Hokage, was part of the group, and he slaughtered the White Zetsus pretty much by himself.”
A’s eyes widened in surprise, and moments later, his gaze landed on Tsunade.
“Did you know he was in that group?”
“Yeah, I recognized the fake name he used.”
Although A was annoyed that Tsunade kept something hidden from him, he was also relieved that Team 69 wasn’t wiped out. However, he couldn’t fathom how Hiruzen could pull off such a feat. After all, he wasn’t the young anymore, and his skills should have declined heavily since his prime.
‘I see; he probably had to go all and push with everything he had to pull that victory off. He probably is pretty close to fainting by now. Despite being from Konoha, I can respect him for his deeds.’
“Where is Third Hokage-dono now? He should be pretty drained after doing something like that, and we should evacuate him as soon as possible.”
The messenger kept quiet for a while, clearly communicating with someone from Team 69, and after a short moment, a weirded-out expression appeared on his face.
“Err, after the White Zetsu were defeated, Third-dono yelled, and I quote: ‘There are more of these trash out there, I can feel them. Let this old man teach you what happens when you get in between me and my books.’ , and then he sprinted off far faster than anyone from Team 69 could follow.”
All eyes landed on Tsunade, but when people noticed that she was currently glaring at something, they followed her gaze and noticed that she was looking at Yuna, who was still lying around on a couch.
“Mah, no need to glare at me like that.”
“What the hell did you do to sensei?”
“Don’t worry; I just gave him a little incentive to end this war fast.”
Tsunade was still glaring at Yuna as she asked her next question.
“Won’t he die from this? He is clearly overexerting himself.”
Yuna could only shake her head when she heard that assumption.
“No, the old man isn’t that stupid. After all, if he were to die, he wouldn’t get his price either, so survival is a must.”
Although Tsunade still wasn’t happy, she decided to trust Yuna’s words and Hiruzen’s skill on the battlefield.
While Tsunade averted her glare, A quickly took her place and glared at Yuna.
“Why are you even still here? Aren’t you supposed to be a battle junkie?”
Yuna chuckled in amusement before nodding her head.
“I am, but it needs a certain kind of battle to get me going. Squashing a bunch of chunin-level threats is no fun at all. Although there are a few Edo Tensei in the mix, I haven’t found anyone interesting enough for me to make a move so far. My time will come when the big guns come out.”
A nodded in agreement at Yuna’s words. Frankly, Yuna not participating yet was the way to go. She was one of their greatest assets in this war, and exhausting her before the enemy showed their trump cards was not a good idea.
Silence returned to the room, which was only interrupted by the occasional report. So far, not much has happened, except for the massacre Sarutobi administered.
However, A’s head snapped towards Yuna a few minutes later as he realized something else.
“How the hell did you manage to sneak the Third Hokage on the roaster list of Team 69? You clearly knew that he was in there; otherwise, you wouldn’t have recommended that team.”
Yuna couldn’t help but give A a weirded-out look when she heard that question.
‘How did I get him on there? Is he an idiot? Isn’t that pretty obvious?’
[There are people out there that are not used to you yet. Obviously, he wouldn’t instantly assume that you did it like that.]
‘Oh? Is that this common-sense thing I’m occasionally hearing about?’
[It is.]
‘In that case, I’m not really interested.’
[I’m aware.]
After her short chat with Kurama, Yuna put her attention back on A and started speaking.
“How did I get him on there? Isn’t that obvious? Through bribery and a healthy dose of coercion.”
While Tsunade could only facepalm at Yuna casually confessing her crimes… again, A almost had one of his blood vessels burst.
“You manipulated our army’s troop constellation through bribery and coercion!?”
Why are you asking a redundant question like that? Didn’t I just say that?”
While Yuna asked that question in genuine confusion, A felt like she was mocking him. This was enough to push him over his breaking point, but just before he could attack, another report came in.
“A-sama, one of our main armies is about to clash with a horde of over 10000 White Zetsu.”
A clicked his tongue and gave Yuna a seething glare before putting his attention back on the war.
“This isn’t over yet.”
Yuna chuckled in amusement as her gaze returned to the enormous floating sphere as well. Seeing what group was about to clash with the Zetsu army, Yuna couldn’t help but smile.
‘Well, then, let’s see if you can get the neccasassary merit to impress me, Karin.’
[Whatever that pervert is about to do will definitely be a war crime.]
‘Mah, a war crime a day… errr… m-makes everyone’s day?’
[Did you just rhyme ‘day’ with ‘day’? Pathetic.]
‘What can I say? I’m not good with rhymes. Maybe I should ask Bee for lessons?’
[For the love of god, please don’t.]
‘Hahaha, I know you love me; no need to say it.’
As a retort to that, Kurama only rolled his eyes.
